Hyatt statement closed and officially Globalist as the final two night posted for spending 5000. I didn’t realize I’d get a FNC, but see for hitting 30 nights that is the reward. Now I have a FNC expiring in October this year. None of my trips planned for this year have a Hyatt nearby so there is little chance that I will be able to use this year. Anyone have luck getting them extended?

We've stayed at the Fairfield Anaheim before. Location is great. It's not fancy, but updated and comfortable enough. We've also stayed at the Best Western Park Place Inn, which is even closer. But it's a bit too motel-y for me, so I prefer the Fairfield.

If it weren't for my expiring FNCs, I'd be tempted to try the new JW Marriott. 😀 Walk would be a bit further though.
We stayed at Fairfield Inn Feb 2020, location was great. We also had the Marriott Brilliant credit to use so we ate at the little pizza place the had onsite. Was totally worth the 35k FNC.
We will be using our FNCs there as well. Glad to hear we won’t be disappointed!

Joined in the craziness and made Disneyland reservations when it opened up on Thursday. Totally unnecessary since my dates are all still available. At least I can say I was there. 😆

Made reservation for the Fairfield Anaheim, couple nights cash that will be mostly covered by the Bonvoy Brilliant credit, 2 nights with 35k FNCs. I see now that cash rates have gone up and points are now 40k (it was 30k and 35k when I reserved).
egories, so 15k instead of 20k. I feel like I should keep it just for that. Weird psychology.
I am so jealous. We have re-booked and re-booked but out of state so still can’t go.
Please let me know how you like the Fairfield Anaheim. I was originally booked there for April 2020 for our first ever Disneyland/California trip. Obviously that didn’t happen, so I’m thinking about trying for a redo this fall.
We booked there for June 2020, rebooked for October 2020, rebooked for June 2021. Looking like we will have to cancel that too. I used 3 FNC for it and I think all will expire before we get to use them. Also have 5 day DLR tix and 2 day Universal Hollywood tix.

The hotel gets paid by Hyatt for the FNC so don't feel too badly! Since they had a restaurant, did you consider dining there or having a room service dinner?

I wondered how it all works. Then started wondering how the cobrands get compensation from Chase. I guess I could find the answers if I looked.

We did plan on eating dinner there at least once, but the timing never worked out. We like to eat super early so we were out touring during those times.

i probably should feel bad about the Marriott too because after the fuss I made about breakfast we never did eat breakfast there. Lol. DH got coffee at the “Starbucks” every day. After they added the credit I got tea twice and then we ate a dinner there. Our total didn’t come to $100. And they gave us the original $10 plus the $100. So I think I ended up getting credit for some of the resort fees.

It might be possible to get it converted to 10k points, but I think you have to let it expire first.

This is an update of an old post, so some of the info is outdated. I think the 20k conversion mentioned is a category 1-7 cert.

If you are purchasing an economy ticket then the 35% back kicks in only on your chosen airline. If your ticket is for business or first then it doesn’t matter what airline you choose.

I’ve had some challenges when booking some hotels through the UR travel portal with points. Never had an issue when using Fine Resorts & Hotels booked through Amex.

Thanks. That's a good point. I think we get better treatment when we book through FHR than the hotels directly actually.

Wow-that is a huge difference! We’ve got the 180k United miles left over from last year’s trip, which we are unlikely to use for anything else, so I kind of feel like we are stuck with United. Or are you saying that I could use my United miles for that ANA looking? (I told you I’m a newbie at this part of it! 😀😀)

what im saying is dont get the United Card. Amex MRs transfer to ANA. get Amex MR cards instead of the United Card. u can book 1 ticket on UA and the rest with ANA...
Total cost:
120k UA
176K MR
Total: 296k
vs
360k UA.

Everyone still playing the AA sweepstakes? I try to remember everyday. Haven't gotten the 4000 miles yet, but several 40 and 400 ones. Started tracking it on my spreadsheet lol. I'm up to 1400 miles and DH 960.

I've been playing very early in the morning and have won nearly every time. Until this morning. Nothing in multiple tries. Blah. The streak may be over.

I’ve won 4000 twice; the only useless prize for me has been a discount on an alarm system. I already had an AA miles account, but there were no miles in it, so it looks like maybe at some point I’ll have to open an AA card to beef up the total number of miles to make them useful. Or, wait? Do URs transfer to AA?

Unfortunately, URs do not transfer to AA.

You can't transfer United miles to ANA, what you can do is transfer MR to the ANA frequent flyer program and use those miles to book tickets on United.

I noticed on the UR portal that there are gift cards that are 10% off. Doesn’t that work out to be a better deal than PYB for 1.25%? Or am I missing something?
