Including @havaneselover, who I think was also interested. So the answer is yes and no, but probably won't be ideal for the infrequent Instacart user. So once you get a digital gift card, you can load it to your Instacart account. Then you check a box indicating if you want to use it or not. So it's YES or NO, but you can't specify an amount.

Like @CyndiLouWho , I almost exclusively shop at Aldi using Instacart. So I'm spending around $100 each week. So these GCs work well for me when I have a smaller amount left on the GC and then I'll use one of my Chase cards for the difference.

For peeps who are primarily only using Instacart to take advantage of the credits, consider buying Instacart GCs at Kroger in $25 increments when they are running a 4x fuel points promo, like they are now. Only load $25 to your account. I know my Aldi has a $35 min spend for free pickup, so then you can put the difference on a Freedom and get your $10 Freedom credit. After your 14% fuel points savings and free $10, $35 worth of groceries will only cost you $21.50, so you'll be saving almost 40% between fuel points and Chase savings. Plus you can earn a few Delta points if you've linked your accounts.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown! I will try to get some of the smaller amounts to save even more when using the chase credits.

SWA priority boarding credits... (w/ the right cc) it's per calendar year,or user year? I used mine last May, do they reset in January,or not till after Feb,when the new AF is charged? How do I look to see if I have any available?
**** Nevermind...I found my answer- so I clicked on my acct page, looked at rewards, and there's a counter on the right side showing they reset after AF this year..... in case anyone else needs to know this lol. I doubt I'll get to use those b/c I don't plan to keep the card...

Coming back from Cabo was much better than going! Cabo Airport Shuttle picked me up and delivered me to the airport 3 hours before my flight. Since I had carry-on only and ds wanted a bottle of tequila and dd wanted to try mezcal, I went to the duty free store after clearing security (easy peasy). The store in the airport is huge and well laid out. The clerk at check-out asked if I had a direct flight or transfer and proceeded to put each bottle (including hot sauce for ds) in separate duty free bags with a receipt visible in each bag. More on that later.

After duty free I headed to the Priority Pass lounge. Upon arrival I was told it was full and I would have to wait 20 mins. But less than 5 mins later I was allowed in and selected a seat on a small couch in the back part of the lounge. The menu was very small and included a ham and cheese sandwich, veggie sandwich, lentil soup, pasta salad and cookies. I had the ham and cheese sandwich, which while very small was good. Trying to flag a member of the wait staff down was a bit of a chore because the lounge was busy, but not impossible. When I left I asked for a bottle of water, but was told that they had run out. My flight to Dallas was a half hour late departing; I was very disappointed it was late leaving because my layover was 2 hours and I wanted to try the Centurion lounge (I've never been in one).

Flight back I was in biz class and really appreciated the bigger seat and extra space relative to my flight down. When we landed I had 90 mins to make my connection. I thought this would be a breeze, but I seriously underestimated the size of DFW. Oh my goodness it is huge! I also didn't realize that I would have to clear customs and security (landed in Terminal D). The line for customs was huge, but there is a GE area, which I headed to -- no line there, thank goodness, no line at security either. I asked at security if the bottles of tequila and mezcal would be an issue (both larger than 3.3oz) and was told no as long as they were properly sealed. Once my items went through the x-ray machine a TSA officer opened the bags with the alcohol and swabbed each of them, then carefully re-sealed them with TSA tape (in case I had to clear security again). I give full credit to the cashier at the duty free shop for bagging everything exactly as was needed, even though it seemed excessive at the time.

If ever I wanted a flight to be delayed, it was that connecting flight to Toronto, alas it was still showing on time. I realized that I'd have to skip the Centurion lounge, and instead thought I'd try the AA lounge in Terminal A, where I was departing from. This was a mistake on my part. After taking the train to Terminal A, I made my way to the AA lounge. I only had time to add an extra layer of clothes in the bathroom when I got notification that my flight was boarding. I found myself hustling to get to the gate, which took 10 minutes and when I arrived they were already at group 5! All this way and still no bottle of water (I tried at the AA lounge but the bartender wanted $3.50 :headache: -- in AC lounges bottles of water are free). Flight left on time and arrived at YYZ 15 minutes early. I still can't believe it took me over an hour to make the connection (GE wasn't an issue, security took maybe 10 mins extra for the inspection of the alcohol) -- it was mostly the time on the train and walking (I figure I walked at least 1.2 miles, probably more). Left the WA at 9:55 am MT and arrived home at 11:00pm EST.

Was gone the past four days so have a lot of pages to catch up on, but just wanted to share how we used the Amex Plat FHR credits. Went to Vegas for 3 nights, first night at Bellagio using the 2022 credit, then moved to Wynn using the 2023 credit. We still spent way too much, everything is so expensive there and the $50+ resort fee per night is a total racket in my opinion. But, I added what we saved using all of the benefits and it added up to $755, plus $400 in United credits (also using 2022 and 2023). We also accessed the Centurion Lounge in Vegas, glad we went this month since starting Feb. 1 I will have to pay for a guest. DH who has the gold card is also considering getting the Plat, but we have to talk about that some more. Highlight of the trip, ADELE!!! She put on a fantastic show! I would see it again, 100%! For dinner, our big splurge was the Mayfair Supper Club at Bellagio, so much fun!

eta: I also used my $15 Uber credit.

Planning to visit Italy and Spain summer 2024. Was thinking that AF is probably the best way to get 4 tickets in J, but then I just remembered that Paris will be hosting the Olympics that summer. We plan to travel in June, before the Olympics - do any of you see a problem trying to fly through Paris in early/mid June?
We'll fly back from Madrid in early July.

TBH, Paris (and its airport) is always busy so not sure the Olympics would have any effect on the mayhem known as CDG 🤣 As always, the challenge will be getting 4 seats-may the odds be in your favor!

Anyone have experience resetting a Chase due date? I just got approved for a personal Chase SW cc, step 2 towards companion pass. I see my due date is March 12, so my statement date is probably something like March 15. That's almost two months from now! I was hoping to move my due date to the beginning of the month, but when I attempt to do it online, it won't allow it, likely because the account is so new.

Got a call from Chase fraud regarding my SW app. Called and verified phone number and address. “The bank still needs time. You will hear from us in 1-2 weeks. “
Good sign or bad sign?

I am now under 5/24 and want to take advantage of the elevated SUB for a CIU and get a SW CP. Before I start applying for cards I wanted to verify that my timing will not be an issue.

Current Chase Cards
4/21 - CSP
4/21 - CSR
3/22 - CIC
9/22 - Aeroplan

1/23 - Apply for a CIC
5/23 - Apply for a SW Biz CC
7/23 - Apply for a SW Personal CC

I want to have the SW CP so I can book flights to Hawaii for July 2024 when the schedule opens up sometime after mid-August 2023. I can push the personal cc out to 8/23 if SW pushes their schedule out to the fall.

Does anyone see any issue in my timing, especially between the SW Biz and Personal cards? Thank you.

If due date is 3/12, then statement should close 2/15.

I've been able to change easily over the phone. Moved it so that year end spending would post in new year when working towards 22 CP.

So I tried to pay my taxes via paypal bill pay. The CC shows that the charge posted, but my taxes account isn't showing the $900 reflected. I guess I need to call and check with them. I was trying to pay via paypal to see if I can avoid the charges that the township website charges.

Is there a way to "pay" my annual fee on my jetblue card before it posts? I want to have the spend met and the AF paid ASAP so I can get these points.

Sorry, not sorry! We got $450 bonus from Cap One and $100 from Marcus last year, Ally will be giving me $300 soon, and on track for another $100 from Marcus this year. So there are other opportunities! This is my first Chase offer to try, not sure we will get the DD to work for the checking bonus, I usually don't try the offers with direct deposit requirements because it is hard for us to fulfill.
I did a bunch of them this year. And I'm doing a $1k one through Huntington right now. But still jealous of the Chase bonuses, LOL.

Instant approval for a new CIC, $5000 CL. Requested expedited through SM. We definitely need a new water heater, I wish I had gotten the card earlier because today's other repairs were $1100! Oh well. We've been in this house less than 2 years and there is a lot of stuff that needs to be replaced/upgraded/fixed in some way.

from my experience the farther out the easier you can get the 115k-120k flights the fees went up. but the closer you get the less availability there is. im assuming you want to go lie flat.

You should be fine to apply for the CIU.

Hey peeps-- it's been a while! I kinda broke up with Disney for a while but as with all bad relationships we are back on again.

I am going to WDW in Feb and have the 10x dining going on with my Amex Plat (Resy signup). Does anybody know if you can buy Disney gift cards at on site restaurants? Just trying to think of how I can maximize the 10x restaurants while we are there when ultimately on a trip I prefer to charge my daily in park stuff to my MB and deal with at the end.

Have gold and got an upgrade offer for 100000 pts

This is exactly what I did last summer. Had the gold and got the 100K upgrade offer, plus 5x points for gas, groceries and restaurants for the first 6 months. That 6 months ends in Feb., so before it does, I plan to stock up on grocery/gas gift cards to earn more points. After my year is up, I will likely downgrade to gold, we'll see. I know it's often suggested to have both cards, but I personally didn't want both annual fees and I thought it was a good upgrade. I was also able to take advantage of 2 years worth of benefits for a 1 year annual fee.

For the $900 Chase bonus, am I suppose to get an email about the bonus post opening accounts? I opened last Friday and haven't get any email. I do see the to-do list for the checking and saving bonus listed under accounts, but nothing on the $400 bonus.
