Anyone know if and when business cards will allow "support " again? DD28 is looking for a new card because unfortunately she can meet spend easily on either the CIU or CIC. She might even be able to meet CIP spend with a bit of finagling. It seems a shame to waste it on a Sapphire right now.

I'll get the $300 credit pretty quick because I can use that on grocery and dining now?
I used my $300 at the grocery store last month, and it got 3x for groceries. (And gas is the other credit eligible category, not dining.) The $300 was credited within a day, and the purchase also counted for PYB. This is way better than when I have used it for travel in the past, because Chase did not give 3x on the $300 for travel. Plus if there was a refund (like fees on a canceled SW ticket) then I got negative 3x from that which was super lame, so I love this grocery category.

DH called hyatt to find out how the double nights were being credited because we only got one night. Apparently, they will all post together after the promotion is finished.
Good to know, thanks!

ETA: Good news! Per OMAAT and FM the bonus nights will post earlier! Stays by Jan 4 post this week, and then every two weeks going forward.

Unfortunately no idea...you can check old emails to see if Chase sent any links

The suite night upgrades are a great perk, but be aware that there is a list of excluded properties, one of which is the PH Sydney, which I will be staying at in March, 2022. Full list of excluded properties:

Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa, Park Hyatt Sydney, Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills, Hyatt Regency Kyoto, Hyatt Regency Wichita, Hyatt Paris Madeleine, Hyatt Herald Square New York, Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa, Hyatt City of Dreams Manila, Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami, Spirit Ridge at NK’MIP Resort, Hyatt Rosemont, Hyatt Regency Suites Atlanta Northwest, Hyatt Regency Lisle near Naperville, Hyatt Regency John Wayne Airport Newport Beach, Thompson Seattle, Chicago Athletic Association, The Talbott, Hotel Revival Baltimore, Hotel Avatar, Hotel del Sol, Waterfront Hotel, Park South, The Laurel Inn, Hotel Kabuki, 50 Bowery, Alila Manggis, Studios at Alila Sminyak, Alila Villas Uluwatu, Ventana Campground, or Destination Residences or Hyatt Place hotels or resorts.

I didn't end up doing a mattress run, though I still have time if I change my mind. The three biggest factors that made me cancel the booking that I had were:
  1. the PH Vienna didn't have any base rooms for points next December (I did not want to use 40,000 points for a suite and the cash rate is way more than I want to spend)
  2. the PH Sydney being excluded from the suite night upgrades
  3. I have Platinum with Marriott and Diamond with Hilton, both of provide me with free breakfast and will provide me with a suite upgrade (if available when I check-in)
Thanks for that. That is an eclectic mix of excluded properties, I wouldn't have thought I'd want to spend a week at the HR in Wichita or the one at John Wayne Airport. lol
I also have Marriott Platinum and Hilton Diamond, and I do like being able to choose the property that fits with my parameters best. Sometimes it's location, sometimes it's the size of the beds, or whether or not there is a lounge (not very helpful these days though), etc.

I thought about it too, but ultimately decided that I didn’t want to spend either money or points for something that may or may not happen in the future. I did switch over a stay in February so I’ll be able to get to 30 organically with the promos. As much as I would have loved to get the guaranteed suite upgrades for 60 nights I couldn’t justify it. BUT even with that being said I still may book a trip in the double days period, but not just a mattress run. 🤣
The first set of two guaranteed suite upgrades hit at the 50 night milestone, in case that makes a difference to you. The second set of two guaranteed suite upgrades is at 60 nights, and those seem easier to reach organically after I hit 50 (6 will be from the $15K spend after card anniversary mid-year for the next Cat1-4 FNC). I've rescheduled my canceled Grand Hyatt Kauai trip and I would love to be in a suite there!

Good to know, thanks!

No surprise that the Hyatt rep had no idea! Lol

Well. Last night (11pm PST), I applied for the CSR. Got the “Need to review message”. When I called the status line it said I have 2 applications in the last 30 days, with the first one being received on 1/5 (CSR) and should hear back within 2 weeks, and the second being received 1/4 and approved (CSP). Not sure where to go from here. Do I call recon now? Or wait?

So when does the $300 on griceries go away? I might consider the MDD for DD if it's around for another couple months.

Were you trying for the MDD?

For the MDD to work you need to call today and try to get it approved

So the general advice is to call Reconsideration and get the 2nd card approved. This information should be detailed in the MDD comment on DISchurners too if you hadn't been reading/using that as a guide for this. (Just pointing this out for others considering a MDD, lol)

That said, there are DPs that you also could just let it go and it might approve on its own within a few days and be fine. I personally wouldn't chance that - I'd take matters into my own hands and call recon.

Thanks all! Yes, I'm attempting a MDD. I'll call recon soon. I did read through the guides on DISchurners, but the language in the auto prompt which mixed up the order of the card applications threw me and I figured it was worth checking. Thank you!

ETA: SUCCESS! I called recon and had to answer the following questions: 1) Mortgage or Rent and what amount is the payment? 2) Confirm annual income and whether or not it's taxable. After that I was informed that I had too much credit extended by Chase and had to shuffle credit around. This took a while to get the right combination of cards/amounts. Weirdly, it wouldn't let her move $5k from my $15k CL CFF, but would from my $10k CL CFU. Go figure. In any case, we finally got it right and I can report a successful MDD!

Congrats party:

Big time Congrats @PaintsWithAllTheColors - hopefully your heartbeat returned to its normal pace now! 🤣 🤣

Recon always gets me on edge, hah!

Thanks! Couldn't have made it through without everyone's help for sure :thanks: It's been a credit card filled morning! Soon after I got approved my mom called and asked what card she should use to pay her cell phone bill. After going over her options, she's decided to apply for the CFF (for which I was more than happy to send her my link :rolleyes1), so there's another celebration for the day.
