I love credit cards so much!

Quick question- Will be heading to WDW in August. We won't have the dining plan. I think during July-Sept, Chase Freedom 5% bonus is for restaurants. So, I'm going to use my Freedom card to charge meals to maximize UR points, rather than charge to my magic band. If I charge to magic band, the credit card will code those costs as resort/travel, not restaurants. I know this is a silly question, but WDW restaurants code as restaurants not resort/travel, right? Just checking so I can save ahead for the next vacation!

Some do and some don't. Ive had restaurant purchases at WDW code as merchandise even though there was no merchandise in he restaurant to buy.

I went through the SW website and did the Business one first. That is the one with 60K. My train of thought was as long as I got approved for that I knew the CP was possible. I'm not sure what the pros think.
What is funny is my bonus points posted within a few days of paying my personal bill. I'm still waiting going on 2 weeks for the business card. Hoping the points hit before our flight next week!
I like that thought process, I will apply for Business 1st, followed immediately by the personal. So why do you want the points to post before your flight next week? Oh right, you went for the CP, that makes sense. Thanks

I just applied for the 2 personal cards for DH - I was afraid he would have to talk to someone if I did the business card in his name.

Even though I applied for both on the same day, one has a due date of 4/15 and one is 5/1. I'm sitting on pins and needles hoping that the $2,000 I put on the first one will post to the account before the statement closes. It's sitting there pending and I'd imagine my statement will process today or tomorrow - please go through lol!

I need to starting researching the best cards to put some spend on - our oldest DD is going on a study abroad program called Semester at Sea and it looks like you can put it on a credit card without any fees. I could definitely hit some minimum spend levels with that! Decisions, decisions...

I do too, although I think I read that you can't open more than 2 in 90 days (a 2/90 rule or something) I need to check that out, I'll be bummed if it's true. That will be great if you can pay for her study abroad program on your cc without fees! Plus you will have to visit her so you will get all of those travel points.

I tried to apply for SW business last night. I think their site was experiencing issues as I did not get a confirmation or any immediate messages or messages sent to my email. I went to my online account this AM to see if it indicated receipt or in progress, there was no messages or acknowledgements that I had applied. I did see that I had a limited time offer of $500 for opening a checking and savings. The instructions indicate you have to print the page and take it into a branch. Since I am going to be out and about today I am just going to do that. Should I apply for the two SW cards when I'm at the branch?

:worried: Applied for SW business, (using my rental income for business) and combined mine and my husbands income for the personal income. Received the we need to review your request a little longer will contact me by mail within 30 days.

Applied for the SW personal, using only my income and received the same message. Whoa is me sad am I :worried:

Maybe it's just me but it feels a bit like a kick in the gut, rejection s***s.

I hear ya! It is insulting especially when you know your score etc! Hopefully you'll get good news soon. I hate waiting!

I got rejected for the Ink Preferred business card the other day. I was told not enough business income( seasonal rental), business not old enough (1 year). I called in as the message said call in immediately. From what I've read on reddit, I probably shouldn't have called. They didn't ask me anything really. Seems like if you get the 30 day message it's a better sign than the 7 day message.

As far as income goes on the apps, I think it is totally OK to put your combined income if you file taxes joint.

Hey guys! Question!

Has anyone booked a "Park Sleep Fly" hotel package via Chase's travel portal?

Here's the deal. We're flying out of Raleigh (RDU) when we go in December, and we want to spend the night before in an RDU area hotel that offers Park Sleep Fly (1 night at hotel, parking for the duration of our trip to Disney, and free airport shuttle to and from hotel). The hotel is a Holiday Inn Express and I can book it via Chase's travel portal, but I want to be sure to get the Park Sleep Fly deal and don't see that specifically.

Do I just book normally and pay for the "park" part when we arrive? I know I can contact the hotel to ask, I just thought I'd check here and see if anyone has booked a "park sleep fly" room via Chase's travel portal.

Thanks!

Sorry :( Many of us know that feeling of rejection from Chase. Ugh, it is like a kick in the gut.

I sure hope you get good news by mail from them. Did you apply online or in the branch? Just curious really.

I just sent a SM to product change my Preferred to a Freedom Unlimited. They told me that could not be done but I could apply for the new card and close the other card. Did I ask too early? I opened the Preferred account on 3/23/16. IF so, should I wait another week and ask again? What to do?

ask them why. if they said its cuz your year is not up, then ask again.

FYI it probably has to do with the year and the inability to change the terms of your card within a year. When you downgrade, you keep the same card number. The Points Guy has a full explanation: https://thepointsguy.com/2016/08/when-can-i-downgrade-card/

I don't trust Freedom to have a Wholesale Club category this year, and I need more discounted Disney gift cards, so I just applied for and got a Discover It. Hee hee. And they match all of your cash back for the first year!

We are flying from RDU this August and we found a Hotel that shuttles you to the airport and has free parking for 14 days after check in. Staybridge Suites on Airport Blvd.

So I totally changed things around today after deciding that I don't want the choice card since I already have a barclay card and they just raised the limit within the last week. Plus it has foreign transaction fees and this would be my only visa and I wanted the option along with my mastercard. I decided the club carlson wasn't right for me either. Knowing I couldn't meet the min spend of the Chase Saphire I decided on the Hyatt card with the 2 free nights and got instantly approved. My first chase card :) I think it will be fun to stay at a hyatt in Paris. I'll also be happy to have a visa I can use at Costco so I get something for my gas and can use it for my contacts and glasses so I get something.

My next step will be after my May vacation is seeing if barclay will change my american card to the arrival because I don't fly american enough and had it when it was us.

I am looking forward to getting it too, but want to get the 5 Chase cards 1st. But at the rate I'm going the It card offer may be off the table by then. Would love to know how you like it. It does not seem to get much conversation about it but it seems like a good deal to me.
