I love credit cards so much!

So after getting the CSR/CSP a couple weeks ago I'm now at 61% of household income in Chase CL's. This sounds no good for getting a CIC, especially since on my CSP app they asked if I wanted to add more income before they approved it. (I said no, still got approved)
I was thinking about just taking 5k off my Disney card to leave room for the CIC because I don't need that anymore (years back I asked for the 5k increase to cover a trip and haven't been close to even my original CL ever since) but after working the numbers I realized how high I was. And I'm thinking while 57% is better, probably not good enough? I don't really want to reduce my other cards... even if I did what I was willing to lose it wouldn't bring me under 50%, it's really that high limit on the CSR. Probably a little irrational but I was trying to avoid touching the new CSR since it just seems odd to ask for a credit reduction so soon after receiving it, like haven't even got the first statement yet soon. But when they approved that it basically doubled my CL with them. Do you think I should ask to reduce it enough to bring me under 50%?

And what do you say when you ask to have it reduced? Like if I have to call, do they ask why? It's still a little unfathomable to me to ask to have less credit but I know it's for a good cause :)

I just used Plastiq for my property taxes. Looking forward to the points from CIP but I'm just nervous about sending the payment from Plastiq. I allowed plenty of time. Scheduled for May 18, not due until June 6. I guess I'm nervous for the check to arrive without a payment coupon. Silly, I guess.

Why would you pay the deductible if it wasn't his fault? In that case I just notify my insurance company and have the at fault party pay the damages. Unless the at fault party had no insurance??

DH got hit last year and they made us pay the deductible and then after the claim was resolved and it was verified that he wasn't at fault, it was reimbursed.

I just sent one too. I think it will be fine as long as you put an account number or something in the memo line.

I think it is fine to ask for the CSR limit to be lowered. I just send a SM saying, "Please reduce the credit limit on this account to $X." Haven't had any issues with it. I have even moved credit limits around from one account to another via SM without issue.

Just about to apply for the CIC and am getting nervous about my Chase history. I am 4/24:

1/17 CSR
8/17 Delta Gold Personal
2/18 Disney Chase and CF (I was not planning to go for business cards when I did this, or I wouldn't have done 2 cards this quickly)
5/18 Delta Platinum Business

The feedback I got 2 months ago was to wait until May, but I don't want to risk a shut down so I wanted to make sure I haven't missed any recent changes. I want to get the CIC before the bonus changes (if it does) and I am ready for a new minimum spend before I go on a work trip in mid-June.

Please help me decide if I am crazy! Thanks!

Ha, do you live near me? Mine is also due June 6. I was too worried about sending it without the payment coupon so I just mailed a check :(

I just did this. Plastiq sent the check 4/16, it was FINALLY credited yesterday! I called the county last week because I was panicking. The woman who called me back said she hadn't seen it, but then she put me on hold and came back and said another woman got all of those types of payments and entered them in big batches, and she had it. It took another 4-5 days after that call for it to finally show up in my account. I was worried, but it worked.

I wouldn't say that...an entirely new thread has been created since I last checked in! :rotfl2:

I'm in the middle of tallying up my savings, I'll definitely share my totals and a few highlights when I'm done catching up. :thumbsup2

Yikes! I forgot about that! I'll have to go check for new posts.

I think I was at around 65% when I got approved for cip. I do plan on cancelling/reducing CL before I go for another chase card (probably to less than half of where I currently am).

So the Gift Card thread has me now a bit concerned SB since I would have to just now open an account and then proceed to use 8+ transactions... So prob will go back to the Walmart/SAMs sure bet. Now I need to put spend on the CIC, Anyone know if OfficeMax/Depot sells Walmart cards? LOL! TBH I have not walked into the place in years!

You’ll earn 5x UR on Walmart eGift cards from Gyft if you use your CIC via PayPal checkout.

I wonder what I am doing wrong since I'm only at 30% and had to move credit around in order to get the SW Plus and Marriott.
