I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Le Narcisse Blanc is supposed to be a VERY nice hotel -- I'm sure you'll have an amazing stay! I like the Grand Hotel du Palais Royal, which is also very centrally located and just a 2 min walk from a tube station. I prefer to stay around the 1st, but many people prefer the left bank and 1 day I might relocate there for my trips!
Make sure that you visit rue du Faubourg to see the lights on the LV and Chanel stores as well as the 'snow' globe! Also if you like souffles, Le Souffle is nice and it books up fast (they never have walk-in tables); you can book easily online in advance. I've eaten there on 2 different trips, not sure if I will again, but def had memorable meals both times!
Thank you! I am definitely going to look into that!

Just a vent. DH applied for CIC and was denied. Got email there is a letter but no letter is showing up (yet) Uggh. Want to know the reason. He is 2/24 and last card was Dec 2024. Has 2 Inks (just closed one). That is first vent. Second is it shows he has a green star approved offer for a CIP. Then why deny the CIC! ok vent over.

When was the Ink closed?

Back from my first ever cruise. I wasn't sure I'd like a cruise but now I'm hooked. I was on NCL which has a great product for solos - lounge, M&Gs, group dining reservations, no/low supplement. I really enjoyed it. Best part was the itinerary - London, Bruges, Amsterdam, 3 ports in Norway and 3 ports in Iceland. I also think I want to go back and do a land tour of Norway - my favorite stops of the trip.

Flights over to London on AA biz booked through Alaska 55K miles; back on United economy 30K miles. Best part it was from and back to home airport with no positioning needed.

I hope that you do a trip report!! I've been eyeing these for next fall. 👀

Funny you ask because my alert just hit and I booked the remaining 2 nights I wanted at the WA. So 5 nights, all on FNC. If it hadn't opened up, I would have just done 3 nights. Booked UA awards with return flights for both 3 and 5 nights.

Going late October. I hope the reno doesn't get pushed back. But I don't feel too attached to the trip, would just try again some other time. Now if I had booked at a lower points rate and it got pushed back, I would be very upset. But with FNC, makes no difference.

If anyone is looking for the WA Los Cabos - almost all of November and first 3 weeks of December are wide open.

Rumored 9/19 change is for both Amex plat and biz plat. Hotel credit change appeared on Amex website and then was taken down. Airline credit change was a screenshot (so maybe less certain). But no downside to using them up in case they reset.
That's amazing. I hope you have a great time there. DH and I love that place - it's not so far away and it's a nice relaxing getaway. :) We burned all of our FNCs for now, so I can't book it at the moment, but thanks for the heads up on availability.

Yup. Another thing I don't buy LOL I do need to book a cheap FHR or Hotel collection stay before then and see if the $300 gets added on top of things.
I can use the Lulu credits much easier than the Saks ones, but they have very limited offerings compared to Saks so I can understand people not happy about this change. I suspect the Saks employees will be happy to not have to constantly issue $50 gift cards, though. :rotfl:

Thank you, a lot to think about. We are not tied to a particular airline, just NOT air canada. We are on the east coast and have multiple major cities nearby so we have flexibility in where we fly out of. So I was more asking not if we needed multiple cards but which cards are more likely to be the best in terms of bonuses, etc to sign up with. Should we stick with chase or go with an airline card like the Gold Delta or AA advantage or flip over to the Capital one cards.
Perhaps there is no answer to that question. So let me ask this.
I currently have the CSP, if I get another chase card, is there one you would recommend? I get offers for the ink business card but I do jot own a business. May be a dumb question but can I get this card?
I prefer to go with Chase or Amex (or you could choose Citi or CapOne) because those points will give you the most flexibility when booking flights. If you have airline points, you're restricted to that airline and its partners, which limits which flights you can choose. If you already have Chase points, getting an Ink would be an easy way to add to that stash. If you already have a lot of points, I'd suggest looking at flights now. I'm going in 2026 and have had my flights booked for a while now. You already got some great advice regarding airlines, so I won't repeat it. :)

IIRC you have a young adult niece you love to spoil...hair ties/head bands and socks are wildly overpriced but easily hit the $75/quarter (rumored) Plat allowance so that might be an idea for stocking stuffers. Some are also saying gift cards will be reimbursable too, but I'd want more DPs before I committed to those, but they did stack, that would be maybe one gym outfit a year for her, LOL. Since my DD steals my silk hair ties, I'm actually looking forward to lulu's credits for my thieving child

Well, I just went ahead and applied for the Chase Biz IHG card and I got a "review" message. Fingers crossed!

Thanks all for your advice.
Update: Fraud prevention called me this morning (I had them saved as a contact so I knew who it was before I answered). The confirmed I applied yesterday, I said yes, they placed me "on a brief hold," and then came back on and I was approved. Fairly low CL ($5000) but it makes sense in terms of my low revenue :)

Haha you’re not wrong and she likes Lululemon. I figured I’d pick some things up for her until my next AF hits and I decide whether or not I keep it. If gift cards trigger the credit like in store Saks then that will also factor.
