I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

do you have Global Entry on your account? Ive been using it out of JFK/LGA its been awesome its faster then clear or precheck.
I do. I looked into it. While we can link our KTN on our Non-Rev travel, it won't link our "delta customer" profile (even though you check in on the delta app like a customer). So it'll only assign us TSA precheck, not digital. There have been mornings the digital ID line is just as long too though. I think I read it's supposed to be coming to employees. We fly Friday, I guess I'll see.

im not sure how i got enrolled then, i remember a pop up opting in. It seems to use the same identical scanners as global entry I dont even remember handing them an ID if that makes sense, I also find it funny where people refuse to opt in even though the goverment already has that information :)

Can anyone confirm if you can add a KTN during check in with JAL? Didn’t have it when we booked the tickets but we have it now.
I did going out of Seattle if its close you might have to do it at the airport (like 48 hours) did you book with JAL you can do it on their site I have mine from BA i want to say its been a few years.

I booked on their site. I’ve gone into the reservation and there’s no way to add it online (I have to say they have a terrible user experience). I don’t know if another option shows up when it’s time to check in.

I have Delta employee travel (aka free). So the digital ID +TSA precheck isn't working for us. I read it's because the digital id is tided to your sky miles account. And since we don't get miles or credit when flying free, it doesn't trigger the digital id. I guess it's something that should be fixed at some point. But if you could see Delta's IT, you'd understand why the meltdown happened last year. There are some systems I swear predate MS-Dos. I mean they are using the F keys to "save" in some of, them, LOL.

I set up my digital ID, but for some reason it doesn't ever show I have it (just checked and it's in my account as Opt In. I guess maybe I'll have to ask in one of the Delta non-rev goups). Maybe it's because we're flying non-rev. I guess if I'm not w/ the BF I could try the Westin. KCM is right by TSA precheck, so I normally meet him once I finally get through. But the Westin doesn't have precheck I know too. At least that's what they told me when I was flying to STL w/ my son for the Frozen Four. So are you removing everything and taking off shoes?
I've only went through the Westin once when I was staying there and there was no one else going through. I don't know if they saw the pre-check and treated it as such or if they have it normally. I don't usually stay there and it's longer to walk over there than just go through the normal pre-check or digital ID line. Sometimes my digital ID doesn't show up on the app, sometimes the pre-check doesn't. I fault Deltas gitchy app but now I just make sure to get it fixed before I go through. I get their IT is old, you'd be surprised that that is the norm at most large companies. I work for a Fortune 200 company and our main system is the old green screen using F keys that looks like something out of the 1980's. I was training a recent college grad on it the other day and we were joking about it because they, of course, had never seen anything like it. Most companies are operating on work arounds right now because most of our systems don't talk to each other.

SW was running a sale last week, the prices were crazy. I was able to book the flights I needed after the sale for better pricing. What is going on with SW?
I have seen that for years on SW since I check our flights daily, the prices after a sale are sometimes better than before but not always

So of course this is how it goes right? BF gets the Marriott card w/ 5 FNC. He loads the car to his Apple Pay, and we decide we'll have him spend $1200 on DS's new skates. The card reader wasn't working at the store. I wasn't there, so the spend when onto my BF's CSP. My basement is backing up w/ water. I think if I get out of this cheap, it'll be $1500. Again, his card isn't here. And I don't have any cards I have to put the spend on. I guess I'll do the surpass to hit the FNC faster. So that's $2500 we've just "lost" out on. Worst case scenario w/ the water in my basement and I'm looking at a $15k+ spend. So I'm hoping it's just $2500 we missed out on, and I'm not back here tomorrow asking about what card for $15k.

I want to apply for the Marriott next for my DD. I think we've hit the spend on her CSP. I'm close to meeting the spend on my Hilton Honors. So we need something to work on. I got her the CSP back in April. I figured just to be safe, I'm going to wait until Weds to apply for her, because the CSP has $4700 on it about to be paid down, LOL.

I just hate when it rains it pours. My DS also tore the bumper off his brand new car. He's had his license all of 18 days when he did it. Normally I'd be upset about the $500 deductible. But the dealership covers your deductible up to $500! Now to see what happens to his insurance rates. He's on my ex's policy as I've carried our DD and she's had 2 claims already. UGH.

Have any of you used a car service to pick up at Heathrow?
The Lizzie line is faster and MUCH less expensive to get into the city than a car service. I’d take transit and save the $$ for something special in the city!

We are getting ready to book our flights for our cruise next summer and I wanted to make sure that we were allowing enough time for our connections. We will be flying from IAD-LHR-HER all with BA. I know LHR can be busy but do not know how much time we will need or what we will need to do when we connect. This will be our first time flying internationally. The first option gets into LHR at 06:15 and the connection flight leaves at 09:55. There is another option to choose a later connection that departs at 11:25. We will have checked bags. Will 3.5 hours at that time of the morning give us enough time to make our connection provided we arrive on time? Do we need to go through customs or any screenings since we are just passing through LHR on our way to Greece?

There is a later flight from IAD that lands at 07:45 at LHR that would also give us 3.5 hours to make the 11:25 connection to HER. Would LHR be noticeably busier at 07:45 than 06:15? I would prefer a flight from BWI but I do not think the 2 hour connection time with that flight is reasonable.

Thanks for any thoughts or help.
There are so many variables that come into play with international travel that I’d say connection time cushions are a personal preference. I’d be fine with 3 hours, but you always have to be ready to pivot if your incoming flight is delayed. Heathrow will always put you through security again, even for connections. I’ve had a situation where I was through security in less than 1 min (with a VERY tight connection) and more recently, the screening took over a half hour because there was only 1 line for security for connecting passengers and it was S L O W. You never know how long that security screening is going to take at Heathrow (their screening is very thorough too, so you need to have all of your liquids sorted and ready to take out of your bags; if you leave a small tube of hand lotion in your handbag your bag will be taken aside for a painfully slow secondary screening (I’ve had it happen).

We land after 8 pm and I think we’ll be tired so we didn’t want to do public transportation. I know it’s way more expensive but we’re okay paying more. We took a lot of cabs in Japan (not our original plan) and it was so much easier with luggage and ds.

You mean the old green screen from the 90ties I used to work on that you had to use some code? I'm not super techy, I usually just learned enough to survive.

its offical both chase reserve cards are coming out, and all they say on the ad i just read was "rewards will be more rewarding" 😂
found another ad that says stay tuned june 20th, i had a feeling this rumor was true too much data.

I don't know if I should be excited or scared. I'm eligible for another Sapphire and DH will be next month.

DH is having to get a couple of crowns so we need to get a new card pretty quickly (his appointment is July 8th). About a month ago, I worked on cleaning up his Chase account, so he now just has 2 biz cards (CIP and CIU) and 3 personal (CSR, Hyatt and CF) and credit lines are good. No apps since December of 24, so should be good there as well.

I was thinking it would be best for him to go for the CIC since he doesn't have that, but the SUB on the CIU looks to be better now - same bonus for $6,000 spend vs $9,000 spend (if I'm looking at it right).

Is there an issue for him applying for another CIU since he already has one?

Two hours and 15 minutes is my comfort level with connecting in international airports. That's my personal gage.

When I travel internationally by myself I feel the 2 hour mark is comfortable for me provided that I've been to that airport before.
If I am traveling with my family 3 hours is my comfort level. That's because of all of the moving parts - spouse, kiddos, restaurants, bio breaks, souveniers or generally needing to walk around and stretch the legs.

LHR is big. You may or may not have to change terminals. Sometimes you have to go through passport control and security. I would absolutely choose the flight with the 3.5 hour connection since you've never flown internationally before.
Thank you both for confirming that 3+ hours should be sufficient if our arrival is on time. @*WDW*Groupie* thanks also for the warning on LHR's security screening. We will definitely make sure that everything is in order before we go through.

The spend for the CIC is only $6,000 total. The Terms state $350 Cash Back After You Spend $3,000 On Purchases In The First 3 Months From Account Opening and $400 Cash Back After You Spend A Total Of $6,000 On Purchases In The First 6 Months From Account Opening.
