I'm looking at flights ORD-LHR next March. Our dates aren't open yet but I'm seeing an early flight which is consistently less miles than the overnight (preferred) flights. It arrives LHR at 10:30 pm. Assuming this would get us to a hotel well after midnight. Anyone frequenting LHR know what it's like there late night? Taxis available?
Also, I know there is currently a quarantine restriction in place. Are people booking assuming restrictions will be lifted but plan to cancel if they are not?
If you can take the express train from LHR to Paddington, that's what I'd recommend. I'm not sure if you'd have time as the last train departs at 11:25pm. I'd have to guess that unless you arrive a half hour or so early, you'd miss the last train. If you are traveling business class you will get tickets to use the 'express' customs line, which can save a lot of time.

Taxis are plentiful, but you might want to look at booking a car in advance so they are waiting for you after exiting arrivals with your luggage.

Ds and I are taking a daytime flight to London next year. I am excited for it since the overnight flight is too short for me to get a good night sleep. We will arrive at our hotel after 10:00pm, relax for a while and go to sleep.

I do not plan on cancelling our trip next year (March, 2022) unless the sky falls! Seriously. Our ultimate destinations are Australia and NZ and if they aren't allowing foreigners at that time, we will spend 10 or 12 days touring London and Scotland and come home.

Did you see that Europe is opening up to fully vaccinated American's? They haven't released specifics but should be in place by this summer.

How are people planning to prove they are vaccinated? I expect even more travel (keeping it on topic) things opening up to those fully vaccinated but I am not sure how to prove you are vaccinated.. I have my CDC vaccine card but really anyone could forge something like that. I guess my state's department of health has a record but haven't been able to figure that out. Am I the only one thinking about that?

I'm not really sure, let's just hope too many dumb people don't try to forge the cards and ruin it for everyone.

Stupid question. Are the Chase Freedom cards truly cash back cards, or do they earn UR's?

I'm curious too. I doubt this would happen but I'd love to take DD to London for a long weekend before she starts college.

It'll be up to each place to decide what proof they'll accept. Hawaii will accept vaccination soon, but only for those vaccinated in Hawaii because they have access to those records. They're still working on how to verify everyone else. For Iceland, I see they're accepting CDC cards. But I totally agree that's easily faked. They didn't even fill out my info when I got mine, just gave me the stamped card.

Plus you can buy blanks on eBay.

IATA is working on one and I'd hope that could be universally accepted. It'll be a matter of how the info is gathered though.

Mom and I decided last night they should issue those that got their shots a new card that can't be duplicated. Which I was silly enough yo think it would be watermarked from the start.

I think this could be a good alternative. I prefer the overnight flight, depart 8pm, arrive 840 am. If I don't have the miles, or no seats in Biz, I will consider the late night arrival arranging a car. I'm pretty sure taking the train at near midnight is not in my comfort zone.

I got my vax at work and DH at Walgreens. Both have an app that shows your vax record. Although then I suppose you'd have to have ID to prove it's the same person?

I got my first at a kids' urgent care clinic and second I'm getting at Target tomorrow. I'm sure Target has a record but I think the kids' urgent care would be more of a pain in the butt if I needed proof.

Probably. But it also comes down to, are places ok with a million different apps showing it or do they want a handful? I got mine through the county, no idea if the website they use for the appt also shows I got it or just that I had 2 appt. Nevermind the walk up places that don't require appt.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for the recent discussion of booking Hawaii activities through the Chase portal. I had no idea this was a thing! I just poked around and came across an awesome waterfall excursion that my boys will love. Even though it got great reviews on TripAdvisor, I hadn’t come across it anywhere else. And of course paying for it when URs made it all the sweeter!

If you hold a CSR or CSP, they can be used as URs for travel and transfers to partners, otherwise I think it's cashback only.
Thanks, can they be transferred to my other cards UR pool?

And asking this one again, because I still haven't decided. I am willing to pay one AF on a UR card, is there any difference in redemption/transferring to partners/etc between a CIP and a CSP? Is one better than another for any reason?

Yes, transfer to any/all UR earning cards. Between us we have CSP, CFF, CFU, CIC, CIU, CIP. All transfer. I think only the earning categories are different for CIP and CSP. Redemption is same.

Yes you can transfer them to your other UR cards. I do this monthly combining all my and DHs URs on my CSR

I received an email from BofA that they're giving me an extra 1% until 6/30 on my cash rewards card, so 4% in my chosen category. I'm not sure if it's targeted, but you may want to check your email if you have this card.

Transferring and the portal is the same, but the PYB categories are different. If you plan to PYB, CSP would be easier with grocery and dining.
