hearing this makes me question the one aa flight i booked this year (only because delta was too long with layovers)
I will still fly with AA because dh has so many miles with them (he usually travels with them a few times a week). I'd rather continue to use our miles with them and AC then transfer MR or URs to another airline. However if my situation from 2 wks ago were to repeat itself then I'd be very hesitant. My next flight with AA has a connection (fly into LGA, taxi to JFK), so if my departing flight were to be cancelled or delayed I'd be in another terrible situation. However 1 of the CSRs that I spoke to told me that since dh is an EP that I can go to the AA lounge and the desk agent there can re-book me.

We fly AA 3-4 times a year, and have not had any issues like this. I'm sure it happens with every airline, but we haven't experienced anything like this with AA, and they are our preferred airline basically because we also have so many points with them, so we never fly any other airline. I wouldn't unneccessarily worry... the whole Southwest saga from December was much worse in my opinion, and many are still faithful to them!

For SWA cp.... I'm thinking of possibly adding my current companion onto my next trip, as a placeholder, but just not sure if they're coming... could I do that, but if things go as I think they might, call in closer to my trip, and change out my designated person, and add another person on my CP, and book them for that trip....is this too convoluted? I watch the flights (not til april) and they seem to have plenty of seats left (picked oddball days to fly on purpose)- has anyone ever done this?

Yes you could do that no problem. Steps would be - add current companion, then if plans change - cancel current companion’s flight (might be able to do online, might have to call or chat. I have varying degrees of luck). Call to change companion. Add new companion to flight. Just keep in mind that if current companion is on any other future flights, they’ll need to be cancelled from those too before you can change your companion.

So for Hilton points stays (Dis Springs) I don't have to pay resort fee- what about the Holiday Inn nearby,do we have to pay the fees on reward nights? Any difference between the IHG cc free night or points night for that fee? thanks....

I've never had to pay the "resort fee" on any FNC or points stays at Holiday Inns, even the ones that were the "Holiday Inn Resort". And we've stayed at SO many Holiday Inns since we've both held those cards since 2015...

so the 2 times with Delta this year, I haven't actually had to approach someone they call me (for my delayed flights) which is how I found out they canceled my return trip last hurricane here before my wife did. When we were coming back from Hawaii we knew we weren't going to make the layover since the flight was delayed I was going to change it online then I got a page to the desk (i was at the sky club) I thought it was weird the lady had already rebooked me for the first flight out of lax the following day because she said we weren't going to make it even gave us first. The same thing happened coming back from LAX they called me the day before saying it was canceled (that plane was full though so I got stuck in the back). I am a platinum with delta and little things like this are what make me loyal (for the most part) to the delta. Just sometimes the routes don't work out.

Ok,that's interesting, I'm not sure why I thought they still charged it on a points stay... this is good. Anyone know if there's a way to check the points cost of a hilton stay if you don't have the full amount of points (yet) in my acct? I'm trying to make a decision about a couple of places to stay.... I have one booked, which doesn't leav enough in m acct to check the points price at another....

Is there a government form you have to fill out when you buy a certain amount of money orders? I was just told this at a grocery store where I get money orders to pay for my kid’s tuition. She wouldn’t tell me how much the limit was just that she noticed I was buying a lot recently and if I hit the limit I would have to fill out a form.

It doesn't but from what I read a missed payment on a biz card can /does get reported to the personal credit. I'm just not sure what that would look like given that it's not on his personal report to begin with. Time will tell I suppose!
FWIW Years ago I missed a payment on a sock-drawered personal card and my score dropped. When I realized what happened, I called the bank and was able to get them to remove the ding from my credit report. Once removed, my score bounced back to where it was before.

I only have a small amount of points (10K) at the moment in my Hilton account, but I'm able to use the app to search any stay (while signed in), even though I don't have the points. I just tried it and it still works. It shows the points price per night for each type of room, once you select the specific room, then you can click the "Rate Details" and see the total price in points for the entire stay.

I think banks have to report over $10,000 in a single transaction. Found this by googling, i would expect all sellers of MO have the same reporting (Weird she wouldn't tell you the amounts.)-

NOTICE TO CUSTOMER: By federal law, the United States Postal Service® is required to obtain information from the purchaser of money orders, wire transfers, and stored value cards when the dollar amount of cash purchases total $3,000 or more (31 USC 5325 and 5331). Multiple purchases during one business day totaling $3,000 or more must be treated as one purchase, and the information must be obtained if a Postal Service™ employee knows or has reason to believe that multiple purchases are being made. Postal Service policy also requires information to be obtained for cash purchases of wire transfers and stored value cards between $1,000 and $3,000. Additionally, federal law requires the Postal Service to obtain information from persons who redeem/cash money orders totaling more than $10,000 during the same day.

Where I am $3000 at Food Lion triggers a form. I only do $1000 at a time.

like others have said i think its 3k.

Ok so it's a certain amount in one transaction that triggers the form? Because the woman I spoke with made it seem like it was a cumulative amount.
If it was a cumulative amount I'd have lots of forms. When I convert to MOs I often do six $1000 transactions in a week--generally at the same Food Lion. They would have no way of knowing if I'd been there the day before unless I kept getting the same employee with a really good memory.
