Is there any way to transfer my UR points off my CIP to DH's Hyatt account? It's not letting me do it online.

If he has a CSP/CSR/CIP, it would be easiest to household combine your points to his card and then transfer to Hyatt from there. If he doesn't, then you could add him as an AU on your CIP, then you would be able to transfer to his Hyatt.

Last option would be to transfer to your Hyatt account and then points combine to his Hyatt account. There's a form that you have to e-mail in and you can only send or receive points every 30 days.

My SW companion pass plan has failed and I need to readjust quickly. I have CP through the end of 24 but planned on getting DW the CP before the end of the year so that we have a CP in place when fly back from Hawaii on 1/4/25.

She got the personal SW card and earned the bonus in August, so the plan was to get her a business card and meet the bonus before the end of the year so we would be set, but she was declined for too many cards and too little revenue. I knew I was going a little quicker than the normal 3 months in between cards but thought it would be ok. Seems like they are cracking down on business cards lately.

So, I think the only way to earn the CP is through spend on the card, as we’re not going to pay for flights. Our normal spend isn’t going to get us there, so I need to be creative. I’m thinking the best bet is to prepay some bills where I can. I’m thinking property taxes and home insurance will have the biggest impact, but might see about our electric or phone bill and see if I can get ahead on that as well. Then I may buy a boatload of gift cards to the grocery store or other frequent retailers.

Any other ideas? Not ideal, but the Hawaii flight is about $900, so it’s meaningful and we’ll use the CP some throughout the year.
How many points are needed to get to CP? I would check for both DW and yourself to be sure you understand how many points either of you might need.

If it would be a significant amount of spend, I would encourage you to rethink how you'll get there. Here's some options:

  1. Support links for opening a cc. Perhaps you or a family member/friend need to open a card and use DW's support link
  2. RR shopping portal. Sort by highest earning. There's often things like home meal delivery service that are worth a few thousand points
  3. Check your chase targeted spending offers and activate any offers if spending on the personal SW card is the way to go
But, I really think you should take @wanderlust7 's advice and close one of the 2 biz cards that have been open for more than a year. Make sure her balances are really clean and your credit limits are fairly low, both personal and biz. Reapply in 30 days, but not sooner than 91 days from the August personal card. Admittedly, that might make opening the card in November, hitting spend and closing this year fairly tight. Let us know what that 91 day date is and we can weigh in on if we think you can open a card that late and close in time for points to post this year yet.

Some dps from me from app date to bonus posting:
- 23 days
- 29 days (apped 11/02, bonus received 12/01)

If after P2 has apped again, I think you can still pivot to the rapid spending plan on the personal card, if she's denied or closing date doesn't look promising.

I suspect it's all Chase business cards including cobrands. There was a recent DP here of a denial at 3 Inks and a cobrand. I've seen others too. But it's hard to tell for sure because some are able to be approved at 4 open, or even more.
Agree..DPs seem all over the place…since I was denied in February with 4 inks and a SW business…I’ve applied twice since with 3 inks and the SW..also with balances on them and been auto approved…thinking of rolling the dice and seeing if I’ll be approved with 5 business this month but not sure yet..will report back if I do

You can probably buy a guided tour for much cheaper through the official colloseum archeology site. This one includes the underground and the arena. I am not sure, do some research, but looks like they become available 30 days prior and availability seems like it goes quickly, as there is only one day available in the next 30 days. Note there are firm restrictions on the number of tickets you can buy, so if you have a larger group, have two different people buy the tickets from different accounts and different credit cards, or they will think you are a reseller.

What we liked is that it's a two day ticket, so we were able to do the Colosseum one day and then came back and did Roman Forum/ Palantine Hill the following day, which we were just mesmerized by. We did the Rick Steve audio tour for Roman Forum/Palantine Hill (free app) and it was just perfect for us.
@StephPlum @FreeDiningFanatic - getting back from a trip and hope that I'm not too late for this comment. :)

I second the comment about touring over two days, if you can. We did the Colosseum and the Roman Forum/Palantine Hill in a 3-4 hour span in late June and it was LONG and HOT. I would certainly have done a split tour with just the Colosseum on day 1 if I were to do it over again.

I have read conflicting advice on when a CC drops off the Chase 5/24 radar screen. I have two cards that will be 24 months old in October. One was opened 10/4/22 (down to 4/24) and the other was opened 10/13/22 (down to 3/24). I have read that Chase would consider me under 5/24 on October 1st and another source that it wouldn't be until November 1st. Anyone have an idea which is correct? Thanks.

I currently have 2 Triple Cash cards, and I’ve also had a Leverage card. So yes, you can definitely have multiple, and multiple of the same card.
Instant approval, with an absurd credit line, for the Triple Cash. I needed something LOL, so this sounded decent. May still do the Barclays AA. Now hopefully it gets here by the end of next week, property taxes are due.

Nov 1 is wrong. If it was ever correct, it was way in the past.

The system will calculate based on Month and Year, so 1st day of the 24th month should work when it processes the app - you'd be 3/24 in its calculations. If you have to recon or otherwise have a human look, DPs are that they calculate to the day as listed in the CR.

IIRC Experian doesn't list the day on the reports, just month and year. So speculation for a while was for people who only have EX pulled that they were x/24 on the 1st of the month. But positive DPs for others that didn't have EX pulled were found. So perhaps that is part of why they calculate that way rather than creating separate rules for each CR being read.

I'm a bit cautious so for me I'd apply 10/2 at the earliest anyway, but since it's so close, if I didn't have a deadline expiring, I'd just wait for 10/5. If one can't wait, worth the risk before and then if not system approved, recon on the 5th. Very slim chance a rep will cite Nov 1 as the drop off, but if so, HUCA.

Good reminder. I ended up doing a speculative transfer of 50K to Hilton to take advantage of the bonus. I am hoping it will help me do some 5th nt free bookings in 2026.
Exactly the same for me. That took me to the number I needed for some 5th night free, higher redemption awards. With SLH, it's been quite the wild ride of new opportunities.

For those following my saga of Hyatt charging my credit card $800+, 45 days after a stay, claiming I failed to notify them of our late arrival (therefore cancellation fee):

The hotel rooms manager responnded to my original email response, reversed the credit card charges and worked with Hyatt to deduct the correct points amount for our stay. She apologized for the "inconvenience."

What I took away:
  • I feel like I am very diligent about documentation, but I hadn't thought to screenshot my notification of late arrival. I'll be more regimented about that in the future
  • Once a hotel has your cc guarantee, they can and will use it at their discretion, with arbitrary prices. I have to be willing to not use a reward program/lose points stranded in that program, if I ever need to go the chargeback route.
    • Since I book travel a bit out and sometimes do speculative transfers for fav programs, that could mean leaving a lot of points on a table if I ever got into a hefty dispute.

New PYB categories until 1/31/25 on my CSR this morning…utilities, insurance, gas, fitness clubs & gym membership, annual fee and select charities
Ugh. This has not been my month for CC stuff. I just had new tires installed on my car at BJs yesterday and paid with my CSR because I was planning on using PYB. The categories changing was not even on my radar. I wish I'd done it sooner. :sad2:

That's a relief. I'm glad they finally made it right.

Thanks for the input. We decided we don’t want to risk our relationship with Chase with too many apps. They locked me down a few years ago for both business and personal and it was a royal pain going back and forth before they finally opened me back up. I don’t know that they keep eyes on my accounts but don’t want to push the envelope after being denied.

We came up with a spending plan to hit the CP. It’s a bit aggressive but luckily the credit limit is high enough on her card that we should be able to get there in 2 months without having to cycle payments. I think our big ticket items will get us over halfway there and just going to use that card for everything else. We are not going to spend just for the sake of spending, and will make up whatever our shortage is in December in gift cards that we’ll spend in 2025.

We evaluated if we’ll get enough value out of the CP in 2025 to go this route and think we will. Luckily, it’s attainable without having to earn another credit card bonus.

Quick question for Hyatt CC holders, do you get a free night for paying the initial AF, or is it only after paying subsequent ones every card anniversary? I plan to apply later this Fall and I'll likely keep the card long term.

It's only after the first anniversary. I think Aspire is the only one that gives the free night soon after card opening.
