My flight later is already posted as late. Hopefully the delay doesn’t increase
As a former flight attendant, an hour delay is not enough for me to complain. I probably would't complain unless it were more than 2 hours. Even then I might only complain if the airline had failed to keep me updated. Mechanical delays are common and safety obviously comes first. Complaining about lack of updates is always ok.

I am having a hard time finding a decent premium economy or business points rate for our return flight from Europe next August. There is a very good economy rate on Lufthansa through United. Thinking about going ahead and booking the economy tix and trying to upgrade later. Anybody have experience doing this?

ETA: or maybe even booking a third ticket at this great rate since that would give us more room and ensure no one sits next to us in economy. Thoughts?

For those that have booked a cruise recently and used the Amex offer, it just has to be booked by 12/31 not traveled to receive the credit correct? I’m looking at a cheap 4 day on Carnival total with taxes, insurance and gratuity comes to $1,538. It just has to be more than $1,500, not before taxes, gratuities correct?

The charge needs to come through before 12/31 and be from Carnival reservations. Is the Carnival one $1500? I thought only RCCL had one that high.

ETA: I see there's a $1500 one for Carnival. So taxes definitely work, I think prepaid gratuities work too. I'm not sure about insurance. If memory serves, excursions and buying OBC don't work with Carnival because the charge comes through the Fun Shop.

awesome, thank you.

I opened the biz and personal plats in January, 2020. If I purchase 2 x United Travel Bank credits on January 2nd (1 on each card), then cancel the cards when the AF posts, will the airline credits be clawed back? Anyone have any experience with this? I may keep the personal if I get a decent retention offer. Unlikely that I will keep the biz.

I’m planning to apply for the Capital One Venture x card. I’m 3/5 at the moment. I was going to wait until January but I see the end date is 12/10/2021 to apply. I got a SW priority personal card on 10/22/21. My last card prior to that was United Quest on 6/7/21. Also, can a card be shipped to another address? I would like to start using it while I’m here in Germany till January 1st. Also, I’m assuming someone has a Reddit link. If anyone who has gotten the venture x want to offer any feedback pros and cons, I would love to hear it. Thanks
What end date are you seeing? I assumed since it's a new card you could apply whenever. I was going to look at the Venture X after I finished the MSR on my SkyMiles Platinum.

$200.00 travel credit posted for the $250.00 United travel bank purchase, for those looking to use up their travel credits on biz or personal plat cards (you need to make sure that United is your preferred airline -- I did an online chat before I made the travel bank purchase to change from AA to United).

Can you let me know why you used the $250 instead of $200 or two $100 charges? Are those not going through anymore? I tried to search online but didn't find anything, but the $100s worked earlier this year.

I think it's pretty common to use up the calendar based credits before canceling. It's not a known claw back risk.

Did you take a retention offer on the first renewal? If so, you'll likely need to wait 13 months for another one. Hopefully you can get 55-60k for $4000 spend on the plat. There's also a 40k for $3000 spend offer. On the plat biz, a credit for the AF seems pretty common (no spend requirement).

mean, back in 97 they refused to give us the National Championship
That Orange Bowl vs. Tennessee where Nebraska earned its share of the National Championship was part of a trip that started my love of WDW. We went to Magic Kingdom 12/30 and Epcot for New Year’s Eve and it was so much fun (even though it was packed). Then we went to Miami and saw Nebraska dominate and still went to bed a little sad because it seemed all for naught. I’m glad they got their share and don’t begrudge UM (although we did have “temporary Washington State fans” t-shirts at the time.).

I'm going to go for the MDD on SW cards. I was just instantly approved for the SW Premier a few minutes ago.
I know it's "next day" for the 2nd card, but can I apply anytime tomorrow or do I need to wait a full 24 hours?
Thanks.

Anytime tomorrow is fine…earlier is probably better in case it’s not instant approval you would have to call to try and push it through
