I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Yes. I've booked on opening day for Gold Castaway Club. And yes, you can make payments. I think you can make the payments on their website unless you are using Disney gift cards which is what I do. Then they have to call Disney.

I think I've used them for five or six of my eight Disney Cruises. Really had zero issues.
sorry for the question but I wasnt able to find it. How do i add my Castaway Club number to Costco? i wanted to make sure I didn't miss it. When the next round we want opens up. Im assuming its at time of booking? I just wonder how they check if that makes sense.

I have only done the transfer over to Costco. I’ve already paid the deposit through DCL. I haven’t made any other payments yet….. hoping it goes smoothly because I’ll be using giftcards…. this is my first Disney cruise and my first booking with Costco
I know lots of people use Costco to book DCL and love it but I prefer to use a travel agent that gives OBB. It’s not as much as the perk you get from Costco, but much less hassle.

My only experience with Costco was with a cruise I wanted to book on opening day and I spent several hours on the phone with Costco waiting to talk to an agent and then again waiting for them to call DCL. My TA does all that for me and I spend minutes instead of hours.

What's the benefit of booking through Costco? I know lots of people do it, but I've always done a travel agent for the OBB as well

I’ve done both ways and I tend to prefer Costco because I feel like I’m not hassling someone. I felt like i was driving my ta nuts whereas with Costco I just call the 800 number and never feel like im annoying someone. I don’t need much help so I don’t need a dcl expert.

They asked when I called in to book dcl for the first time. Once they have it, you are set.

yes you should be able to but have you cross shopped it? meaning is costco a better price? I just reach out to my travel agent I havent actually shopped anything in a while, I probably should.

October 26th I have a reminder on my calendar to have a new travel card by th
chase travel with a cruise....would booking thru them using CSP net me any of the newer perks?like the points boost or extra $50 etc (I honestly am trying to figure out how any apply to me at this point still)

Still trying to figure out if CSR is my best option. Currently put all our spending on our Southwest card and use all our points for Southwest flights. Is Chase the only CC that you can transfer your points to Southwest? I haven't seen Southwest listed on any other CCs. Since we are starting to use other carriers in addition to Southwest, wondering if we would be better off with more of a cash back type card?

We have both CSR and Amex platinum-- for those who've used them recently, is one better than the other when it comes to car rentals? Haven't rented a car in over a decade 🙃

You can always redeem Chase ultimate rewards for cash at a one cent per point rate right in your bank account if you want a cashback card that also allows you better value when traveling.

Yes, Chase ultimate rewards are the only platform that transfer to Southwest

The CSR offers primary rental car coverage meeting. You don’t have to involve your car insurance company.

The platinum card is secondary coverage meaning you have to call your insurance company first.

Regardless, what card you book with you need to decline the rental car coverage from wherever you’re renting from

This makes sense! I have felt that way, too. I may need to consider de Costco CC then

Being in the Chase Ultimate Rewards ecosystem might give you more flexibility. Combine a Chase Freedom Flex for 5x quarterly bonuses with a CSR/CSP or CIP(if you can get biz cards) for transferability to partners. This way you will retain the ability to transfer to Southwest if needed, but also opens up transfer opportunities to other airline and hotel partners. If nothing works, then cash out is also an option.

If you have held your southwest cards for a long time - might also be worth considering a plan to cancel those cards and reapply later this year with the goal of obtaining the companion pass.

I'm deciding which cards to add the the MDE for purchases through the app like Lightning Lane passes and mobile orders, etc. Anyone know if any category other than dining is useful on the Citi Custom Cash for the 5% category? I already have a 3X hotel card for Magicband purchases.
