yes, I always buy my award tickets with CSR but have used my Amex Plat for seat selection.I have to travel for work again in May and I am probably going to book on AA (with my work card). My work will not pay to pick seats or anything like that.
Does anyone know, if I book a flight on AA with one card, can I go back and add seat selection afterwards (which I would use a personal card for)?
*Edit* I see Southwest also flies that route, so same question... if a book a basic fare initially can I add Early Bird later with my own card?
Good CC for DS's Girlfriend. She is 22 - in college. Last year her credit score was in the 500's due to an outstanding medical bill that she thought her work place had taken care of. She got that straightened out and DS added her as an AU on 2 of his cards. Her credit score is now about 780.
She wants to start building her own credit. I know about the Discover IT card but is there any Chase Cards that she might be able to get? Maybe a Freedom Card?
Is Freedom an easier one to get for college students. She does work also. What about a good everyday spend card like either the Chase Freedom Unlimited or the Citi Doublecash?
Unfortunately $600 is the magic number. Learned that the hard way when a few referral bonuses and a CSR retention bonus put me over the limit (so the CSR retention bonus actually cost me money).Does Chase normally send a 1099 for credit card bonuses? I received one today and it has $400 for a CIC and $200 for a CIU. I'm used to getting them for bank bonuses but not for credit card bonuses.
Do you mind sharing when you received a CSR retention bonus and what it was? I tried for one last year and didn't get anything; the AF will post on my CSR with the next statement and I'd love a retention bonus.Unfortunately $600 is the magic number. Thanks I assume the $600 is 60k in referral bonuses.Unfortunately $600 is the magic number. Learned that the hard way when a few referral bonuses and a CSR retention bonus put me over the limit (so the CSR retention bonus actually cost me money).
Yes it is all chase CC apps. Recommended to wait 3 months between apps.Does Chase velocity include both personal and biz cards? If someone got a Hyatt card in January when could they (or should they) feel like it's ok to apply for an Ink?
As StephPlum said, 3 months is recommended. Personally, in 2022 I got a SW personal on 5/28, a CIU on 7/27, and IHG on 10/10, so 2-2.5 months worked for me, no other apps in between.Does Chase velocity include both personal and biz cards? You can apply for an Ink 30 days after your Hyatt application date (and you can even MDD Inks to get around 1/30). Whether you want to push that limit is a personal call. The "2-3 months between applications" recommendation applies to all Chase cards.Does Chase velocity include both personal and biz cards? I think it was $150 and it was probably at the height of the pandemic in 2020.Do you mind sharing when you received a CSR retention bonus and what it was? I tried for one last year and didn't get anything; the AF will post on my CSR with the next statement and I'd love a retention bonus.
I'm so sorry. This stinks. Have you tried finding a JAL flight through a different US city on the day you want to leave?JAL dropped the LAX-KIX flight for the day we are flying, now my flight isn't showing on our AA account. I want to cry, the wait time is currently 3-4 hours.
ETA: Was able to find our booking on JAL, they moved us from Friday to Saturday but that means we now have one day less and that means moving all our bookings which have now doubled in price. I also have to get AA to move our TUL-LAX flights to the next day, wish me luck.
Chase has typically liked to see about a year of credit history with their own card, not just AU history. I take it she doesn't have any cards of her own? They are probably more lenient with the student Freedom. It's not a great bonus ($50 credit for 1 purchase) or earner (1%) but gets the foot in the door to UR points and gives 2,000 points Good Standing Reward each anniversary for the first 5 years. And it's designed to build credit with a automatic limit increase review built-in.Good CC for DS's Girlfriend. She is 22 - in college. I can't find anything for 60K miles (not even one ticket, we need 4), but if anyone is looking to fly LAX-KIX this summer plenty of non-weekend days available.I'm so sorry. This stinks. Have you tried finding a JAL flight through a different US city on the day you want to leave?
It’s my understanding that the airline should reaccomodate the flight of your choice: you shouldn’t be restricted by the 60k miles price. I know typically they’d want you to keep the same airports, but I’d jot a few choices down and give them a call. I think they may have some wiggle room given they are reaccommodating you due to their flight cancellation. This sometimes works in people’s favor and they’re able to book a more direct flight. AA moved our TUL-LAX flights to Saturday, I still can't see the reservation on my account. I think I'm going to have to leave everything as is, just cut a day from the front of the trip, which sucks because I would have preferred to cut a day from Tokyo instead of Kyoto. But everything has doubled in price, I have Hilton Tokyo Bay booked for 3 nights for 91,000 points total, rooms are now 75,000/night.
