Everyone still playing the AA sweepstakes? I try to remember everyday. Haven't gotten the 4000 miles yet, but several 40 and 400 ones. Started tracking it on my spreadsheet lol. I'm up to 1400 miles and DH 960.

I've been trying to play daily. I've gotten 40 miles twice, a seat upgrade, and a few random offers. I've found it doesn't matter where I'm clicking as I've clicked on the top and it's given me a destination on the bottom. Today nothing and I had 5 spins. Grrrr! Maybe I have too many AA miles, LOL.

You’re not mathing right.
$100 gc via portal = 9k URs
$100 gc at grocery store = 8k URs at 1.25pyb
Thank you! I had a feeling I wasn’t thinking about it correctly. I am going to transfer my P2 URs that he has left before I PC his card. My CSP still has a few months until I hit one year so going to buy some more DGC at grocery store.

My p2 and I have been playing every day. He won 400 once but the most I won has been 40 but most of the time it is nothing. 40 is still better than nothing at all plus it pushes the expiration of my miles out further so I like that too.

My theory is that Monday’s are the worst time to spin the globe for the AA game because they refresh your ability to earn spins on those extra (social media and those other 3 ) links. So on Mondays people are spinning more times. More spins = less chance to win something per spin. I’ve won 400 and 40 miles several times plus plenty of FTD and Hertz discounts. Maybe middle of the night and end of the week would be better?

Hello! I would love some advice. I started following this thread in 2019 and dipped my toe in it. Then we bought a house, and then COVID so I haven’t gotten back into it.

United card 4/19 (no fee one)

We’ve gotten nothing since.

1. Spending variable some months are higher. Weput everything we can on our credit cards. We are finishing our basement and have rental property to care for so it fluctuates. 1,000-1500 normal then the other stuff.

2. we carry no balances on our 4 we have. 2 CSR 1 sun trust, 1 bbt that I’ve had since like 2004. We don’t use that one.

3. we can fly out of IAD, BWI, regan, or RIC.

4. Yes, but their flights never worked except when we went to Mexico. We only like nonstop with 4 kids.

5. No

6. We have some untied points and CSR.

7. Well our goals are to help fund our vacations. Goals: Alaska, more international place without kids, all inclusives for the kids, universal trip.

8. Right now we have a seaworld trip for just our daughter planned. Have played for flights and hotel on points already. Tickets were bought already. Mostly need Uber funds for this one.

December trip to somewhere not sure as we were planning Mexico again but testing restrictions have given us pause.

9. household includes 6 ppl (3,7,10,12) we don’t take everyone all the time though. We try to travel once a year just us adults and the little one.

I do have a business I pay taxes on currently. A small one. Just no business license.
Thanks for any help you can give. I really appreciated the help last time.

Idk if this means anything, but I got the 4,000 miles. I’ve spun 28 times, and every single other spin was “charting off course”/no prize at all. My DH (who I spin for on the same device) received a million little prizes, most of them were “10% off an outside service you’ll never use,” but he did get 400 miles and 40 miles once.
Maybe the more “no prizes” you win, the closer you are to 4,000 🤷‍♀️

Maybe I'll just bank them all and do them later in the week at night, LOL.

Thanks so much for checking! I’ve been checking pretty obsessively and almost fell for that too.

After stalkingly refreshing Disney’s availability, I was finally able to get us one reservation at POP for all three nights so we’re paying less and don’t have to move.

I appreciate the advice/help/giving me the space to feel sorry for myself!
Awesome! I'm glad you found what you were looking for!

FYI, I still had a Priceline tab open with your dates, and it looks like Pop is now showing up for $160/nt. The incorrect "free parking" is a tip off for Pop.

ETA: I found a 15% off Express deal code that @Rich M posted on the Priceline deals thread: 7FB52F37F3

Takes the total after taxes and fees down to $511.32

I can see your point. I might skip today.

I think the easiest for you right now would be an Ink Business Card from Chase. There's the Preferred, Cash, and Unlimited, all with good bonuses right now. URs can be used to buy Universal tickets, could transfer to Hyatt for their all inclusive properties (although they are not quite as good of a deal on points with more than 2 people in a room). Or if you get more specific with what airlines you would use to fly to Alaska and/or international destinations an AmEx MR earning card or specific airline card could make sense. You don't need a business license to apply for a business card. Just use your first and last name as the business if you do.

It might be possible to get it converted to 10k points, but I think you have to let it expire first.

This is an update of an old post, so some of the info is outdated. I think the 20k conversion mentioned is a category 1-7 cert.

Thanks for this. I have one expiring in August and I don't know if I'll get to use it. I was thinking of using it on Friday for a Hyatt Place by the airport so we don't have to get up so early, but it seems like such a waste for a $115 nightly rate.

I have a Tru Hilton Stay latet this month, the total comes to $201, but I also have an Amex offer $250/$50... Anyone know if I can buy a Hilton GC for $250 at any Tru? If so, then can the balance be used at any Hilton property? specifically thinking at Hawaii GW

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I got the AMEX off of buy $300 in AMEX gift cards, get $20 statement credit.

What is the best use of the AMEX gift cards?

I don’t even click the globe anymore. I just click the link that says click here if you can’t see the globe. I don’t think where you click matters, just what is in the algorithm when you click determines the prize.

I can see your point. I might skip today.

I read this on Reddit. Load up your potential spins and spin later in the week for better chances. Who knows. We (spinning for 3 players) got 4000 twice, a few 40s, 1 club pass, a few % off something I will not use, and a whole lot of nothings!

So I paid extra for the H&R Block expert to review my return (I did it online) and my refund is up $4,500 from what I calculated. I seriously hate K-1s because tax software really isn't easy to use if you have one. I think I need to have them review last year's return because I may have screwed that one up too.

I struggle with deciding to use FNC too, whether it be Hyatt/Marriott/Hilton, when it seems like the redemption value is disappointing. Recently, I booked a night at a Cat 3 Marriott and instead of using a 35K FNC that will expire in August, I decided to book with points (20K) because I couldn't convince myself that using the FNC made more sense. Of course, I may end up changing my mind too lol.
