I love credit cards so much!

I am looking forward to getting it too, but want to get the 5 Chase cards 1st. But at the rate I'm going the It card offer may be off the table by then. Would love to know how you like it. It does not seem to get much conversation about it but it seems like a good deal to me.
Yeah, I can't see any reason not to get the card. And I wasn't expecting them to be so generous with the credit limit. Highest one I've ever had.
I hope the bonus categories don't overlap too much with Freedom's. They're the same this quarter (which is almost over), but the upcoming quarter is home improvement and wholesale for Discover and groceries for Freedom. So I'll use both a lot until June at least. We'll see what the 3rd and 4th quarters bring for both cards. If they overlap, Discover is going to win out with that matching cash back. No contest.

I hear ya! It is insulting especially when you know your score etc! Hopefully you'll get good news soon. I hate waiting!

I got rejected for the Ink Preferred business card the other day. I was told not enough business income( seasonal rental), business not old enough (1 year). I called in as the message said call in immediately. From what I've read on reddit, I probably shouldn't have called. They didn't ask me anything really. Seems like if you get the 30 day message it's a better sign than the 7 day message.

As far as income goes on the apps, I think it is totally OK to put your combined income if you file taxes joint.

I was trying to find some DP's on 7 day vs 30 day but couldn't find them.

Sorry :( Many of us know that feeling of rejection from Chase. Ugh, it is like a kick in the gut.

I sure hope you get good news by mail from them. Did you apply online or in the branch? Just curious really.
I applied online. I was actually thinking about applying at a branch, but read that it's better not to for business. I was planning on opening a checking and savings account today since I got the $500 offer but my nose was out of joint over the "we need to think about it" message lol.

That's good to know, I think it makes since for me to give up a space on the 5/24 for Discover since I am converting a pole building to a guest house. I am going to need insulation, drywall, windows, doors, complete kitchen with appliances, complete bathroom not to mention all the misc stuff. Is wholesale like Costco and Sam's? Thanks for the info

Ugh! All my pending purchases didn't post before the statement closing date on my first Southwest card. That means I'm going to have to wait another month for my companion pass. Everything but one charge posted - I don't know why the final one is taking so long to post!!

I feel your pain! Did your AF post before the closing date? Here's the odd thing with mine: I paid in full on my personal card a couple of weeks early. Bonus posted. On my business card, I paid the day my account closed. The AF hadn't hit yet. Those bonus points have not posted. 2 weeks have passed....

The AF has not posted. That is odd about the bonus not posting on one of your accounts. Did the AF hit on the personal card that you paid early and that the bonus posted on? I was hoping that my bonus would post when my next statement is generated. The spending points are already on the Southwest RR account linked to the card.

Oh wow, that would really be terrible! This is not nearly that bad!

So I finally applied for the personal southwest card. Approved. Shouldn't be hard to reach the spending requirement for the 50,000 points and that will get DH and I to WDW in November.
Why did they give me a 24,000 limit, though? That seems really high!

A high credit limit should help your credit score though because it will decrease your debt to credit ratio. I got the CSR and they gave me a $34,000 credit limit, which I thought was insane, but my credit score went up quite a bit within 2 months of opening the card.

I got both SW cards and my limits are 26K and 29K. I don't know why, but it makes me nervous to have them so high! I wondered if I could/should ask them to be lowered. I don't know why it bothers me. lol I havent' looked at my score since opening, but it was 850 before I opened the first one. I waited 2 months before opening the 2nd, which I just got in the mail last week.

The AF for the business card posted after the first statement date closed. Not sure if that's the hang up. I went ahead and paid that too hoping the points would post. Still waiting on the bonus.

They gave me insanely high limits on my two SW cards, too. I wouldn't lower them unless you're worried that they might cause too much temptation. The low utilization rate will be good for your credit score, and if you apply for more Chase cards and they go to pending, you have room to negotiate by reallocating credit from a SW card to a new card.

damn. wish i wasnt still in school. saw that JAL from LAX--TPE RT was going for $489. Ive been reading Chase Portal was just a rebrand of Expedia so i checked Chase Portal anyways to see if the same results generate. I can fly the same LAX--TPE on JAL for $489, but with CSR, it brings it down to 32k UR pts or $320. DAAAAAMN... that is cheap!

Ok, I am hoping I could get some opinions on applying for a new card.

I have the CSR card and am thinking about opening another Chase card to augment my UR points. I plan to keep the CSR card long term, since I easily break even just with a few work trips each year. I don't have a specific personal trip planned right now, so I am thinking that this is a good way to "add on" without having to commit to anything specific.

I could get the CSP. It would give another 50,000 UR points and is fee-free for the first year. I would then plan to cancel it after the first year since I don't need both CSP and CSR.

Or I was looking at the Chase Ink Business Preferred. It would give my 80,000 UR points and if I apply in branch, it would also be fee-free for the first year. I would also cancel this card before the end of the first year since I probably wouldn't break even on the annual fee given the categories. My question for this card is, how much "business income" do you think I would need to report in order to qualify? I have earned money from contracting work and selling on eBay, but it hasn't been tons.

And just for reference, my credit score is around 825, so it should be plenty high to qualify for any card.

Any other suggestions? I had considered the Marriott card, mostly because I am an SPG loyalist and this would augment my existing horde of points. I already had the SPG card, so I can't get that bonus again (unfortunately).

My next card will be CSP. My plan is to downgrade it to CFU then use that as my main card. I also have Marriott and CSR which I plan on keeping as well as CF.

u have a freedom and freedom unlimited yeah? if you get another CSP, you can try product changing it to a CS, then down to a CFU or CF before your year is up. YMMV.

Have u considered Ink Cash? that card opens up a huge category for you. might be worth the 30k UR pts instead of the 80k. I have the Ink+ but this card is almost the same cat. This is my highest earning UR card.
you could... get a preferred, then see if you can product change it to Ink Cash. YMMV. I have heard of people getting it with like 20k income. its def depends on your relationship with Chase. If you need DP, id check flyertalk.
Id consider waiting maybe another month before applying for the Preferred though. theres rumors of a way around the business manager for 100k.

I don't have the Freedom (but DH does and we transfer his earnings to my CSR) or Freedom Unlimited (I have Capital One Quicksilver, which is the same but works better for us with no foreign fees).

I hadn't considered the Ink Cash, but I will add it to my list.

What is DP?

And what do you mean by a way around the business manager?

Well, with the Freedom Unlimited, u earn 1.5x. then u transfer it to a CSR. I would rather earn UR points than Capital One points. works out to 3x? redemption on Chase portal. i didnt do the math. As for the Freedom, if you guys max out 1 card, u guys can try to max out the 2nd card. many ppl have 2 freedom cards to max out.
DP = datapoint. Theres a forum all about business cards, on how ppl qualify for it.

In order to get the 100k, u need to go through a business manager with a big business account with chase. I think people are trying to find a way around that to get the 100k.

The 1.5x from CFU transferred to CSR works out to 2.25x because it is a 50% bonus, not a 100% bonus. I won't be opening a CFU just for that, but I might consider downgrading another card to the CFU later.

We haven't come close to maxing out Q1 on the Freedom, so I don't really want to get another one at this point. Next quarter should be easier for us though. This was DH's first credit card in his name alone. He moved from Canada when we got married and I had to add him as an authorized used on 2 of my cards in order to build up his credit enough that he didn't have to get a stupid secured card. I was pretty happy when his application for the Freedom was approved.

I will look into the business cards more, but I wouldn't have anywhere close to 20k in business revenue to claim.
