I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Are there any deals to upgrade your Disney visa card to a premier card?
Does an upgrade count as a credit check?
Do you keep the same card or do they have to change it to a different photo?
Was interested in boosting my disney points for a trip about a year out.
An upgrade would not count as a new card and they shouldn’t do a credit check.

But I am pretty sure you can hold both Disney cards so to get the bonus I’d apply for the annual fee card.

I'm Assuming these are targeted.

My offer was $75 credit for the upgrade after you make a purchase.
Since the card has a $50 AF you effectively make $25.

Since it doesn't hurt my Chase 5/24 I went ahead and upgraded and will downgrade next year since I never use the card unless there are chase offers or www.chase.com/mybonus has 5% categories for me.

Hi, I’m new to this thread and trying to digest everything and come up with my best strategy. Here is my form overview:

1) First off, we are going to want you to list ALL credit cards you were approved for in the last 24 months.

I have very good / borderline excellent credit and currently have open a handful of national and store credit cards, but only one opened in last 24 months - Chase Ink Unlimited last month before I found this thread 🫠 Let me know if I’m supposed to list all current cards or not.

Player 2 (spouse) also has very good credit and currently zero opened in last 24 months. The plan was for me to refer them on Chase Ink Unlimited soon for the $200 bonus for me on top of the $750 bonus for them, if that’s the best strategy.

2) Secondly we'll want to know a little bit about you. Specifically - what you spend, and what you want to earn!
  • What amount of spend would you put on a card monthly (i.e. groceries, gas, insurance, cable, cell phone, other expenses)?
I make a lot of purchases for work that are reimbursed, so it depends on the month and what’s going on, but at least $2K or more as needed for bonuses. I also recently purchased DVC direct and am making payments on this over time so can charge a few large amounts ($5K+) as needed.
  • Do you currently payoff your CCs in full every month or do you carry any balances/pay any interest?
Pay in full like my daddy taught me.
  • What airport(s) do you typically fly out of?
Currently Raleigh, NC
  • Do you have a preference of Frequent Flyer program?
I do not currently fly very frequently, though that could change in the future depending on work assignment and responsibilities.
  • Does SOUTHWEST Airline service your airport?
Yes
  • Do you have a Hotel Rewards program preference?
Probably Hilton Honors.
  • Do you currently have travel points or miles in any program? (if so, which programs and how much)
No, only currently utilize cards for cashback. Haven’t played the miles game yet or tried booking through Chase travel portal.
  • What at your specific goals for churning credit cards? (i.e. Disney World Trip, Cruise, European Trip, Cash Back to pay-off a mortgage or student loans, etc. - you can have multiple goals too!)
Maximize cash back bonuses to pay for vacations and DVC (including Disney gift cards for dues and other).
  • When do you plan to take these trips? (Keep in mind that it can be difficult to earn points/miles to cover imminent travel...it's best to plan far in advance, especially with regards to international travel)
Currently have Aulani, Vegas, Disneyland, and multiple National Parks on the vacation list but no dates. We travel to WDW at least 2x/year. We’re fairly flexible.
  • Who does your travel party consist of? (Spouse, Kids (& ages), other relatives/friends)
Primarily spouse + myself (party of 2) though we bought extra DVC to be able to take broader family in the future to WDW.

Just got my Hawaiian accounts merged using the chat option on HA's website. Took maybe 30 min with the back and forth, but glad to not have to call. I got it merged to the new number since that's what's on the cc. Plus I saw some DPs where merging to the old account created issues.

I got both the HA personal and biz cards since it's only 1 pull on the same day. They both came with the new number. Glad they were the same new number!

Did you get the 70K SUB for both cards? If so, I'm kicking myself for not also getting the biz card!

Welcome! There are a couple of cards that might be right for you at this time. The Delta and Hilton cards both have an elevated offer right now. If you are willing to pay a higher annual fee, check out the the Hilton Aspire card. I love it because it includes Diamond status, a free night certificate (FNC) each year, 14 pts on money spent at Hiltons, and 3 pts on all other purchases. The current SUB is 175K pts. A lower fee option is the Hilton Surpass which has a current SUB of 130K + 1 FNC. I don't have that card so don't know all the perks it offers, but that SUB alone is a good deal.

Based on your non-Disney travel, I think you would get good value out of Hilton cards. I have used Hilton almost exclusively for the past couple of years. There has been good availability here in the U.S (even in the smaller towns)., Europe, and Japan.

A couple of important rules to keep in mind as you start this hobby. The first is never close a card before the first anniversary. If you don't plan to keep it after the SUB year, cancel it after the first anniversary. The next annual fee (AF) might post, but they will refund it as long as you close the card within 30 days. Chase has the 5/24 rule on personal cards. It is a limit of 5 personal cards (of any brand) within a 24 month period. However, there are very recent reports of Chase reporting biz cards to credit reports and maybe including those in the count. Someone reported here yesterday that Chase has acknowledged this as an error and they working to fix it. So stay tuned for updates on the 5/24 rule.

Having a P2 will help you amass pts a lot faster. You should support each other's applications as much as possible. I encourage you to join the Reddit group where you will find support links from members here. We try to help each other out when we don't have a P2 support for a card.

Feel free to ask any questions, everyone here is very helpful.

You probably know this already but adding that you shouldn't add authorized users to any approved cards, jic. Don't want the credit bureaus to accidentally count them for the AU.

Well, I just got a medical bill for over 4K. I just got the HA card, but will need another one for this payment. Preferably something with 12 months of no interest. I'm under 4/24 and was recently denied an Ink card. Any hot new deals?

Hi all! I’m about to purchase a vehicle and want to put about $2500-$4k on a new credit card. I’m looking for a card that has a great SUB to use for travel. Preferably one where I can purchase experiences (theme park tickets, etc) with points. I have plenty of airline miles, and a gazillion Marriott points currently. I also toyed with dipping my toes into Hyatt hotel cards, and could prob do so if there was an amazing SUB with a card.

Do you have any suggestions? I am well below the 4/24 rule with Chase.

Between P2 and I, we have:
Chase freedom, Southwest, Disney, Bonvoy, Ink
Citi AA card
Bonvoy Amex

Any advice or input is welcome!

Just applied for the Amex Biz Gold using a Danny the Deal Guru link for 200k MRs after $10K spend. I got a "thank you, we have received your application." I had received a pre-approved offer in the mail for this card, but ony for 125k MRs so I was expecting instant approval.

Did Chase give a reason for denial? Did you have an Ink before?

Another Ink is good if you have 2 or less Chase biz cards open. You can book experiences through the Chase portal, but no Disney tickets. You can upgrade your Freedom to a CSR for the 1.5 cent per point redemption rate. Or the Capital One Venture SUB is elevated. Link You can use the travel eraser. Check the preapproval tool though since their approval is unpredictable.

The Hyatt SUB isn't great and pretty much never is compared to an Ink. It usually only makes sense to get the card if you're chasing elite nights for milestone awards or status. Or you want the personal long term for the annual FNC.

Phew, just got the email I was approved! I’ve had a biz gold in the past (2 years ago) so pretty happy I was able to get it again for 200k MRs!
