Hi guys! Popping in to say I am not even trying to both keep up with the thread and write a trip report in the ABD thread at the same time. So, if I have missed any questions directed at me, please tag me and ask again. I happened to catch one and thought there might be something I missed. I don’t want anyone to think I’m ignoring them or anything.

Oh you guys will get a kick out of this. We had our first internal flight with ABd that was 3 hours in Air China in economy. The Plane Princess was like :crazy2: I was like :rotfl2: How the mighty have fallen! Then afterwards, I was on the Plane Princesses side and reminded of why we travel hack! On a happy note we get to credit all the flights to our own frequent flier programs. Yay! Free airline miles!!!

The Plane Princess in economy?! The horror!!!

Quick Reminder: Hotel Reviews Thread

We haven't had activity here: https://www.disboards.com/threads/d...f-i-love-credit-cards-so-much-thread.3680669/ for awhile. If you've recently had a cool redemption, please consider putting a little review out there :) I know there's been some talk of Disneyland so maybe those that have stayed at some of those properties can add that? :)
Done for my beach trip last month! And in a couple weeks I'll have a review of the Le Meridian New Orleans! (as well as the Hilton NOLA for one night I guess, admittedly not excited about that compared to Le Meridian!) ...Which reminds me I need to start researching what to do for our NOLA girl's weekend, ack!

Any suggestions for what DH and I should do our third day in Anaheim? We're planning on two days at DL. We've been before, so I think two days will be sufficient. I was thinking we'd check out Downtown Disney our last day, but I know that won't take all day. Our only issue with going into LA to do stuff is we'll have a carry on and no car to store it in... thoughts?

Since @gottalovepluto planted the "Holidays at DL" seed, I convinced DH and DM to take a trip in December. DM's dealbreaker was having to walk any kind of distance to the parks because she lived in OC 40 years ago and is still worried about panhandlers. I don't want to be saddled to a shuttle service, so I needed to keep my search area very tight. We ended up booking a 2 room suite at Park Vue Inn, which is a motel, but a highly rated motel, directly across the street from the DL entrance. It's privately owned, so I couldn't book with UR, and DM wanted to use her CC for the deposit. So, I'm not getting points from either the front end or back end of this deal. But I am splitting the cost and getting two rooms in one so that DM's snoring won't wake us up, so I can't be too upset. It will be my first time at DL, and I'm super excited to see it decorated for the holidays!

I can buy my park tickets on CSR points through Chase Travel for a discount though (as long as they know not to book through Funjet) right @gottalovepluto?

We stayed at the Park Vue Inn 2 summers ago. It is so close to DL!!! The hotel was nice and relatively quiet for having doors that open to the outdoors. The breakfast was very, very basic so you may want to bring a few things to add to it. The IHOP next door is very expensive. Have fun!

After DTD, hang out in Trader Sam's at the Disneyland Hotel for strong drinks and good food?

Make sure you have some time for that call! PITA! I had to call and give them some verifying info and then they wanted a phone number to send the code to and I had to read it back and then they setup my account. It took like 20m if I recall correctly. Adding the CIC to my CIP account as simple! Its just getting it setup in the first place that is painful.
How did you add the CIC to your CIP account? I need to add DH’s to his CIP and i’m Stumped.

I am attending a conference at one of the resorts at WDW. I was going to buy park tickets through the conference website though it routes me to what looks like the Disney website. I was planning to use my CFU for 1.5x points. But if it is through Disney, will it code as travel? If it does then I will use my CSR.

Does anyone know? Want to get as much points as I can :p

Thanks!

My hotel room at WDW booked online coded as 3x travel, for whatever that’s worth. I would think maybe anything through Disney would code as 3x since I don’t know that it differentiates between hotel and tickets.

Sitting in the Fantasmic theater for our last night at WDW. We fly home tomorrow night. How come you look forward to and plan trips for so long and then they go so quick?!? This trip has been like some weekends. They always go fast but this trip has been like "what? It has already been 6 nights and we have to go home?" It is a good thing we are stuck with Delta. If we drove or could change flights like southwest I would totally be working it and trying to figure out a way to stay another couple nights.

I get 24 days, combined personal/sick time. DH gets 10 days of PTO and 2 sick days. :sad2:

Hmmm... mine showed as transferred out of Ally on Friday :confused3
DH and I both get the same amount since we work for the same federal agency and both are in the 8 hour category for annual leave since I have 26 years and he has 29 years. So 10 Federal holidays, 208 hours of annual (which we can only carryover 240 hours), 104 hours of sick (which we can carryover an unlimited amount) and can have 24 credit hours on the books (extra time that you work in excess of your 8 1/2 work day). I am using 2 credit hours Thurs and Fri afternoon for DS’s school stuff.

This exact thing happened to me when DH got his CIP. Total PITA! But they were able to resolve it with a call (which DH had to be on initially before they would talk to me). Happily, with DH's new CIC, it went right into his existing online account, so no repeat of that experience.
Same exact thing happened to me! They also had to talk to DH, which wS pretty funny as he basically handed it off to me.

No. Tickets purchased through Disney’s website code as entertainment. If you can add them to your room and then pay them off with your hotel bill it will code as travel.

Tickets through Disney have not coded as travel in the past unless they are tied to a room package and you make a combined payment (essentially fooling the system into thinking you are making a hotel payment).

I would do it soon. It took 6 days for my card to come. What was cool was i got the gold status within 24 hours of approval. good luck with applying.

Were you offered the card number at the end of the application? Seems like many have been offered the instant number on the Hilton cards, in my unscientific tracking, so mostly curious.
With them changing your status right away and if you can get the card number during the app then one could call the hotel up and add the card to the reservation so it's on file for checkin, in case the card doesn't make it in time. But that relies on them giving the number and the website not glitching when it displays the number (that so sux @disneymagicgirl ) so I still wouldn't leave it too late if I were @schmass
