J is business class, where you're going to find the lie flat seats. Y is economy or main cabin class.I’m getting better at earning points, but I’m still pretty much a newbie at earning points so I don’t even know the difference between J and Y. When I originally booked our flights for July 2020, I got round-trip seats for three of us for 60 K United miles each. I’m hoping to find something similar to that for our trip July 2022. Since flights aren’t open that far out yet, I haven’t been able to look at prices or points yet.
Just wondering if anyone has been able to take advantage of the group order function for UBER eats with Amex credits for two people. DH has $15 and I have $25 now each month, and it would be really nice to get rid of them in one fell swoop. I tried to play around with the group order function on UBER eats, but I couldn't figure out whether it would take the UBER eats credits automatically from both accounts?
I find the food credits by far the hardest to use. I rarely use my Amex golf $10 credit for door dash, shake shack, etc.
Anyone have any creative use for the Dell $100 each 6 months? I've bought so many computers over the past few years with the Amex Business Plat there is no room for any more, and it seems as if they have gotten rid of a lot of their "accessories."
I still can't believe I was able to get the 100k offer w/10x groceries and gas for the Personal Plat without a popup, but I confirmed the offer after the card arrived by asking how long I have to meet minimum spend. Good thing I was on chat or I would have laughed when they said October 1! I met it about 4 hours later when I charged part of my estimated taxes! The MRs pretty much appeared right away. I also had the 20k MR offer for pay over time so now I'm flush again![]()

I should wait til tommorow morning to start my sapphire mdd right?
It’s been over a year since I got a card and I’m getting an itchy finger.
CongratsI’ve had the CSR since 2016, as does DH. With the new CSP 80,000 UR offer, I:
- made sure I’d utilized the travel credit
- transferred my URs to DH’s account
- called and PC’ed my CSR to a CFU
- lowered the credit limit from $42k to $6k
- waited 4-5 days and applied for CSP
- instant approval, 20k credit line
- secure messaged to have card
Ah, thanks. I never though too xbox gifts cards--great idea. I have Microsoft 360 so that might pay for that monthly. thanks also for the idea to combine all the cards on one account. I wonder if the new family UBER accounts would pool the Amex credit. May try that if the group order doesn't work.Never tried the group order, I just have all my and DH's plats on one Uber account. Then all the credits are in one pool. If you want to do that, you would need to delete the card and then relink under the other account. But it wouldn't work for this month's credit since it's already been applied.
For Dell, I mostly buy Xbox gift cards and store them in my Microsoft account (up to $1000). Eventually, I'll buy something big, just not sure what yet lol.
You can do the 1st today. It's the 2nd that's advised not to do on the weekend. Though I think recon is open on the weekend and it's verification that's not. Either way if it goes pending today and you cant get it approved just call again tomorrow and then app on Tuesday. If you get instant approval today then you can app tomorrow.
CongratsThanks! I went for it, instant approval.
On to the CSR tomorrow!
Please let me know how you like the Fairfield Anaheim. I was originally booked there for April 2020 for our first ever Disneyland/California trip. Obviously that didn’t happen, so I’m thinking about trying for a redo this fall.Made reservation for the Fairfield Anaheim, couple nights cash that will be mostly covered by the Bonvoy Brilliant credit, 2 nights with 35k FNCs. I see now that cash rates have gone up and points are now 40k (it was 30k and 35k when I reserved).

Does anyone ever feel guilty for redeeming your points or FNCs? Lol. I don’t usually. Especially if it’s just a night or 2. I didn’t at the Marriott this week but for some reason felt bad at the Hyatt. We used 3 FNC at an Andaz. This was first time as globalist so we also got free valet and free breakfast and upgraded to suite. Had a little welcome gift of 2 little alcohol bottles and some chocolate. Also had a free welcome drink which we enjoyed in the lobby where live music was coming from restaurant. We had a great time but then I started feeling guilty that we enjoyed all that and they got $0 from us.
We stayed at Fairfield Inn Feb 2020, location was great. We also had the Marriott Brilliant credit to use so we ate at the little pizza place the had onsite. Was totally worth the 35k FNC.Please let me know how you like the Fairfield Anaheim. I was originally booked there for April 2020 for our first ever Disneyland/California trip. Wow-that is a huge difference! We’ve got the 180k United miles left over from last year’s trip, which we are unlikely to use for anything else, so I kind of feel like we are stuck with United. Or are you saying that I could use my United miles for that ANA looking? (I told you I’m a newbie at this part of it!J = business
Y = economy
Sample RT flight march 8th/15th 2022. NYC <--> Zurich | UA metal
United Y book direct = 60k
ANA Y partnering = 55k
United J book direct = 120K
ANA J partner booking = 88k
so yeah, it makes a pretty big difference...
