In contrast, I had a United card in 2018, cancelled in 2019. It still shows I’m a cardmember when I login, and I get free baggage and it gives me discounted card member rates when I search for flights. I’ve used the free baggage successfully on a flight recently. I’m not complaining, lol.

Hi all! It’s been awhile, but I’m back and hoping for some expert help. The Citi Strata Elite now has the 100k offer on the Citi website - I applied and got approved last night. I’ve heard rumblings of a double dip possibility with Citi cards, but I haven’t been able to find good specifics anywhere - hoping someone here can shed some light on the exact timing, etc? Has everyone set up their new Atmos account? All of my Alaska miles are gone since I did so. I gave it a week to see if they just got stuck in purgatory during the transition but they are still not there. Did I miss a step? Were we supposed to do something special to get those transferred? I really need to book a trip and I can't find the miles!

Did you have an Alaska mileage account before?

I didn't have to do anything with mine, it changed over on its own. My login and balance are the same. Only thing that changed is I like their app less because od how they changed the login part.

I didnt have Alaska before only Hawaiian and it had me create a new login, it issued me a new Atmos account # and all my miles etc transferred over right away.

I think it depends on a lot of things like the card issuerer, the airline/hotel, and the timing. DH downgraded a Brilliant mid January, but he kept Platinum status over a year after. Marriott status gets checked in February. So I think the info didn't get over that first Feb after downgrading, so he didn't lose it until the next Feb check.

Thank you. After doing a bit of searching it looks like IHG updates status in January. I have a stay booked in December using DW's FNC and just wanted to be sure we would still be able to get the status benefits.

So, I have a CSP and P2 has the CSR...

I normally use my URs at Hyatt. Should I go ahead and combine all our URs to P2's CSR (just in case) and only move them back to my CSP if I need them to book Hyatt?

I forgot that I have the BizCSR. Should I combine all my URs to my BizCSR instead of transferring them to P2's CSR?

I think I am starting to over think things! Lol.

I don't think any of this applies to the CSR biz because the card started after the changes.

Is there an end date for the elevated SW Performance SUB of 120K? I like being able to earn the CP with one card, DH did that with the other SW Biz card 2 years ago. But I'm at 5/24 until November (thanks Atmos Summit and Citi Strata Elite, lol).

Fantastic! So glad you have things in motion. Yes Portree is super popular in the summer and books quickly. I have stayed at The Rosedale twice. It’s quirky and was originally 3 separate fishing cottages that are now combined. There is no elevator so be aware of that if there are mobility issues. I’d send an email if it looks like they are booked out just in case. The online booking is a bit janky.

I have also stayed at Cuillin Hills Hotel which is lovely but expensive. If you have an evening on your own definitely recommend at least booking dinner reservations there.

We are planning to fly to Edinburgh from Paris after DLP and then doing a 3 day tour with Rabbies while there to Isle of Skye. I should be able to find hotels in Edinburgh, as there are plenty to choose here.

The Rabbies tour we are looking at will overnight in Portree for 2 nights and does not include accommodations but they can make reservations for them for us and then we will pay the hotel or B&B directly. I looked in June and accommodation availability is scarce already in Portree.

Can I ask where you stayed? I'd rather pay more to choose my own lodgings but will go through the tour company if we have no other options.

We thought about the 4-5 day tours and I was getting tired thinking about the hours in the vehicle. I didn't want travel burn out. We have port intensive cruises before and after Scotland. If we love it, we will be back I think,

One more response to @SleepyatDVC and quoting myself. I forgot that we also stayed at The Broadford on our 2017 visit in Skye. It's the original home of Drambuie. That was also a nice stay but we were only there for one night. They are quite a distance from the Rosedale and Portree harbor area though

DH has an upgrade offer on his AmEx Gold - it's for 75,000 points for $6,000 spend on the plat card. I'm thinking about taking it because we need a new SUB, but I don't think I can make the regular Plat spend, so wondering if this is worth it.

We are currently working on the 120,000 point SW card so I need to wait until January to finish that spend. Also finishing up a CIU spend in my name. Since I might end up getting the SW biz card to finish the CP for DH, I hate to outright apply for another card for him.

My questions: If I took the upgrade offer, can I use my October Gold benefits - uber, dunkin & dining credit, as well as the 6 month Resy credit, before upgrading?

His gold card annual fee posted 5/18/25 - would I get refunded for partial year and then charged the entire year of the plat card now?

Has he had the plat before? If not, taking the upgrade will lock him out of the SUB in the future.

The Uber credit is already in your account, it won't get taken away. The rest it would be safer to wait until the credits post to upgrade. Upgrade offers do sometimes disappear though.

You would be refunded the prorated gold AF and then charged a prorated plat AF. The full year plat AF won't be charged until 5/18/26. At which point, you can't cancel or downgrade because it hasn't been a year after the upgrade. You'll need to remember to wait the full year, then you can downgrade back to gold for prorated AF refund (no refund if you cancel by that point).

Booked the 2 nights I wanted next sept at Tokyo station hotel. Am hoping I get my fnc soon and there's still availability to swap it out for one od the nights. The nights bookend the trip so no issues that way.

Now just waiting for Hilton Tokyo bay to open for September. And DL/AS to open so I can get my flight home from lax. If the flight times are the same as late Aug I'll book one on both, my dream time and then backup.

Personally I would wait until you can meet the spend and apply new. Right now we have an offer or 175k points for 8k spend. An extra 100k points for only an extra 2k spend is pretty great.

The offer ends 10/22. Being at 5/24 means you won't be able to make it. But, perhaps your husband could do it. My understanding is SW treats the two business cards independently. They allow you to have both and earn both SUB's.

Would it be crazy to spend $195 on an authorized platinum user so ds could use fhr for one night at Portofino Bay? I’m trying to come up with a mini vacation for him and his gf and thought they could drive to Orlando, spend a night on my Hilton points, spend one night at PB and get two-day park-to-park tickets, then go spend some time with my mom in SW FL.

Dealing with a lot of stress at work and trying to figure something out for ds who’s going through a lot plus trying to figure out if I go spend Thanksgiving with my mom (no one else is going down) may legitimately do me in.

Guys, we just got back from Yellowstone NP.

None of the pictures anywhere do this park justice. None of the things you read do it justice. It was one of my favorite trips of all time -- and I've been to some really great places!! I want to say thanks to all of you who've written trip reports here on YNP. They helped me plan. The only disappointment with this trip was the government shut down - and that's only because they stopped reporting the geyser predicitons on day 3 of our trip. Boo.

But anyway -- if you haven't been to YNP put it on your list!

We loved it too. My phone wallpaper and lockscreen are Yellowstone and Grand Tetons pics. The pic I have of Tetons is probably the best photo I’ve ever taken. People have said it literally looks like a postcard.
