I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

looking for a dp
used URs to book Hilton (3 nights 60k UR vs 180k hilton points). it shows up on my honors account. does that mean I'll be treated as a diamond member and earn points?

2nd: citi AA, other than free bags any outstanding reason to keep?

thanks

Thanks for the details! I'll look through your TR. Very good point about responsible boats. We've decided to play it by ear and wait until we're there to decide if we want to take a boat tour (and if it's available). It sounds like in Feb, one can just go to the beach and see them.

Yeah, I think it's totally fine to play it by ear. Yes, you can see the whales play offshore from the beach and depending what beach (the WA beach for example has great viewing), you'll get better views than others. However, you really can't replicate the experience of seeing them up close from a boat. It's a totally different experience, in my opinion. And the kids will learn so much.

Not sure how long you'll be in Cabo, but there's this savings card that might be helpful if you are planning on doing a lot of activities.

That's a lot of day trips! Any particular place you really enjoyed?
Our trip plans ultimately had to change so the only day trip we got to do was Bruges. It was such a cute town, very walkable, although very busy with tourists. Highlights from our visit included the De Halve Mann brewery tour, the Beguinage, a canal tour, the Church of Our Lady, Basillica of the Holy Blood, and The Old Chocolate House.

We have to go back to do everything else I had originally planned.

The talk of using URs to pay for a cruise has intrigued me. But it looks like I have to call Chase travel, is that correct?
I actually have a deposit down on a Carnival cruise already- does anyone know if I can pay the balance with URs?

You have to call Chase Cruise and Tours . Usually when I call, I have Cruise Line, Cruise Date, Ship and Room # I want. I also know the pricing to make sure what they see is the same. You can only pay with UR's once. You may be able to transfer the booking to Chase and then pay with UR's. I think I did this once before - and had to fill out a form for this. I would call Chase and ask.

For those of that have been to Italy, which type of train ticket did you purchase? The base fare or the changeable day/time fare?

If you purchased the changeable one, did you end up changing your ticket time? I need to buy tickets for Rome-->Florence and Florence-->Venice.

Another week, and no points. I am getting concerned, I don't think I have ever had them take this long.
Last CIP was a referral from dd; dd (me) had to SM them after 2 months to get the referral points (got the points within a few days after that)

I always get biz class, chose my seat (like the solo seats) and always book the fare that allows changes. I've had to cancel at least one trip (got $ back) and move dates a few times (no issues). I prefer TrenItalia, but would use Italo if the times were better for me. I always book the quiet car, but in reality people seem to disregard this designation (I always have my noise cancelling airpods with my so not an issue)

I've booked two Princess cruises using URs. I initally booked through Princess. Have to transfer w/in 60 days. Not sure what Carnival's rule is. If you can transfer it, then you can pay the balance with URs. Just can only make one payment with URs.
