yeah we havent decided what week yet but we were thinking 4 days in both when we went to ashenville for 3 days i wanted to stay longer :) Was thinking bitmore and dollywood.
Personally I would spend more time in Asheville... There is SO much hiking around the area, tons of nice waterfalls. Lots of good breweries too... Sierra Nevada and Bold Rock both have nice locations.
I know we have a lot of pet parents on here. Has anyone tried the Farmers Dog out and what are/were your thoughts? They always seem to have promo codes and I have a lot of Chase offers for the Farmers Dog, just wondering if it was worth it since it's kinda pricey. Not that pet food in general isn't pricey, I just wouldn't want my dogs to love it so much that if we had to go back to kibble that they would turn up their noses.
We tried Farmers Dog once with a Chase offer. I think we wound up paying $15 for 2 weeks worth of food, which is cheaper than the kibble I buy so that right there was a win to me. To be honest, my picky eater didn't even want it. He would eat it at first, then after a few days he was over it, and would only eat when he got really hungry or with a lot of coaxing. My other dog of course will eat anything (probably even dirt) so we had no problem feeding it to him. I was able to switch back to our normal feeding with no issues. I used the farmers dog as simply a mix in with the kibble, and it worked well for us.

We tried the farmers dog with a Chase offer also. We received the beef, turkey, and pork mix. Our dog doesn't like the pork but likes the other two. We normally give a small packaged wet dog food at dinner time anyway, in addition to the dry she eats the rest of the day. We split the Farmers Dog packages and make it last for 2-3 days. Doing it this way we probably saved money over the $1.50 packaged wet food from the store. I think it's good quality and definitely worth a try, although there's no way I would/could pay regular price for it.

Tip- I first checked their website to see prices, etc but didn't sign up for shipments right away. I got an email a day or two later with a promo for an additional percent off (adt'l 10% off for 60% total I think). Their prices were already reduced according to their website also. I think we ended up paying about $25 for our 38 pound dog's food.

Food for thought:

DH got an Amex offer for 35x MRs on $1000 with Celebrity on one card and 17.5k MRs for $500 spend with Celebrity on another card. While we know we plan to sail Celebrity again after our wonderful experience in the Galapagos, it won't be anytime soon. But it's too good of an offer to pass up. 52,500 MRs for $1500 we will be spending with Celebrity at some point anyhow. Even if one only values MRs for cash out with a Schwab it's $577 earned on $1500.

We booked a refundable cruise for April of 2025. I am very unlikely to go on this cruise. However, this should give me plenty of time to make a change to an actual cruise itinerary and date that I will take without any penalties down the line.
DH and I have the same offers. Do you know if you can do split payments?

Interesting. We have two dogs and they sound similar to yours. One would eat anything you put in front of him, the other one has allergies so I'd have to look closer to see if I can even get a combo that she's eat and tolerate.

I was thinking of possibly doing something similar, adding it to their kibble as a supplement and stretching it further. If it wasn't for the Chase offers, I probably wouldn't even consider it. Good tip about seeing if an email discount can be generated, I love stacking deals.

We've wrapped up most recent MSR for a Chase Biz. I had said after this I was going to pause on new cards, but we have a large spend in the near future so am reconsidering (this happens every time).

I have Amex Plat and would like to refer DH for an Amex Gold but last time I tried for an Amex Co-branded card we both got the pop-up. Will the pop-up work the same way via referral link? He'll know before the app is complete that he'd not get the MRs?

I presume it's the velocity that's getting us as we've had a pretty busy year for SUBs. The only AMEX card DH has is a very old Delta Blue Skymiles that we never use.

I've been feeding the Farmer's Dog for over a year. I switched to it because I wanted high quality, human grade (probably a marketing gimmick) food that both my dogs would eat. My dogs were very happy with it. The older one (16) now has to be on a low fat diet (even though she's rail thin) but I still get the Farmer's Dog for the younger dog. It's not cheap, but I believe the quality is very high and my picky dogs had no issues eating it.

ETA: I do supplement. I do half the serving recommendation. I mainly give The Honest Kitchen small breed kibble with TFD. And then I manage the order to slow down the next delivery.

Some people were posting a bit ago about anticipating missing Hyatt Globalist status, and I'll add that I might have to rethink letting go of Hilton Diamond status. Made a reservation for one of my kids who's traveling to take a bar exam (good vibes appreciated!) and he got upgraded to an executive room with access to a nice lounge (he reports good eggs, bacon, and fresh fruit at breakfast) plus a late check-out so he can leave all of his stuff in the room until the exam is over (most people check out on the last morning and have the hotel hold their stuff). In the grand scheme of hotel perks these probably aren't a big deal but in a stressful situation, they are especially welcome.

For those that have been to Costa Rica... I'm thinking of reworking our plans and JUST visit Manuel Antonio this time. Originally we would split, 3 days Arenal area and 3 days in Manuel Antonio. But the more I think about it and read on it, I'm leaning more towards just doing MA for 5 days, and an overnight in San Jose on arrival/departure.
Was there enough to do in MA? Anything spectacular we'd be missing in Arenal? I've seen volcanoes/cloud forests in other countries, so I don't consider that a must see. We could do zip lining/hanging bridges in MA (2 things I had on an Arenal itinerary). From what I can tell, the only thing we would miss is hot springs, which I have also visited in other countries with volcanoes, so I don't feel like I'd be missing out a ton. I just have a feeling we're doing a lot of driving in 7 days splitting our time between both places, and it would be more relaxing just focusing on one area, and do lots on activities there, plus time to just relax and enjoy the hotel pool, etc. Thoughts? Did you like MA enough to be there 5 days? Planning to stay at Hyatt Los Altos of course.

I booked the lowest price Hilton I could find around our house for a night just to retain diamond status through March, 2024 (my stay at the WA Cabo counts as the first stay and the Conrad St James next week will be third). I wouldn't have paid for 3 separate nights to retain status, but it is worth the 1 night OOP to me.

I think it's the little touches that can cement (or lose) loyalty one way or another. Last week we stayed at the Hyatt Centric Key West for the 3rd year in a row and we were put in the smallest room in the building-clearly obvious both visually and on the fire escape map on the back of the door. I gave feedback afterwards when they sent an email and 🦗🦗🦗. So not only are we not returning (kind of sad but...) and it definitely makes me question my Globalist quest for this year. We'll see! I've never been upgraded in the 4 years of Hilton Diamond which is fine but again...it's the little things. Oh, and good luck to your DS:tink:!

Typically each year when tax and insurance payment times come around I open a new card to easily hit the signup bonus with organic spending. Any recommendations for a good one to open? I currently have:

CSP
Chase Freedom
Chase Freedom Unlimited
United Explorer
United Quest
World of Hyatt
Disney Visa
Discover It
Citi DoubleCash
Amex Blue Business Plus

I usually fly United and stay in Hyatts (when not in Disney) so I would typically put travel spend on those branded cards. Gas purchases I usually put on whatever card is offering a quarterly bonus.

I've been toying with going for the Amex Platinum but don't know if it's worth the $695 AF. Just wondering if anyone had any other cards they're fans of or think is a better choice in my shoes.

I see you have an Amex Business Class, why not the Chase Ink Cash or Unlimited?

Those familiar with Lufthansa: When booking an "Economy Flex" ticket it says "refundable without fee." Does this mean if I book and then need to cancel I will be refunded regardless of the reason for cancellation? I did look at the terms but don't see specifics.

The pop-up is a mystery. Best guess is that Amex likes to see spend on their cards. Co-brands seem to be more pop-up prone. You may get the pop-up with a support link but not without. There is a theory that there's a calculation for how much the SUB will cost them vs how profitable you are as a customer.

If you get the pop-up, it'll ask if you want to proceed without the SUB or cancel the app.

Appreciate the suggestion and forgot to mention I already have the Ink Cash.

You know you have too many cards when you can't name all the ones you have off the top of your head. I didn't add in my Amtrak, JetBlue Plus, and Citi ShopYourWay cards either :P

You can have multiple Ink cards, btw

DH just got approved for his second yesterday. That's now a total of 4 in our household lol

I have 4 ink business cards and 1 Southwest business card.
DH has 3 ink business cards.
The SUB is currently elevated, 90k URs/$6,000 MSR

I think you'll find enough to do and leave some time to chill.
We're doing 3 nights/4 nights at Andaz Papagayo and Los Altos which is not much to me and we've been to CR twice before. If you want to hit 'everything' take a planned and guided group tour (ie Caravan. Com) and they'll drive you everywhere in 10 days. Otherwise I think your plan sounds good. We are doing 1 day adventure tour while at Andaz (ziplining, tubing, hot springs, hike to waterfalls) and at Los Altos I've booked a private guide for Manuel Antonio park and a sunset cruise (https://www.aquaquepos.com/). We leave in 30 days, I'll let you know how they are afterwards. Both MA excursions were booked through the Chase portal. Check out activities on the portal. There's also things like horseback riding, kayaking and hikes to waterfalls.

As @Duckbug.Ducktales mentioned, you can have multiples. DH and I both have 2 CIC and 2 CIU. The bonus is at an all time high for low MSR for both. Just be sure you're under 5/24 and total credit limits aren't too high.

I did resubmit again. Also trying to TWEET with them... still waiting for someone to answer. Fingers Crossed.
Anyone have luck with this? I still haven't gotten my status matched. I have the Wyndham Biz Earners card that gives me Diamond status. I've re-submitted 3 times since Feb 1. 😞
