DISchurners Announcement:
Please join me in welcoming @Lain as a Moderator of r/DISchurners. Now that we are over 150 members I figured it was appropriate to add a 3rd moderator.

DISchurners actually requires very little moderator work, as it is very quiet and nobody is yelling or reporting each other (haha!) but in the event that I'm distracted I like having some backup folks to help out. I also want to thank @Albort for his support since the beginning and for continuing to help where necesasry.

Primarily, the purpose of the mods will be to check and make sure support links are accurate and active. When a newbie is willing to support a DISer we want to make sure the thread has clean links :)
Congrats @Lain on your moderator status! Dance party for you!! party:

Nope. I've read that datapoint on Reddit and FlyerTalk too.

Private Client doesn't even bypass anymore apparently. The banker offered to set up a private client appointment. I was like, "I'll just stay at Fidelity."

This is awful! Thanks for letting me know. What is even the point of being a private client with them? They are awful.

I have no idea what is going on. It have checked the CIP account again and I went in under Chase.com/verify and there was nothing there. I know my Marriott showed up almost as soon as I was approved. Oh well! I’ll just keep checking.
Ugh...hope you can see it soon...i think when I called to see if I was approved it told me the credit line as well so if you call maybe you can get the information that way

So I’m trying to find the best way to purchase some Disney gift cards. Looking to purchase $800 (as soon as my new chase freedom comes!)
I’ll be getting $150 off that from opening the account.
My ideas...purchase at grocery store with the quarterly bonus and should get about 26.00 in gas (2X gas points at 16 gallons)
Purchase Walmart gift cards using chase pay (I can do this correct???) and get the quarterly bonus. Then use those cards at Sams club to buy discounted Disney cards.
My Best Buy has been out of Disney cards lately so using the SB code for $50 purchases might not be an option (and I think I could also use chase pay there correct?)
Am I missing any other options...like shopping portals or other strategies???
Unfortunately I don’t live near a Kroger (we do have a gas station that’s part of the Kroger chain but they never have the deals I see posted here!)
Any additional ideas anyone has would be appreciated!

With all the approvals this week for Chase cards it's psyching me up for really applying for the CIC on Friday. I worked the numbers and I can meet the spend even without the life ins premium (really I swear we don't have that many expenses normally, but if you time your 3 months right it's almost too easy. :faint: ) so I think I might try.

Here's my dilemma though. Friday would be 32 days from last application, but I procrastinated on reducing all the credit limits. I'm SMing for the last reduction tomorrow and that's the big one. I'm at 57% right now but after this last one is complete I'll be at 49% of household income. But that's only 2 days before the application, will that be enough time?

The other issue I'm wondering is did Chase change how lenient they had been with revenue? My revenues are only a few hundred dollars so far and I'm planning to increase that this year, but I'm not sure much I want to project. I did it for AmEx because they made the 4 digit requirement, but I think I only added about $650 to our household income when I applied last month. Is that still enough?

Fwiw my BB got re-stocked after a couple weeks, so might be worth it to keep checking once a week. And yes BB takes Chase Pay.

Of course we're always thinking about our next app, so as I'm working on my 8k spend for the CSR/CSP:scared1:, I'm dreaming of the Hilton Aspire card.:rolleyes1 When I go onto the Amex site, even if I'm not logged in, it doesn't offer me a bonus for the Aspire, it just has a button that says "upgrade" (I have the no-fee one). If I click on a support link that takes me to an application with the bonus, I'm going to get it, right? Amex isn't going to not give me the bonus because I have the no-fee version, are they?:scratchin

Haha. It’s not like it’s a promotion. I’m just trying to help out however I can.

It is like my “promotion” at work. More prestige (in sense I got a lot of “congratulations”) but in reality it is a longer commute and the same amount of money. On the plus side most days I actually have more time to keep up on here. For you though of course and your “promotion” the pay is exactly the same. :)

Seriously though I always appreciate the thoughtfulness and time and energy of your posts. And your odd ability to remember a lot of who has what card. Some days I barely remember what cards I have!

I’ve noticed that too about remembering cards. There are a few people I wonder if they keep notes on everyone! It’s hard to look back and find things. I’m lucky to remember 1 post later! I’ve wondered how they do it. Lol

you have to float that money. Ive seen people who do it too quickly, the bank will close your account and issue a refund back to the card.
How soon is too soon to pull the money back out? I opened a Memory Bank account on 5/2, funded with Marriott Biz. Then I set up transfers from my CapOne360 account for the ACH requirement. I set it to transfer $200/week for 3 weeks so it would look more like regular activity and not just going for a bonus. Is that necessary? This is my first time trying for a bank bonus. I'm actually considering keeping the account, and moving the bulk of my emergency fund into it for the 1.6% interest. So I guess I could pay the CC back from my EF and call it a wash, instead of transferring the funds back out of Memory.

And with that, I'll jump right back in.

If you get an Amex signup offer you like, don't close your browser window, take just a moment to think about it, and just DO IT -- strategy be d*mned.

I pulled the 100k MR offer on the Amex Platinum for my wife a few times last month, but hesitated thinking I've replicated it a few times, I'll pull it again when I’m ready -- but haven't seen it since. My wife tells me that she has to travel to LA and Tokyo for work in June, and is without a Plat for lounge access and hotel status. She says it's not a big deal, but I know she enjoys the perks and I just want to make her work trips as pleasant as I can. I've been trying various tricks on and off all afternoon without luck -- not even the 75k MR incognito offer. Amex seems to have dropped off Cardmatch again. I am not burning a slot for her to be put on as my AU, and heck no am I applying for just the 60k MR offer (and it doesn't even seem like I can generate a referral from my MB Plat to bring that up to a net 75k MR). I guess I have at least 2 more weeks to try.

Out of curiosity, I tried pulling the 20k MR offer for the BBP -- nope, offer is no longer available for me.

:badpc:
And I will add my sob story... I had the 30K incognito offer for SPG personal pulled up at work, but hemmed and hawed over it for so long that I had to abandon my desk to go to a meeting. When I got back, the link had expired and I could not get it to pull up again. I ended up applying under the regular 25K offer, because at that time we thought the card was going away. Well, now that it's apparently not and there is supposed to be a "rich bonus" offered again at some point, I mourn the loss of those 5K SPG points.

I had swim followed by soccer tryouts. At soccer now catching up. This thread is running hot today
I went on a field trip with 27 3rd graders. :scared1: :faint:

You got me curious so I keep trying to think of something else for the Freedom categories and haven't come up with anything else yet. Most of my thought trains ended in "nope, that worked because we were buying Best Buy GC's :headache:" But if you could find somewhere with a discounted GC (that can get you a Disney GC) that takes PayPal, that's another option for this quarter.

But as for your listed strategies I thought about it a bit and if your Best Buy restocks and you can cash out Swagbucks for PayPal, that still seems the most lucrative since you just use Chase Pay for all the purchases. If I worked my numbers right then the Sam's route edges out Grocery by a smidge, so if you could figure out how to get more use out of the grocery points that could sway it (cuz it's easier :)).

.........................................................Disney Amount Discount Cashback ....Final total... % off
Best Buy $710 & SB discount* .....................800 (810)........ 90.......... 38 .........672 .........16
Sam's $500 + 2x $150, $775 in WM GC's ..............800.... 29.06...... 38.75.... 732.19 .......8.47
Grocery Gas points ..............................................800........ 26........... 40......... 734 ......8.25
Sam's 6 x $150, $860 in WM GC's........................ 900.... 42.12........... 43..... 814.88 ......9.45

The last option gets you a better % off but you have more Disney money than requested. Just threw it in there for comparison. Best Buy gets a little wonky as I was trying to figure out the least amount of cash to spend to reach 800 using the Swagbucks points. But it makes it uneven for redemptions since PP is in $25 increments. So you either add in other SB to end up with 810 in Disney money or figure out another accounting method for it :)
The Walmart/Sam's route also assumes you can buy the variable GC's with the Chase Pay or PayPal, and just round up a smidge to cover the GC price. I know you can in store but can't remember what's available online.

Edit: Oh, and I didn't account for the $150 bonus because that's the same amount off the top for all methods.

ideally yes, that could be a plan, using your EF to pay off your CC and then replenish it with the amount thats out. i would wait at least 2-3 months before moving all the money out though. If there is a bonus, u may need to leave the money in there longer.

Does anybody know if Chase support bonuses posted this afternoon/evening? I was expecting 1 and see no change.
