rephrasing this question LOL. With my cash advance limit lowered to $100, any charges over that would be denied, if Chase deemed them to be a cash advance, correct?
It should work that way. When I was making car loan payments through Plastiq, the Chase cc I was using had CA lowered to $100, so if I tried any payment higher than that it was rejected by Chase.

Would love suggestions on must do’s! We aren’t really snorkelers.

I met the SUB on my gold (pink) AmEx on Tuesday, yet the MRs aren't showing yet. Anything that I should be worried about (since I held this card back in 2010, but I did not get the pop-up warning me that I wouldn't get the points if I applied)? Have SUBs been taking longer to post lately?

DH’s Biz Plat took 3 days. Other have had them take a couple of weeks recently.

That's awesome! Sounds like a great plan. And good to have a variety of points that you can pull it off for an impromptu trip :D Have a great time

Is 90k MR's a good offer for the Amex Biz Gold? I see it listed in my Amex offers. 70k is the standard offer, correct? I have had other Amex biz cards but never had a MR earning card. Thinking about it dipping my toes in. We should be able to meet the $10k msr since we have a $3500 expense coming up, where we normally would not be able to meet that.

We went to Oahu in 2015 for our anniversary, and my favorite things we did were the pillbox hike to watch the sunrise, Waimea Bay to jump off the "cliff", swimming in Waimea Falls nearby, and visiting the North Shore. We also visited Pearl Harbor which was an incredible experience.

Fun story from our pillbox hike - it was our first morning there (worked out since we were up super early anyway as we are from the East Coast), and when we got to the top, there was a group of acapella singers there (for a competition). A guy had a ukulele out and they were singing "Hawai'i Aloha" - as the sun was rising over the Pacific. To say it was a magical start to our trip is a huge understatement!

We usually go to the North Shore once every trip. Stop at the Dole Plantation for some dole whip, eat at a shrimp truck, see sea turtles on Laniakea Beach, and have some shaved ice at Matsumoto's. Macky's was our favorite shrimp truck, but it's since closed. According to Yelp, Jenny's might be the same recipe.

Kailua Beach is also really nice. While at HHV, have some Lappert's ice cream. If you don't want a car the whole time (parking is expensive), the rental companies at Discovery Bay Center across the street from HHV is pretty convenient.

I realize this is old news, but one of my Motley Fool URs just went to pending for next statement. I purchased on 1/29 and did it 3 times. Only the first one got an email from Chase, it showed up in store visits with the total. The other 2 just showed the visit but didn't have the total. So I'll cancel the other 2 accounts. I am pleasantly surprised, I had given up on getting the 7500UR since others had theirs post more quickly.

In other good news I got a 30K MR retention for DH's personal Gold. His anniversary isn't until April but I thought I'd try. Did it over chat. They sent me to retention. She went over all the benefits one by one. I said I'd think about it and then she came back with 30K no spend. Since that more than covers the annual fee I took it. My Golds have always gotten the highest referral, 30K for most of the past 6 months. So between that and the credits I'm happy to keep it.

Amex Biz Platinum help please: On my BBC offers I have the Platinum Business offer for 100K MRs after spending $15k in 3 months. Easy peasy (taxes). When I click learn more, click Add Platinum, and click on Offer Terms, I don't see "Welcome offer not available..." Does that mean it doesn't have lifetime language? Sorry, I'm sure this is a novice question but I'm really not sure what card to get next.

I think that's pretty good. I am considering doing the 70K one from a cross support 30K. Maybe others will chime in since it's your first MR card. The benefits for me aren't useful, which is why I haven't got it yet. So I'll deduct the entire AF from my calculations to determine if it makes sense. Even at 1ccp 90k would be a $600 bonus, so it could make sense for you.

I'm not sure, but I think so. Seems like I've read quite a few people on Reddit that had that same problem. I know what you mean about what card to get next, I'm getting low on options as well. What about that Capital One Spark that doesn't report to personal credit report anymore? I don't even know what the SUB is right now, but maybe that could be an option.

For those headed to HHV:
Names are escaping me right now and my notes are not handy, but next to HHV is a military hotel. Across the street from that is a parking garage. That garage is very walkable to HHV and if you are military related there are special rates. HHV parking is $$$. I absolutely LOVED our time at HHV and wouldn't hesitate to go back. If you want these details let me know and I'll find them :)

Anyone been to Panama City Beach, FL? We have kind of abandoned our Wilmington, NC trip for now... rentals are insanely priced. We're now thinking of heading to PCB/Destin area in mid May. Our goals: 1) beat summer tourism season/crowds, 2) relax on the beach and do outdoor activities. We've found some pretty affordable rentals in the area that accept dogs also, so we wouldn't have to leave them behind. Interested to hear anyone's opinions of the area. I've heard from spring breakers before that they loved it (pre-covid), but not really the opinion I'm looking for, lol.

I'm from the Destin area, and still think it's one of the most beautiful beaches ever! We love the 30A area, you can do bike riding, paddle boarding, arrange for a bonfire on the beach (you can "rent" the service where they'll come set it up/take it down for you).... mid-May would be a perfect time since it's before the busy summer season starts and the weather is typically beautiful. So many places have outdoor seating at the restaurants. Baytowne Wharf (on the bay side) has a lot of activities for the kiddos as well.

ETA: I know you asked specifically about PCB, which has it's fair share of outdoor touristy activities also :) Our preference just has always been Destin/Sandestin/30A.

Looking at Sapphire benefits this morning. Has anyone used Sapphire Dining? It's powered by Tock and you sign in through your Sapphire account.

It takes you to the option to make a reservation or to do pickup. Menu options show points and dollars. It appears as if you can use UR points to pay, but since I didn't create an account with Tock (not ready for that) I couldn't tell. It's also giving 10x points until June, which is what made it look interesting to me - order pickup from a better restaurant and get 10x UR's.

The restaurants are country wide and include some that I would use in the greater Washington, DC area, so I would like to know more.
We did a special prix fixe menu for New Years Day. The menu looked interesting so I did 4 people, DH/DS/I shared 3 meals, grandma and niece shared one (5 course meals). Paid with points, pickup worked fine, no issues. Was a special splurge. Niece was excited to eat bougie food. 😆
