I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

I don’t do groceries only convenience stores as pickup so that I can avoid the fees but it’s still working for me.

I turned off the DoorDash credits so I could use that for restaurants.
Thank you. I don't know why I can never figure this out but I turned off the credit then clicked on deals to apply the $10 off. They make this so hard to use!

sooo anyone else stalk SWA for fares to various places? I've been watching the site for a couple of months now,and aside from one short sale that I missed,I'm seeing high prices between my chosen airports..... I've been concerned that all the changes there for '25 would result in much higher prices..... am I wrong? or it could possibly be my routes are just high? I don't recall seeing prices like this to a 'non interesting' destination!

Anyone have suggestions for Quebec City? We’re planning on driving up during the kid’s April break. Have never taken the kids to Canada & it’s only a few hours away. Not sure if we’ll take the direct route or the route through NY which brings us right by Montreal so maybe stop at both Quebec City & Montreal.

I only look at prices ISP-MCO, have flights booked with points various dates February through August for a few trips…they seem to start out high when the window opens and take a while for them to go down. For our February trip they started out around 15k per flight about 6 weeks ago the slowly went down to 7,500 points. June and August flights have gone down about 50 points.

yikes I'd love see those to STL at some point! I was used to around 6k each way now I'm seeing 12-25k each way!

What do you guys think about the rumor of March insurance category for Freedom Flex? I have seen in posted on reddit. I checked my email and though it says March birthday surprise there was no mention
of insurance like some have seen on their accounts.

I
I have an offer on my SW RR account to earn 2x points putting insurance payments on my SW CC. But since I have a CSR and insurance is a PYB category until 3/31/25 my insurance is going on the CSR

So true I wish they would have kept it as statement credits like they did with IC and when we got the $60 DoorDash all in one swoop for meals.

I think it was mentioned in March that Freedom/Freedom Flex would be 5% if you have not already maxed it out on Groceries/Hair/Nails.

Haven't been to Quebec City. But did visit Montreal several years ago for a work conference. Highlights for my short trip - https://www.basiliquenotredame.ca/ Mini Notre Dame (if you haven't seen the real one). Mount Royal Park - highest point in Montreal. I started typing before I reviewed. Two other things we did that were nice were Montreal Tower; part of Olympic area and Montreal Biodome. But Montreal Tower is closed for renovations and Biodome greenhouses are currently closed. Not sure what is fully open at the Biodome right now.

High prices for my spring break flights. Booked SW when they opened and they never came down. I think travel demand is up across the board and prices reflect that.

Same for us. We've spent down all our points for just 2 trips (and that's with a CP), and I'm not hopeful it will change between now and March. We also lost our ATL connection to MCO (we're in SC) and now all the flights have us flying to BNA or BWI, in the opposite direction of Florida 🙄. Between the higher point values and fewer options, I'm starting to think we need a new flight point strategy.

We fly out of STL too - I sure hope Southwest gets back to lower pricing. It's just so easy, we rarely fly anything else out of Terminal 1 unless DH earns his work trip. It's always on United or AA to somewhere with an all inclusive, but with those, I don't have to do any planning or pricing. Just show up and go!

Silly question. For my flight to Rome, I'll be flying on Air France from DTW. I get access to Delta Sky Club lounge. I see there are 4 at DTW. Do you just pick the one closest to your gate? Are they all about the same or how do I tell if one would be preferred?

It isn't just them. With Alaska's new merger Im finding them extremely high. I have to get rid of some travel credit with them and one flight practically wipes that out!

We are going to Europe again this Summer and frankly finding the points needed around the same
amount as Domestic flights.

Happy new year! Big thanks to @miztressuz for starting the new thread!

I am not planning any big trips this year. I will be spending the spring traveling to watch my nephew play in his last college baseball season. We are going to try to make every game. Due to a medical redshirt year, he could play during his grad year. However, he says he is ready to move on. He's been playing since he was 2.5, so we are all pretty emotional about it.

My main travel goal this year is earning as many pts as possible because I have my last 2 nephew high school grad trips coming up in 2026. Although, one of them may get postponed to 2027 if I can't get enough time off next year. My nephews really want to visit Epic Universe when it opens, so we may do that in the fall.

If you are like me and in the path of the Snowpocalypse, stay safe! It's been snowing since early this morning and no signs of letting up. I'm just hoping we do not get as much ice as predicted because they are saying that will cause widespread power outages.

If those are your only choices I would pick Nashville over Baltimore. When flying to BDL I always go through BWI as it is generally the best schedule wise but the people are employees there are rude. If it was just once I would shrug it off but it happens everytime I travel through there. When my direct flight was cancelled I rebooked through BNA and had a much more pleasant experience.

I check SWA prices every morning for all the flights I have booked. I agree prices are high right now but have hope there will be window in which they will drop. Never know when it will be or for how long, but there is usually a drop. Good luck.

Did a day before a cruise last year. Pretty city, wish I’d had more time! Try to check the cruise ship schedule if you want to do the hop on, hop off bus. If a ship is in that’s nuts as the first stop is right by the terminal. You can get on at the first stop but forget getting off, lines were not pretty for those who tried that and needed back on. We planned to hop on and off but didn’t want to get stranded so we just stayed on for the whole route.

Fwiw we had a great FHR stay at Auberge Saint Antoine if you’re looking for a recommendation. Breakfast was great and the staff went above and beyond when a member of our party ate it on the city cobblestone the first morning and got injured. (Bonus for anyone catching a ship- if your ship docks at the terminal across the road bell services took us and our luggage right to bag check!).
