Personally I like the Instacart credits but not the Door dash credits. Just today, tried ordering Door Dash delivery, extra $30 in fees & tip. Better to order directly from the restaurant. For a while they had GoPuff credits, it's not even in our area.
I feel like most of the credits are a pain to use and one of the reasons I have no Amex MR cards because I can't use most of the credits.
Wow, did I understand correctly, your Doordash order was $30 more than if you would order directly from the restaurant?! That's insane.

I do order from Doordash at least once every 3 months, which is as long as the CSR credits roll over. Usually it's a day I'm working from home and don't have something for lunch. If I get lunch delivered, I can keep working instead of going out to get something. There's a markup, but not so outrageous. Maybe you had a very big order?

P2 was instant approved for the CIP LATE Thursday night, more like early Friday morning.

He (I) sent a SM asking for the card to be expedited and got the auto response that Chase got the message and would reply within 1-2 business days. Unfortunately, it has been crickets and Chase has not replied back yet.

I am waiting until he gets the card before sending another SM asking them to match the new SUB of 120k.

Should I make P2 call Chase today or tomorrow to ask for the card to be expedited so that he can at least get it by Tuesday? I assume regular customer service is open on the weekends although, I don't know their hours, 9pm?

Or should we wait to see if they reply on Monday and call if they don't so that he gets the card by Wednesday? This is what P2 (DH) wants to do but I am so impatient!! :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

The particular restaurant we ordered from tonight was about $2 per dish higher on Door Dash. Delivery was $94, pickup through Door Dash was $63 (and that was after a $4 coupon and $5 CSR credit) We order out on weekends usually for dinner as a family, so a larger order for sure. I actually use DD more for my mom, who is mostly home bound, to order her a dinner out or something every few weeks.

I would wait until Monday, Chase ships the expedited cards UPS so they wouldn’t be delivered over the weekend
I was approved Monday morning for a CIP, sent a SM then asking it to be expedited, received a reply Wednesday morning and the card Thursday

I was approved Monday, immediately SMed for expedited. I did not bother to read their response, but I received my card by UPS on Thursday. Then today I received another one by regular mail!

That's definitely a very hefty delivery fee. I get discounted Doordash gift cards to offset the higher prices, but I've never had a big delivery fee like that. DH would have a cow, lol, he'd just go pick it up himself

Renewed my WDW AP's this weekend (Florida residents 0% monthly payments) and specifically put them on my CFF due to this quarter's 5% back on live entertainment. Today it posted and the category is "continuity/subscription". Is it everyone's experience that AP's don't show up as entertainment? I already knew that WDW tickets code as travel but I wrongly assumed that APs would be entertainment.

What card should I be using to get the most points or cash back specifically on AP's? A flat 2% card like Wells Fargo? I have CFU at 1.5%, so maybe that's the best without adding another card right now

Sat down on the couch today and the backrest support snapped  I swear I am a normal fit size human lol It was a $400 floor model we got 4 years ago with the intent to replace it "in a year" so I guess it served its purpose.

We have a new min spend starting so great timing I guess?

Anyone have opinions on quality furniture stores? I hate sofa shopping. (Hence keeping the $400 well past its life haha)

To be honest, I can't tell if the quality at the expensive furniture showrooms is any better.

We bought our sofas for my daughter's place and our condo in FL from Costco and are very happy with the price and quality. We paid under $2k and my daughter paid just over $1K. I am not sure how much more life I will get out of it if I had to pay over 3-5 times the Costco price.

Good luck!

So I saw that my Amex Hilton Biz AF posted on 6/14. But it's the grandfathered $95. I was going to cancel it, but I guess considering I can get $60/qtr back, it makes sense (for now) to keep it one more year. I don't really use the other "perks" since I have the Surpass. But I'm still getting $240 in credit for $95. So I guess it gets one more year in my wallet, LOL.

This lead me to remember that I have $150 hotel credit on my Delta Biz Amex Gold. I have way too many hotel credits/stays to use before the end of the year. YIKES!
I also just had the $95 AF post and was still thinking of cancelling. How do you get $240 in credit?

We’re an Ashley Furniture family. All of my furniture, and my son and his in-laws all shop there. Like your couch, 7 years ago I decided to host Thanksgiving at my new house even though I didn’t have. Dining room set yet. Bought a cheap set from them and it’s seen many big family meals (up to 20 people at times) and it’s still in great shape.

I have Los Altos in Costa Rica booked for April ‘25. DH was doing a street view of surrounding area outside the hotel and thought it looked sketchy. For those who have first-hand experience, what’s the area around the hotel like? Did you go to restaurants in the neighborhood?

We walked to restaurants every night for dinner. It was not sketchy. Hilly, yes. Sketchy, no. There were tons of tourists walking around at night in either direction. We felt very safe.

I try to buy from places that use cotton and other natural materials. Polyester is plastic and there's been so much research lately about all the plastic fibers we breathe in through our polyester clothes and furniture, not to mention all the other ways we're exposed to microplastics, that now I avoid polyester and derivatives altogether. It at least really narrows down the choices!
