Hey peeps-- it's been a while! I kinda broke up with Disney for a while but as with all bad relationships we are back on again.

I am going to WDW in Feb and have the 10x dining going on with my Amex Plat (Resy signup). Does anybody know if you can buy Disney gift cards at on site restaurants? Just trying to think of how I can maximize the 10x restaurants while we are there when ultimately on a trip I prefer to charge my daily in park stuff to my MB and deal with at the end.
I've never seen a dgc at a restaurant.

The Beach Club Marketplace at Beach Club hotel is both quick service restaurant and gift shop. I haven't been there in awhile, but I believe most of the cash registers are in one spot whether you are paying for food or souvenirs. (IIRC, there was one cash register in the souvenir area but it was seldom open.) They should sell gift cards. But I don't know how purchases are coded for purposes of credit card rewards.

The Marketplace at Ale & Compass at Yacht Club hotel might work the same way, but I'm not positive. Also I think there might be some value hotels where it's the same set of registers for gift shop and food court, but I'm not sure.

Excellent! I will be on a recon mission this trip.

Edit:I looked up Beach Club Marketplace on the Award Wallet tool and it looks like it codes as dining so fingers crossed. We are staying at SSR and I don't usually spend much time in the main buildings so I'll investigate there as well. If I could load up on DGC that earn 10x I will be very happy.

For the $900 Chase bonus, am I suppose to get an email about the bonus post opening accounts? I opened last Friday and haven't get any email. I do see the to-do list for the checking and saving bonus listed under accounts, but nothing on the $400 bonus.
Ours took 3 business days, So maybe give it a little more time. (I would think if you have both the $200 and $300 checking bonuses listed, you should be good.)

I have a Chase SWA Business card and want to refer someone. Am I correct that who I refer can either get a personal SWA card or a business card and I will earn the referral bonus? They don’t have to get a business card just because it’s the one I have?

When we landed I had 90 mins to make my connection. I thought this would be a breeze, but I seriously underestimated the size of DFW. Oh my goodness it is huge!
On our first trip to Costa Rica our return flight had a layover at DFW and I felt the same. We stopped at the bathroom and got water and RAN to the gate to find the flight attendant calling our names as they were about to close the door.
Instant approval for a new CIC, $5000 CL. Requested expedited through SM. We definitely need a new water heater, I wish I had gotten the card earlier because today's other repairs were $1100! Oh well. We've been in this house less than 2 years and there is a lot of stuff that needs to be replaced/upgraded/fixed in some way.
I feel your pain. We have been in this house 17 months and have replaced, in no particular order, furnace, washing machine, refrigerator, dishwasher and stove. Also had the crawl space sealed, had a random roof leak right before Christmas (couldn't find source, 🤞🏼It doesn't recur) and the gazebo we paid the previous owners $500 extra for blew over the fence during a wind storm and was destroyed.

Yes that’s correct ….the support link will show all SW cards..they need to pick the card they are applying for

Does bank of america match offers? My mom and sister applied for the Alaska Air card last week and now they have an offer for 70,000 points plus $100 statement credit available. When they applied it was for 50,000 points with no statement credit. I will have them call if it would do any good.

I'm going to use my AmEx Plat to sign up for Clear in the next few days. I know in the past there have been perks for signing up through various vendors (I think United Airlines and Uber). Does anyone know of any current offers?

I believe through United you can get it for $119 if you are a "MileagePlus" member.

It's been a long while since I did a Chase paperless statement offer, does anyone recall when they paid out? Was targeted for $10, completed it in Dec a couple weeks before the deadline, haven't seen the credit. Does it come when the next statement closes maybe?

They just sent me another email for $10 again on a different card this time but not trying to give away the goods  Like to make sure it's tracking before I try again.

I have gotten them on a few cards. Usually credit a few days after the first paperless statement, then I just go back and change to paper. :-)
And for the record, still posting just after first paperless statement. Took 4 days this time. I must have just timed it poorly to have Dec statement be paperless, so it felt like a long time.

Also general FYI, if you'll get a 1099 from Chase credit, most likely because of support points, both paperless statement credits and retention offers are also considered income. Last time I did one I was only targeted for $5, despite holding out for a while hoping for $10, I took it and sure enough it was part of my 1099 that year.

I’ve been looking at the AA website and British airways almost daily tracking flights to Tokyo. We won’t be able to book until June but I’m kind of concerned. It was recently showing availability every single day and now all of the sudden there haven’t been flights available at all. Idk what changed

I called AA yesterday to sort out my flight from YYZ-->ORD-->SJD. I had forgotten that I paid cash (combination of a credit voucher from a cancelled trip in November and $307.44 cash). The CSR said the difference in the fare between economy and biz class will be automatically refunded to me within 8 days.

I filed an e-mail complaint about the way AA handled the cancelled flight (no notification whatsoever) and the rude attitude of the gate agent for the YYZ-->DFW flight. I received a response this morning that they are sorry blah, blah, blah and that they would be depositing miles into my account within 24 hours. No mention of the amount, but I don't expect many. I hope that they discipline the gate agent for her extremely poor attitude and giving out incorrect information.

If due date is 3/12, then statement should close 2/15.

I've been able to change easily over the phone. Moved it so that year end spending would post in new year when working towards 22 CP.

Lol, well that makes sense that there would have to be a February statement for there to be anything to pay in March. Whew, feel so much better about CP now. It was getting way too close to travel dates for my comfort.

Before I realized the timing will work perfectly, I did call Chase. They weren't sure if I changed due dates to the first if it would change to March 1 or April 1, so I just left it alone. Just a note of caution that way for people thinking of messing with their dates for CP.

Is it that the jal flight isn't there or that there's no seats in first or biz? They become available over night so if it's the seats someone is probably buying them. Also if it's the seats look at them on jal and the seat map you'll be able to figure out from a flight that has seats and one that doesn't how many seats can be there to still have partner availability.

Now if it's that they aren't there at all I don't know, haven't seen anything other than someone using aa to book them a week or so ago.

I am now under 5/24 and want to take advantage of the elevated SUB for a CIU and get a SW CP. Before I start applying for cards I wanted to verify that my timing will not be an issue.

Current Chase Cards
4/21 - CSP
4/21 - CSR
3/22 - CIC
9/22 - Aeroplan

1/23 - Apply for a CIC
5/23 - Apply for a SW Biz CC
7/23 - Apply for a SW Personal CC

I want to have the SW CP so I can book flights to Hawaii for July 2024 when the schedule opens up sometime after mid-August 2023. I can push the personal cc out to 8/23 if SW pushes their schedule out to the fall.

Does anyone see any issue in my timing, especially between the SW Biz and Personal cards? Thank you.

The timing looks fine to me from the standpoint of Chase velocity approvals. If you could move the 5/23 SW Biz to 4/23, I might recommend that.

As for CP timing, if the goal is to have CP in hand by the mid-August, that doesn't seem realistic. But I don't usually book my companion tickets until a few months prior to the trip. I book the primary ticket as soon as schedule releases, then check frequently for price reductions. I don't book the companion ticket until later bc if there is a price reduction, I have to cancel the companion ticket in order to change the primary ticket, and then rebook both. So it's a hassle. I haven't been burned yet, but it could happen.

If you need CP in hand at the time of schedule release, I would allow probably two months after card app. I just apped on 1/22 and it seems my statement will close on 2/15, so that's about a month, but always good to give yourself buffer.

IDK if you've looked into when the schedules are releasing, but right now it seems like only about 8 months of schedule will be open at max. "On February 9, 2023, we will open our schedule for sale through October 4, 2023" So my guess is that July 2024 wouldn't open until more like December 2023, but perhaps you've looked at more historical openings and have a better idea.
