I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Office Depot has master card gift cards as spend $300 and get $15 off. I bought three $200 gift cards with my CIC and the total came out to $593. We haven’t done the whole gift card thing in a while but our UR balance is getting low and we keep getting denied by Chase

Mini trip report from Yellowstone. Returned 2 weeks ago. It was beautiful and we saw so much. We stayed at 3 different places: Mammoth Hot Springs Frontier Cabin 1 night, Old Faithful Snow Lodge Frontier cabin 2 nights and Canyon Lodge Western Cabin 2 nights.

We flew into Bozeman on Sunday, shopped for groceries at Winco and picked up 2 foam coolers. We bought stuff for breakfast & lunches plus some snacks. Had late lunch/early dinner then drove to Mammoth Hot Springs. Cabin was nice, small but cozy. Chose all cabins for price and private bath. This one was not fancy but clean. No coffee maker, no internet, bathroom with a small shower, sink outside bathroom so one person could shower, another could use sink to get ready. Drove through upper Hot Springs area, had ice cream & a little Internet) at the Grill saw a herd of elk then bed.

In the morning we saw more hot springs then just stuck to the Grand Loop drive. No internet, no GPS. Best $ I spent for the whole trip was the GuideAlong tour for Yellowstone & Grand Tetons. $30 (used UR in portal) and the app was able to tell where we were and best things to see/do as we drove along. I often couldn't tell where on the map we were, so frequently just followed the app and took any recommended detours/drives. Huge traffic jam approaching the Old Faithful area. Finally got to the hotel area but the traffic was nuts and it's all one way so if you passed where you needed to be you had to go out and back around. The Snow Lodge cabins were our least favorite. It was hard to find, behind the gas station, maintenance area and gift shop with gravel drive and tons of pot holes. Looked more maintenance area than guest area plus we were given incorrect info from the front desk at check-in so had trouble getting to our cabin. Cabin was low ceiling, very narrow. Beds were listed queen but were full (I have a queen at home) and were against the wall so one person had to climb out the end or over the other person to get in/out. There was a table and coffee maker here which was a bonus. 2 nights here exploring the area and covered more ground than expected so decided to take the opportunity to see Grand Tetons as well.

Grand Tetons were beautiful, postcard stunning. Used the GuideAlong app for this as well. Just drove straight down to Jackson and back. Hit lots of traffic and construction in Jackson so by the time we headed back north it was raining and close to 7 pm. We made it back before dark but everything was closed so we had difficulty finding ice for the cooler. The next morning my son opened the door to a bison strolling by so that was pretty cool.

Headed next to Canyon Lodge. Huge line for check-in but they moved pretty quickly. This is a huge resort with lots of building and cabins. Much more modern and had internet, multiple options for food and large cabins. The cabin was the only one with a tub, windows with a wooded view, Internet!, a table and chairs, coffee maker, dresser. It was our favorite but also 2x the price of the others. The canyon was lovely, we saw a brown bear twice, deer, elk, marmots. Used the GuideAlong app again to Lamar Valley and back. Saw a herd of bison with lots of calves and a grizzly (mostly just the butt because there was a ranger making sure no one stopped and got out of their car.) Ate at the restaurant on site for dinner and breakfast the next day. By this time we were out of breakfast food anyway. We ate 2 meals a day from groceries we purchased and 1 meal out until Friday. On Friday we packed up and headed towards Lamar Valley again, the towards Mammoth Hot Springs hoping to drive Blacktail Plateau trail but it was closed. We ended up spending a bit more time at Mammoth Spring before heading out to Bozeman. Stayed overnight in Bozeman and flew home Saturday.

Thank you I was wondering if the steel was gonna come soon as I have some Chase offers as well!!

lol that was the same for me.

I just got my water bill and use these cards since it doesn’t code as utilities I can’t use my cash+ or whatever card has utilities on Q3.

I have the offer on 5 cards with 2 straight 10% and the others were 5% but one of those was a CIC so effectively 10% as well I have two more in the area that I can check. Fingers crossed.

So got the instant ink approval because I already spent a grand over the msr on my current card, and we are camping so I don’t have it yet. Just spent $1600 and 6 hours at the emergency vet on the same old card. Always the first thought when we have a big bill, “dang it I don’t have my new card yet”.
Supposedly you can add the card to your phone.
Under the personal side click a card and then Manage Account-> Digital Wallets
You can then pick Apple, Google, PayPal or paze
My business cards didn’t have an add under Apple Pay or PayPal but a couple of personal cards did. Under Google Pay one biz card was available to add but not sure how to use that since I have an iPhone..

I asked the guy if they were pulled into the back or sold out. He said OD doesn't handle the GC stocking a 3rd party does so he cant even tell me when they will be back.

Side note: OD has so many unexpected finds. I went in exclusively for GC's and came out owning a Monopoly / Scrabble mashup board game. Should be fun since I am a die hard scrabble fan but everyone else in the family is all about Monopoly. (insert a flip over the table emoji here)

This one is a biz card and I clicked everything possible to see if I could add it to my wallet. No luck.

That's interesting. I have gone into my local OD and asked about GC not on display (not MC or Visa GC, just regular ones). The woman went into the back and brought out a shoebox sized box with a bunch; found some Disney and some Amazon in there.

Hmmm that is what I fully expected, that they had been pulled to the back. I saw the sign for the $15 off on the counter behind the register.

Tangent here, but "no GPS" doesn't make sense. Much of the Grand Loop drive is out in the open, not under trees. You should have had no trouble getting a signal from the GPS satellites most of the time. Are you sure you didn't mean that you had a GPS signal but couldn't view your position on a map because you didn't have an offline map stored on your mobile device?

Where are you located? I've noticed better rewards on Flying Blue out of Canada - we are near CLE so I've been looking at flights out of Toronto for next year, have found a number of 60K rewards in Biz.
I'm in the southeast U.S., but thanks for this info. I'm always willing to reposition so I will keep that option in mind. Sometimes its fun to add a day at the start in a city where I've never been.
If you stalk them, I often find flights on AF for 60k pp one way in J. With some stalking AA can be had for 57.5K pp each way in J.

I was lucky enough to find that award pricing for flights back home in January from London. The taxes and fees were high but still much less than a one way or even RT in economy. So, I have no problem girl/Disney mathing this to, my flight is less than a coach ticket in real money and I upgraded it with miles to a lie flat seat. That works for me LOL

I try to look for J seats at less than 150k pp each way. I wouldn't hesitate to book 121K in J, but I'd still check as time goes on for a lower redemption that I could re-book the flight at just in case. Well, depending on the cancellation/rebooking policy for the airline and how much I would be saving in miles.
Thanks for this info. It's good to know what the best deals have been recently. I also use that same math when it comes to J seats and definitely stalk the rates even after I book. I ended up saving a lot of Sky Miles last year only 2 weeks before my Japan trip. I almost booked our tix for 121K, but decided to wait until the U.S. airlines release those same dates.

Was inspired to check my Chase offers. One card had the 5%, my CIC. I've worn out the OD/OM I guess, with my usual 6 to 7 offers.
