I also just had the $95 AF post and was still thinking of cancelling. How do you get $240 in credit?

Nice that it renewed at $95. It was supposed to go up July 1. You should be able to get 5 quarters worth of the $60/quarter credit on any Hilton for 1 AF. GC works too.

I kept both mine and DH's because they renewed at $95. Most quarters, I'll be buying a $50 GC and the rest of the credit will cover the $1.95 shipping fee.

I can't believe I did this, but somehow I booked a non-refundable Hilton Hotel Night. I could have sworn it said cancel within 3 days of arrival. Has anyone had any luck getting their Hilton points back on a non-refundable reservation?

Don't think I've seen a non-refundable Hilton points reservation before. Is this an SLH?

I have Los Altos in Costa Rica booked for April ‘25. DH was doing a street view of surrounding area outside the hotel and thought it looked sketchy. For those who have first-hand experience, what’s the area around the hotel like? Did you go to restaurants in the neighborhood?
It’s a small town in Costa Rica. Lots of tourists and resorts, hotels and Air B&B. Lots of places to eat at. No issues. There’s a small grocery around the corner we picked up food at for lunches and snacks.

Instant approval for P2 for the new CIP offer! Here we come new couch! Any maybe MVMCP? Still havent figured out if its worth it to go!

I'm going to mvmcp and jollywood but it's a lot easier to "justify" when I'm solo but omg the price of mvmcp. I do a combo of holiday stuff and short ride lines. This will be my first Jollywood.

IKR?! We Went 2 years ago and are going again this year and the price is so much higher now. I think there's a lot of demand for that particular event. Also going to Jollywood, was not as bad but still high imo. But it's my mom's 60th birthday so...

Sighhh- has anyone ever been successful getting a points refund after the 'cancel by' date has passed on a hotel? Or is it up to each property? I tried, but rep said property would only do it at 50% of points....:scared:

The strategy I've read is to ask them to change the reservation to a date outside the cancellation window, and then cancel that later. Never tried it myself.

Ohhh wow good idea- call in to try?

Applied for a CIP for P2 through my own support link. Got a "more info needed" about the legal name of the business--guessing I didn't put his full name? Do I just apply for EIN? Any way to fix whatever I messed up about the name. He's willing to put a minimal amount of effort into it but mostly on me. Thanks for any advice. I have several large purchases to make and would really like a new SUB.

Need to buy my travel insurance for my international trip next year. I know I want medical but not sure how to factor in points bookings. My flights were made on points + taxes/fees. Do I put the “cost” as any cancellation fee/points restatement and the taxes/fees? I haven’t booked any tours yet. I assume I can put down a cost now and adjust once I have final costs. I used to have an annual travel insurance plan through work but since I’ll be retired, I’m on my own next year. Thanks for any help.

I guess I’m using “just posted” loosely - it posted in June, but was due to be paid this week. Since Los Altos is becoming or is now a Hilton property and we’re going in April, might find some use for the gift cards there?
Do you just buy gift cards online and then automatically get a credit on your statement?
