I love credit cards so much!

I am having a hard time finding a reason to keep my Southwest card. I plan to use up my points on a family trip over Christmas/New Years break, but it really doesn't seem worth keeping anymore.
My AmEx for Delta has more perks.

I called Chase and the rep wasn’t seeing any offer available for me to upgrade my Marriott card. :badpc: She did say I would still get my free night in December which was when I originally applied for the card and I won’t have to wait until May if I choose to upgrade. Is that right?

What is drawing you to MRs? How do you plan to use them? Have you considered the Business Blue+ Card (won’t affect 5/24 status).
wait I just found a great offer for this card..... it's a 20k/5k spend...I have it open right now and I'm afraid to close the link page! It looks like this might be a better offer than the other with the 2x points too... Also- refresher on a biz app please? can I put DH as AU on this without it appearing to mess up his 5/24?

Okay, so if we do the Marriott upgrade then cancel, will that make us ineligible for the sign on bonus for 24 months from when we got the upgrade bonus? I’m getting very close to 24 months since I got the bonus so I was going to cancel once I get my free night certificate and apply for the premiere. If I can get an extra 20,000 Marriott points, I will. But not if that postpones getting the 100,000 points.

well...I have a LOT of chase cards so that's out for me for 2 years (at least) my DH has a lot too, but he'll be 3/24 in a few months, so I'm saving any slots for chase for him. I have played with SPG for a long time,(some hilton amex, etc) and just never gotten as far as MR,and now that I'm considering them,it seems like the logical step for me.(I got interested due to my JB card, and what programs transfer well for that) I like the idea of another biz card for my 'business' what are the DP on how easy/hard it is to get this one? I guess I prefer a good usable program to cashback if I can find it. I'm not a big 'churner'...I enjoy racking up new points obviously, but most of my time is spent maximizing the cards I've got and using them well. I was tossing the idea of the BoA premium and the amex everyday...I could likely get both if I can get a good offer on the 2nd one.
Amex Biz cards are very easy to get. My wife and I EACH got 4 Biz cards in an 8 month time span recently. Love me some AMEX BIZ :)

This is sort of my question. Can I upgrade to Premier Plus, pay the extra $10, get my 10k points and then cancel before 30 days, getting my AF back and still be eligible for another card in 12 months? That feels a little too abusive though.

We also got the 10,000 upgrade offer. The account is exactly 1 year old. We just got the award cert for the free stay yesterday, no AF posted yet, but I did pay it the first year on June 1. We had the 100,000 pt offer and no fee waived.

Edit - I thought I got the cert, apparently I just got an email saying I earned the cert and to look for it.

I'm debating now (always my downfall) between the blue biz 20k/5k offer or one of the referrals for the everyday for 15k/1k. I'm leaning toward the 2nd offer simply b/c of the lower spend....which still gets my foot in there.... ahh advice? I' have no clear idea of MR and values (if it were UR,I'd have no problem picturing it)

I don’t know the answer on that one. If you (or anybody) sees commentary on that please report back :)

Do you have a link for the bluebiz 20k offer? Or are you targeted? Just asking because the only somewhat public offer I know of on that card is the 10k for $3k through support links. The other offers are a little more difficult to score. The everyday is not a bad option BUT it will add to your 5/24 count since it's a personal card.

Another thing you could do to score some quick MRs is double dip a biz green card when you apply. There are support links for 5k MRs after your FIRST purchase. I literally spent $5 on mine and took the 5,000 MRs, lol.

Soooo eagerly awaiting the 95k points for DHs CIP statement to post. (Not because I need them asap, just because I like points, lol). I was trying to figure out his closing date. I thought it was the 2nd. It didn't close. The payment due will be 5/27. What do ya'll think the closing date will be? I found 27th in a blog article on one of the main churning sites.

DoC has a link and it popped up when I clicked it...took a screenshot so I assume that's enough to get the offer right? or do I need to see more when I click thru? incognito mode btw if I were to try double dip, what is the timing on this exactly?

You’re targeted if you logged in thru DoC’s link. If you aren’t targeted it will say offer has expired or something like that.

Regarding the double dip - you would want to apply same day.

Mine closes on the 5th and due date is the 26th if that helps you

When on the cruise our only stop is in Nassau. Been looking at ways to enjoy a nice beach/pool day using points. I have Marriott Points that can be used at Atlantis (35,000 points) then about $70 in fees and still not sure if that covers 2 people or all 4. Then I found Baha Mar which is Hyatt and can get a room there for 20,000 points ( I don't have Hyatt points but do have UR Points). From what I read I don't think there would be any additional fees if paying by points.

Has anyone done either of these before and any preferences from either Atlantis or Baha Mar. I posted on Cruise Critic but no responses yet. I know Baha Mar just opened a year ago and not sure everything is open but it looks fabulous..
Atlantis is themed water park and aquarium fun. Bahamar is swanky luxury. So it really depends on what you're looking for. No water slides or lazy river at Bahamar. Probably lower-key at Bahamar versus high-energy and active at Atlantis (though you can be low-key and relaxed at Atlantis).

Personally, I don't see the point of Bahamar while on a Disney cruise....you're already on an luxury and relaxing vacation, so why spend money (or points) just to go to another luxury and relaxing venue.

regarding double dip, same day, do I wait to see if approved first? I'm leery of the spend to tell the truth. I use my regular budget for spends, and right now I'm focused on discover and FR categories. This is tough call for me at the moment.
ahhhh nevermind... I didn't get it! thanks for the tip tho- I think I'll go for the 15k offer to start then....or can I/should I double dip that one with the green? which should go first if so?

Just saw an offer on the JetBlue Business card for 40k after $1000 spend. $99 AF not waived. Any opinions on this ? Good...bad...wait? I know there was a better offer on the personal just last year but I missed that one...
