I’m almost ready to book flights to Costa Rica for April. I’m doing jet blue out of MCO with points. When I select round trip it says - I might want to book one ways for more flexibility. Then when I book one way it says “you may need to show proof of a return ticket.” As long as I have a return booked - is booking one ways the better way to move forward? Is it easy enough to just show on my phone that I have return flights booked?

We flew to LIR and home from SJO. They questioned why we didn’t have a RT ticket. When we explained we were flying back from San Jose and showed them the ticket, all was good.

We booked two one ways when we went last December. Flew in/out of SJO. No issues whatsoever, they just asked how many days we were staying and where, but didn't even ask to see the return ticket.

OK so I did the dreaded thing..... DS needed a quick flight to visit a friend at end of month, so I booked him thru the Chase portal using my CSR leverage (it was a great deal!!!) I know all the stories,(along with all the ones that go just fine) but I've never booked air thru portal before If any of you have, are you familiar with the conf codes they provide? I'm familiar with the trip id#, and then the Conf# for airline,
this booking has a 3rd # called "Agency reference #" - what is that for?
(and yes,I'm aware of the pitfalls of going thru portal, but this price difference will hopefully be worth any upcoming hassle)

That's how the agency would look up the reservation. Like I use a Disney ta and I get a res # specific to the travel agency I use whenever I make a payment or ask questions. Then I have my actual Disney #, for the airline would be the pnr (confirmation) you got and can use on the airlines website/app.

I did the online application for the Chase Disney Visa card last weekend (~4 days ago)

About how long does it take to get approved?

For me it has varied with chase…from instant approval to taking around 2 weeks….do you have any Chase personal cards…if so you can look online to see if it has shown up in your account

I need some fridge recommendations please
Samsung

I got my 28 cubic foot, French door, flex zone drawer and bottom freezer with the access door on the right to get out milk and other things without exposing the whole interior in August of 2020 on sale at Costco.com for $1999. I was slightly attracted to the ones with a family hub, but tech changes so fast I didn't really want old technology 'if' my fridge lasts 15 years like my previous one. Crossing fingers on that, haha.

So far, love it and no problems. It's probably too big for us but I don't care as I can see what I want when I open it up. Really love the flex zone drawer!

Ice and water are in the door and the newer ones seemed to have changed this. It works fine for us.

Now I hope I haven't jinxed myself by writing this out.

Bought 2 LGs over the last 6 months or so. Seemed like LG was rated best by Consumer Reports. I like how the veg/drawers are designed in LG. We bought one with fancy ice for our home in FL. The fridge and freezer are huge.

I would stay away from Samsung. Their ice makers are notorious for big issues.

I second this. My in-laws in FL have had issues with Samsung fridges.

We have an LG with French doors, bottom freezer, and the side panel for quick access to items like milk. We like it and haven't had any issues since purchasing in 2020.

We did not get the version with the ice maker because those are the parts more likely to break (or so we read on CR) plus then we'd be a captive market for LG's water filters and I'd rather use different ones that remove microplastics and PFAS.

Our current one is Samsung and it sucks!

I have a number of Samsung apps appliances and no problems with any of them including the fridge. Ours has an ice maker but it’s not hooked up, we are just not ice people. Lol. LG is off limits for us, my dad would roll over in his grave and likely haunt us for buying LG.

I have an Economy class, domestic, round trip flight booked on United for me and DH. I used miles for the fare and my DH's United Gateway card for the fees. So, I should not get checked on bags, right?

DH has decided that he wants us to check one bag. I went into his account to add the bag and I see:

and
a check mark next to prepaid bags:
View attachment 884002

I did not pay for bags when I booked these flights. Any ideas why it seems as if I can take on two checked bags?

ETA: The United Gateway card used to be the personal one with the AF - many years ago. I downgraded it to the Gateway after we had it for one year.
Replying to myself to see if anyone has any ideas why I might have free checked bags on this flight????

The ice maker is the problem in our fridge. It constantly freezes over and the fan stops working. We’ve had to defrost it too many times to count. Today it said our fridge was 36 degrees and it absolutely was not. Things had spoiled. We opened the freezer and all of our popsicles were melted. It’s been one thing after another with this fridge. We have friends in the neighborhood with a Samsung and they hate theirs too.
