Is there a way to check the date that a Chase card first became active? I applied for CSP around 10 days ago and was not immediately approved. Repeated phone attempts to have application pushed through were unsuccessful. The automated status line remained at 30 days as recently as ~3pm yesterday. My first communication from Chase was an email at 1:15am central this morning informing me that my paperless enrollment was confirmed. I'd like to attempt MDD for CSR, but I don't know if I should apply today or tomorrow.

Help! My beloved LL Bean suitcase bit the dust on the way back from Hawaii today. I don’t love the design of their replacement. Any suggestions for a good carryon suitcase? I’m very picky - I liked that the LL Bean was carryon sized but could be unzipped to increase capacity. I REALLY also liked that you could pack stuff in both sides of the suitcase when it’s open, as opposed to it being just one large section in the bottom and then the top just acts as a cover and zips closed (if that makes sense). Any suggestions on a good replacement that won’t break the bank? I don’t mind investing in a good bag, but don’t want to spend crazy money. ($200-250 tops??)

I hear Away is all the rage We have 3 of the hard shell carryons (plus 2 med and 3 large) and I really like them. They have a soft sided version also.

Yay! It made turning 13 even glorious especially since DS turned 13 right at the start of the pandemic so he missed out on quite a bit.

DD and I found ourselves in Chicago the summer after 9th grade, so I think she was the same age as your son. She loved it. We didn't do much shopping (she's not a shopper) but we went to the Bean, the big art museum and the science museum, the beaches, toured both UChi and Northwestern, and of course took the architectural river cruise (the highlight of our visit according to her).

Thanks! DH is not a city person so he is reluctantly going along and not looking forward to exploring. I don’t know that DS wants to go to college in the Midwest but it might be worth checking if they are convenient.

I received a soft side Away carry on bag with matching Everywhere bag as a gift. I absolutely love them! I was surprised over how much the suitcase holds. It checks all of your requirement boxes as well.

I vote Chicago. I like it much more than Dallas, and Nashville seems like a place for adults. Navy Pier, Museum of Science and Industry and the Shedd are all great things. I absolutely love the submarine tour at MSI. And good pizza. And hot dogs. I may have to stop while driving through later today for a dog.
No you can't get to the Centurion Lounge from SW. The Centurion Lounge is at Dallas-Fort Worth International (DFW) and SW only flies out of Love Field (DAL)

I would check out Bags, I have one of the mother load carry-ons and I love it. It seems to have all the features that you want and I've shocked myself a few times on how much I can get in it. Ebags used to have sales all the time but I'm not sure anymore. I also have an Away carry-on that I got during their big sale that I'll be using for the first time next week. Hoping it lives up to the hype!

I never boarded the GrAAvy train. What is the deal with Citi AA cards now? Fine to get a personal and a biz? I did get a biz about 2 years ago but DH never got either. Can you get the bonus again after 24 months? I need a new card ASAP and thinking this may be good. Was also thinking about the 80,000 TYP one but every time I look into thank you points they seem confusing. Unless there is a good Amex deal out there? I have none. Well the bonvoy biz only. I have some big upcoming spends. I’m trying to lay low with chase right now. DH just did the MDD CSP/CSR in may and I got he IHG not long before that.

Thanks! Just booked the Park Hyatt Chicago for 3 nights! DS is definitely not into shopping. He would gladly let me pick out all his clothes.

My DS clothes pretty much consist of shorts or athletic pants and a sports jersey. Maybe a tshirt. DH noticed that whatever Tshirt is on top gets worn, so he rotates them so DS doesn't wear the same one all the time. Shopping is a hard no for DS.

The architecture cruises are AMAZING, if you think he might like that. So fascinating.

Ugh just got the text for a Chef Mickey's ADR from TP and I literally still missed it. I was on my phone when the text came in! I really shouldn't complain since I have a 9:20 ADR that morning but wanted something a little earlier. Sigh...to activate another search stat!

I need better times for a couple ADRs and missed one for Beaches and Cream. I did get one for Sanaa. We had 8:40 pm now have 6:30. Still need Beaches and Homecomin.

DH’s account won’t have a ticket since the ticket is linked to the name under your account.
I think it’d be easier to just go with having you, DH and, if he has a device, DS log into your account. And all try from the same account.
When we went in April I had 5 people logged into my account trying for ROR. We tried 3 days and got BGs each time, all lower than 10.

A lake cruise is fun. They have brunch/lunch/dinner cruises. Navy Pier has fireworks on Wednesdays and Saturdays I believe and there are fireworks dinner cruises as well those nights.
Also if you have time and a car, Frank Lloyd Wright's home and studio are in Oak Park, directly west of downtown. You can also drive around Oak Park a bit and see other Wright homes as well.

So far I have 3 nights in bar harbor to visit Acadia national park. This is just at a little motel, booked through the UR portal. It claims it just bought by new owners and the rooms have all new interiors since April. Not fancy, but clean, walking distance to bar harbor and a mile from the 3 to Acadia. then 3 nights at the Sebasco harbor resort which looks awfully nice. Trying to hunt down 2 nights in Boothbay harbor and a reservation for the cabbage island lobster bake.

A different trip than Disney, but hopefully fun. I rescheduled Disney to spring break in hopes things will really be normal by then. Bonus of far better weather than august.

If anyone has suggestions for Acadia or bar harbor, I’d love them.

Sidestreet Cafe..... Bar Harbor- don't miss this place! Go early when they open, or order takeout (and wait for it) we ate here 3x on our 4 night trip! Some of us are GF in my fam, the GF choices are great, the lobster melt,lobster rolls ,and lobster bisque were WONDERFUL.This place is really popular,for good reason.
Peekytoe Provisions, we did takeout here, a different type of yummy! Fresh Crab rolls and seaweed salad (not the Japanese style, more of a local flavor)
Mt. Desert Island Ice Cream.... Just....WOW. I mean it, Don't miss trying this! Twice on our last visit....
We stayed at Holiday Inn Regency (loved it) and hiked daily. Our favorite hike was this one we found on alltrails( https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/maine/ocean-path-and-gorham-mountain-loop-trail) the walk along the shore path was astounding,we actually did that part again a second day, it's never the same twice! Cadillac Cliff ridges is so cool and interesting along that hike (see the directions noted there)
Thunder Hole was interesting, but not when we thought it would be. Supposedly timing it around high tide... the first visit there was nowhere close to high tide, it made lots of thunderous sound. 2nd time, right near high tide, lots of HUGE waves and interest, but no loud thunder sounds. My advice is visit there whenever you are there.
Jordan Pond trail was pretty but very very busy. Pondhouse closed, too crowded around there IMHO.
Just walking along that beautiful shore path, so many places to stop and enjoy the beauty....simply awesome.

Has anyone done the one day memory maker? Can you buy the day of and still get all the pictures for that day? I've asked this question a couple of times in the memory maker thread and no one ever answers lol. I see that the multi-day memory maker requires you to wait a couple of days before it can be activated.

Barclays Biz card is at 65k miles for 1000 spend with another 10k miles if you add an e’ee card and have one purchase. Not quick though. Both DH and I waited about a week for approval and then another week for the card to show up.

Is the Barclays Biz the one that was hard to get. Like it needed documents sent in? Or am I thinking of a different card?

Well DD20 went for the CSP that said on her chase account she had preapproval for and was denied. The reasons they gave were



She used $15k for income which I thought might be too low but since her account said preapproval I thought she would get it. I’m not really sure what to make of the other reasons. She has had her Discover card almost 3 years and a CFU for at least 2 plus she is an AU on my oldest card plus 2 others. I think I’ll have her try for a SW instead. She was really bummed to get the denial but it may be karma because she didn’t even use my link! We had talked about it and she just went through her account link where the card was suggested for her. I don’t understand Chase.

I have a question about ds' new CSP account....so he's had the CiP (pc'd to CiC) and that's it. He got instant approval for CSP, but it's not showing on his acct. (it's a business page I guess) Will he have to wait to get it in mail and add it to his account? I know he won't want to keep it separate. (usually cc shows up pretty fast after an app)

I'm replying to my own question,I don't think I saw an answer and I'm getting really curious about this now.... anyone? I can still just see his biz acct page, with the CiC, even tho the app was instant approval....

I think he'll have to create a personal account and then have them merged together.
