Was thinking of you as I watched the game on Sunday. What a game for your DS to experience and his favorite player scoring as well. :D
It was excellent! Purchased tix thru a travel agency (Sold out game, couldn't get 3 seats together through the club) which gave us access to free food and non alcoholic beverages pre game. 2nd row, center line.

Anyone know if a chase card can be canceled online via SM or do I have to call? Not sure what the current position is on this.

She did have an excel sheet with every card she ever had, when it opened, if she closed it, and points redeemed. I don't think anyone has gone through her computer yet. My dad was under the impression her cards were automatically closed when the death certificate was issued. Does anyone know if this is the case and what would happen to her points? We had all of her reservations from the vacation we had planned last month canceled and refunded so she should at least have those points.

My father was an authorized user on many of her accounts; would that help? Or a history of transferring points? I have transferred points with her before.

Thank you! It has just been a hobby the last few years, but I am planning to return to school to study health communications and education and I would use professional writing in that sphere.

I'm so sorry for what you're going through. There was recently a post on reddit about what to do in the event of a loved one's passing and transferring their points. It seems some programs will immediately shut down the account when the death is reported by you (with potential loss of points), so it might be in your best interest to see if you can get into her excel sheet or accounts and see what accounts have what point balances. From there, it might make sense to concentrate on the highest point balances. We are willing to help you decipher what a point balance might mean as well, because 70k Chase UR points are worth a significant more than say 70k IHG or Hilton points.

Many programs allow you to transfer to household members, authorized users and pool with family members. Other programs do not, or charge a fee to transfer points.

I'm going to link to the reddit post here but please know that not everyone is kind over on reddit and to just try to bypass any jerk comments.

P.S. I'm not sure how your mom handled paying cc balances, etc and if those were set to autopay, but that might be the first thing to look at.

Back from London. Generally had a great time, with a few snafus. Got to see a great football (soccer) game from the 2nd row with our team winning 5-1! On the downside, DH now + for COVID.
We booked most of our activities thru Chase portal including our airport transfer. The driver no-showed and we are supposed to be refunded. Anyone know how to get those points back from Chase?
Not sure if my experience will apply to yours, but I recently booked a hotel stay with a rate including breakfast on my CSP through the UR portal. The hotel denied me breakfast saying that it wasn't included. I called Chase UR's and while they weren't able to refund any of my money (it was a cash booking), they said they would give the equivalent in URs (still waiting and it's been 5 business days).

This.

Also, I found an offer of 10% off up to $15 on my Amex Brilliant and on an authorized user card, so paid my car insurance with the brilliant this time. I did a split and will use the AU card on the second half once the $15 credits. Insurance was not due until mid April so lots of time.

Replying to myself:

This morning I was paying the amex card for this insurance and remembered the offer. It hasn't shown up yet - 2 weeks. I checked the card and there is no sign of it - gone.

It's still on the AU card and the second half is not due until June, although normally I would pay all of it in April. Guess I'll call them. The offer had an end of year expiration, so it didn't expire.

Just thought to look to see if I got the 'you used your offer' email and I did, on March 22nd. Guess I'll give them a little more time. So annoying when they dilly dally.

I'm not sure I can help much with the rest, but unless your dad requested the accounts closed they do not get closed automatically. My dad passed 8 years ago and my mom left some of his stuff open to this day. I finally made her close the Discover card in his name, with her AU, last year and get a new one in her name. Any he is AU on I'd definitely log in and transfer any points out that he is able.

Great posts! Thanks for sharing. Anyone with links or info, I'm sure the information will be appreciated.

I know it'll notify me of a message but I've never had it take this long to get even the 1st response on amex chat. Using the app. Know their stuff has been bad the past week or so but I expect it before 10 min like normal. Maybe by the end of the week it'll be resolved 😂 just want my resort credit.

Eta and now almost 30 min later the chat box is gone so I guess that's the end of that.

What is the recommended spacing between a Chase Business card and a Chase Personal card? P2 is 3 months past last CIU as of 3/27 and I am currently working on my CIU. We have a big spend coming up and are tossing around the idea of P2 getting both the biz & personal version of the IHG card.

Thanks

it depends on your velocity afterwards and how your AAOA is currently. U can go for a Chase Biz and Chase Personal in the same month if u wanted, but your likely best to hold off for awhile afterwards... but in general, we recommend 1 chase card per 3 months if that will be a constant thing.

I heard 1 in 13 got covid in the uk last week or something crazy like that. I’m so nervous about testing positive in Barcelona precruise.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with so much right now. The cards probably aren't closed. My advice would be to move as many points as you can to your DF (or anyone else sharing the accounts). You can also try to use the points or transfer them to partner company (and use your DF's name) like moving bank points to Hyatt or an airline if you can't do anything else with them. Lastly, we were able to get my DF's airline points moved to DM's account by calling and explaining and asking nicely, but I'd save that for a last resort since once you tell them what has happened they can just cancel the account altogether. I'm sure your mother would want you all to travel and use her points and if you can find that Excel doc I think it will help you a lot.

Hope this helps.

Finally did get an amex chat rep. Got the it'll take 8 to 12 weeks. So yay I get to pay it and then do something with the credit later. Did open a case to look at it categorizing as other. Hilton shouldn't be able to do other, esp when they allow you to charge to your room and it's on a Hilton branded card.

I'm not a hyatt fanboy. They just aren't where I travel. But I saw that Hyatt and AMR are joining forces. The BF and I are fan's of AIs. So now I'm thinking I might want to dip my toes into Hyatt. It looks like the offers for the hyatt cards are rather weak. Am I just as good transfering URs to Hyatt? Is there anything else I'm in the hyatt world?

Has anyone heard what kind of problem they are having? I had to log in and out a few times between my biz and personal accounts to get my info to show. Hope they weren't hacked and not talking....
