I decided I wanted to upgrade our room at Los Altos in Costa Rica from a garden view to a treetop suite (for an April 2025 trip). I booked through the Chase portal and it says you have to cancel and rebook if you want to modify. I don't know if anyone remembers but I had trouble originally booking since it showed as Sold Out in the portal under my CSR (it's part of The Edit program), but I could book it in the portal using my CIP. At 1.25 as opposed to 1.5 it cost me more points, but I still did it. So today I cancelled the room under my CIP and happened to check using my CSR and lo and behold it looked bookable. I put in 5 guests (me, DH and three teens) and it showed the available rooms. One of which was Treetop suite, BUT it says 1 king bed, as though that's the only bed. It didn't list all the beds like it did when I booked with the CIP. I booked it anyway (it's refundable). But what does everyone think about this? Especially those who have been before? The reservation clearly says 5 guests. Will they open the other bedrooms for us? Will there be an additional cash charge? I was so excited to book a better room and use less points, but not if 5 of us are sharing one king bed! Thanks so much for any insights! I'm assuming it has something to do with the fact it's part of the Edit thing that gives free breakfast for 2 and $100 hotel credit per day. I'm thinking I'll call the hotel to confirm we'll have access to the other rooms, but wanted to see what people here thought.
