I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Chase will not move CL from a personal cc to a business cc. I moved CL between inks leaving one with a $1,000 CL…No idea if it can go lower than that.
There used to be a CFPB rule that the annual fee for a card cannot exceed 25% of the CL, so for low or zero annual fee cards you could drop the CL pretty much as low as you want. I've had it as low as $500 on cards with a $95 annual fee (since its lower than the $125 calculated amount). With Chase, the CSR is the only card that was problematic to this calculation and since the new political regime has essentially abandoned the CFPB, I don't now what rules are still being enforced or what banks are doing in an abundance of caution.

im hearing from other point threads that I'm on that Alaska from Hawaiian from Amex transfer is getting killed at the end of june, not that I would speculatively transfer. Still, maybe the new Alaska card is finally coming?
Same hearing that also. Cant decide if I want to transfer or not. I adore my MR points. Would be an easy choice if it was UR's

I just did that this week, transferred some MRs to Hawaiian and then to Alaska. There are some flights I'm eyeing on AA that are 4.5K points on Alaska.

Your husband must be a kind soul! Mine would have done the same. I'm glad the FA rewarded y'all!

And agreed on SWA, good to be reminded of the positives that remain 🙂

My husband is the best guy, honestly. We're the kind of people who would voluntarily switch around if a family needed to sit together. But the way the guy demanded it was a hard no for me. I, however, am the spicy one. Luckily I was sleeping with my headphones on, lol.

Another funny anecdote. For 25+ years, I have filled out every single form (6 people!!) for travel. So I asked DH if he would take care of the forms when they came around. Anyway, forms come around, my kids wake me up and I'm swatting them away, like, Dad has this covered. My son insists I wake up and that's when I see DH isn't in our row anymore. FA comes around with the form and says, "oh, your husband is filling out ALL. THE. FORMS. in the back row." So not only was he the (deserving) saint for moving seats, but he looked like this amazing form-filling hero! First forms in 25 years :rotfl2:

Whew! Finally an approval from Chase on the CSP! I downgraded, then re-applied a few days later, but got the dreaded letter about suspected fraud. After uploading the requested documents (twice because apparently it wasn't clear enough the first time) I called to speak with an agent today who verified the documents and approved over the phone with a 12K limit. Glad I can stop stressing over this one!
Glad to hear! My DD applied and got the suspected fraud letter. I have been wondering if it is worth her calling since so many don't seem to get anywhere.

OH! Shoot I totally missed all that too (about a Freedom not transferring).

I do actually still have a CIP (although I was planning to cancel that when my year was up... I guess I'll be hanging onto it a bit longer).

My husband has a CSP that I could transfer my URs to, but I am not sure I could turn around and transfer URs to MY Hyatt (or any other) account.

*sigh* This denial is bigger/worse than I originally thought. Darny darn-darn.
Here's what I do when one of us holds the CSP/CSR and the other doesn't. Keep your CIP, if you can, for partner transfers you'd want to do in your name. You can keep your UR in your account until it's time to use them.
-If you'll use them on the Chase portal, at 1.25, then transfer them to the CSP.
-If you'll use them for your Hyatt, there's no benefit to transferring them to the CSP, because it's a 1:1 transfer ratio for everyone. So just keep them in your account and transfer them to Hyatt, just like you would have done before.

I think you're okay. This is just new.

Last time I wanted to book Hyatt under DH's account because of his status, but he doesn't have a CSP/CIP currently. What I did was transferred the URs from my Chase account to my Hyatt account, and then filled out the Combine Points form and emailed it to Hyatt. Within a day or two, the points were transferred from my Hyatt account to his. So @ten6mom you could always do that... transfer URs to his Chase account where the CSP is held, transfer them to his Hyatt account, and then combine the Hyatt points to your account.

Thank you for this! This board is the best.
Technically I've never used the Chase portal except to purchase my computer and I won't do that again (took FOREVER and of course no customization allowed) so that's good to know and I will likely just keep with the CIP rather than deal with transferring.

I do have a few transfer partners that I had already set up in conjunction wtih the CSP... will I have to set those up again? ( I only log in from home and I'm not there at the moment... sorry for the lazy question)

Huge Hilton devaluation just hit overnight, more info at ThriftyTraveler

WA Los Cabos Pedregal- 190k/nt, up from 150k/nt
Hermitage Bay- 190k/nt
WA Maldives- 200k/nt, up from 150k/nt
Yikes. That is indeed a massive devaluation.

I just checked the amazing Grand Hotel Victoria Lake Como and it’s now 140k / night (up from 120k). Who the heck has the kind of points to go to the WA Maldives for 5 nights? Is it too soon to say “it was good while it lasted”? I have had some truly amazing SLH redemptions and was looking forward to many more. Guess I’ll have to rely on NLL biz and personal cards (I have never had the Surpass, so when a good bonus with FNC rolls around I’ll probably jump on it).

I'm having a similar experience with Chase Disney. I don't actually need more credit. I was just trying to get the bonus for a DVC purchase. The letter to me in my Chase account is dated April 28th. It says I need to call. I call every few days and the message is always the same. Something to the effect of, "We're still evaluating your application. You'll receive a letter in the mail in the next 7-10 days." Well, it's beyond 10 days at this point. I am not sure if I will continue to pursue it or not.
Update to my previous post. It's been well over the 7-10 days that I was supposed to get a letter. The phone system never updated so today I called and clicked 0 for representative. After being transferred around a few times, my card was approved. I have a fraud alert on my credit file and I assume that was the hold up. Somehow, there was lack of communication or updating, but it's all set now. They gave me way more credit than I wanted. So, now I have to fight the urge to buy extra DVC points.

Glad they got it squared away for you.

Has anyone used UR for universal hotels recently? Does it come with their version of fast pass even if you book with Chase? My parents want us to go to Universal with them next year for their milestone bdays and we have never done those parks!

Yes you should still get the express pass if you book through Chase as long as you’re at one of the hotels that includes it. We stayed at Royal Pacific in February and had a blast! Ds talks about universal almost daily.

I've noticed that when I see a flight on Alaska,it could be 4.5k,same flight on AA is 5.5k or more..... then I start debating which is a better purchase....

Can someone tell me if I'm imagining things? I am looking at AA fares (using miles).

The first "month" calendar seems to indicate there should be flights available for about 7K miles, but on the individual days, it is showing the lowest is 14K miles.

Am I doing something wrong?IMG_4166.JPGIMG_4165.JPG
