Grrrr...my last day of the month PayPal spend didn’t work out to get the bonus category points in the Freedom. It sat pending 12/31 until this morning and then went through posting 1/1. I even screenshot it to show that I had made the purchase on 12/31. Any chance a call or SM would get me those bonus points or just let it go since I did do it on the last day?
Did you check your Ultimate Rewards dashboard to see that you didn’t get the bonus points? I thought it went by transaction date, not posted date

Check your Amex Platinum offers:) I got $50 off $50 at BestBuy.com 2x and $50 off $50 at Home Depot.com 2x. Also got Home Chef.
Nice!! I checked my other cards just in case, but looks like Amex is just trying to retain Platinum card holders right now.

On my way to get my other eye done this morning.
On my Amex Plat, I also have $49.95 off Scribd which seems similar to Audible and which will cover 5 months of cancel anytime subscription. Also $50 off $250 instacart which not great but not hard to reach. There's also $50 off $150 Container Store - unfortunately spent more than that a few weeks ago to finish up some closets.

As for travel 2020, we canceled 4 Disney trips plus an undefined 2-week domestic trip in the summer. We just came back from 5 days camping at Fort Wilderness, no parks. NYE is usually such a great time there but it was so weird with no party, no DJ, no fireworks. We love to visit the resorts and bar hop but most of them are so quiet with eating places and stores closed that we actually commented that we missed people o_O.

Yes, that’s when I realized it didn’t credit the points. It now says transaction date 1/1 and posted date 1/4, so the transaction date changed to1/1. But I have a receipt from the purchase that says 12/31. PayPal now also made the transaction 1/1 as well.

I didn’t get the scribd offer but wish I did. I’ve had a subscription for a while now. What I like about it is you can get sheet music on it, which is great for musicians. I don’t know of any other services that have that. I have two kids using it for music, one for guitar and one for piano.

Similar problem here.....except using the Discover $10 off $50 offer - placed order on 12/30 - but didn't ship until 1/2 which is the posted date on Discover, so not expecting to get the credit. Based on some other posts I have seen online, not sure it is worth the time or stress of the phone call.

Also of note: There are a ton of new Amex Offers (AOs) today, especially on the Business side apparently!

Any idea what? I looked at both my cards, one much older than the couple month old Hilton, and neither had anything exciting at all. I was hoping for another Lowes or Staples. I'd just looked at the offers yesterday too, so I know not many were added

Our Container Store (five minutes from my house) is opening soon. If I take DD there, I'll be in trouble. I swear the kid has the messiest room but she's always buying stuff to organize her life. She started crocheting and I think the pile of yarn by her desk may reach the ceiling soon.

It seems all of the offers are on Platinum cards (both personal and business). With the exception of a spend offer on BBP which seems to be $500 get $25 back up to 10 times or something like that.

DS got a $100 BB gift card for Christmas. Tempted to let him have one BB credit and use the other one to buy him a $50 BB gift card. Then he could get airpod pros for $30.

Not sure what to do with my HD offers. Wish I had waiting on my google nest hub because I could have gotten it for $29.

I would like to apply for the Amex Blue Business Plus. Is the 10,000Mr using support link the best? I am in no hurry, but I would like a new SUB.( Really want a CIU but don’t think I can handle such a high SUB in 3 months)

I also never understand the Amex limits with charge/ credit cards.
I have
Marriott business
Hilton personal
Gold
Platnium(not business)
The 10K MR is pretty standard, and anything higher is very rare. BBP is a great card to have. DH has both BBP and Blue Business Cash, and while they both earn 2x (BBP 2xMR, BBC 2% cash back), I find the BBP has many more Am Ex Offers and better offers than the BBC. His BBP has 97 current offers whereas his BBC has 28! The way BBC's cash back works is that it posts as a statement credit toward your following billing cycle.

You are allowed four credit cards and 10 charge cards with Am Ex these days; this is a limit applied to personal and business cards combined. Any card that shows you have available credit limit (look at the upper right corner where your total balance is displayed when you login) is a credit card. The charge cards have no preset spending limits.

This happened to me once with my Freedom. The charge pended a long time and then posted after the quarter ended. I called Chase and the rep awarded the points. You could try SM since you have the screenshot. It's worth a try. :)

I forget, for Chase Biz cards, if we got the "we need to review" message, then an email with "We'll let you know our decision by U.S. mail. This could take up to 30 days.", is that a denial? :sad1:

ETA: And the Chase line says there are no applications on file within the last 30 days. However, we got the Chase credit journey notification that an inquiry was made, so I know the app went through.

Alright - step one of my MDD has been completed, with an instant approval on my CSP! I have two questions:
1) Wondering if I should immediately call to lower my CL? Last week I lowered CLs on two separate cards (CFU - lowered by ~$12k, and CFF - lowered by $7k). My CSP was approved for $17.5k, so I'm worried I might not have enough credit for my CSR tomorrow.
2) Any time of day better or worse for my CSR attempt? I've read that it might be worth doing it late at night, after the midnight EST cutoff. Would 10pm PST be a good idea?

My Plats are all too new to get any offers, but I am liking the BBP spend $500 get $25 back. That will be a moneymaker. For a no AF card, it sure does get some good offers. I see I've saved $170, add that to the $150 I got for retention bonus and that's a pretty good deal.

Did you get the denial reason? Sometimes it's just verification. You can call or wait for the letter.
I'll probably just wait for the letter

Are you adding each other as Authorized users?
What about a Chase Freedom, we always use the rotating category 5% bonus.
He is an authorized user on my oldest two cards (from 2005 and 2006), but those are the only cards either of us is an AU on.

When did he apply and what was the denial reason?
Just yesterday. I think I will wait on the letter for the denial reason. He gets stressed out when he has to call.

I second (and third) the request for “What was the denial reason?” You should get a letter on that or it could be posted to your account.
I will post the denial reason as soon as I get that letter. There is nothing on his account so far.

I applied at 1am eastern on a MDD back in Feb with no issues.

I'm not sure reducing your CL on the new card will help you any here. I don't think the systems update quickly enough to provide any real benefit.

It is not specifically a denial. Just pending - could go either way at this point. The Chase status line has been acting weird lately so it's a bummer to not know the status, BUT don't take it to mean anything bad.

Thank you, as always! We did get the "your application needs further review. If approved, you will receive your card in 7-10 days" message immediately after applying from logged in biz account, but then got the email about a decision by mail within 30 days after, so that made me nervous. We're trying to get the CIU since we have a huge $6200 charge to make, and could easily meet the higher SUB. We only hold one biz card - a CIP. Ugh, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

It is such magic when all of the school breaks line up- I think you might regret letting that pass by. Ugh, and Disney in the summer, with the heat and masks and an altered experience, could be really disappointing.

Our fam has been twice since the pandemic, and it’s a different experience, but it’s not a “full” experience. If you love, love the dining experiences, parades and fireworks, you’ll be disappointed. If you are okay with mini, impromptu parades, abridged dining options and no fireworks, I think you might find your family enjoys the pandemic version of Disney. We like that people aren’t on top of our group- the wait times have been good, and it’s just been a bit more relaxing.

As you look at flights, Southwest has been offering some good deals. If Frontier is in your neck of the woods, they are also offering status match, which could make those flights really inexpensive. https://www.flyfrontier.com/myfrontier/status-match/?mobile=true

Good luck- I’m sure you’ll make the right choice for your family.

I know for us to sync doesn't always happen. Michigan decided to have counties have similar calendars. I teach in one county, live in another. The road we live off of is seriously Oakland on one side (I teach in Oakland) and Wayne in the other (I live in Wayne). It makes more sense for my kids to be synced with my school then say Detroit which is in our county but 30 min away. I don't know why they can't all get more on the same page.

I guess for me, it's a hard pill to swallow $1500 in just park tickets! Ahhhh! I mean I guess I could start watching for GC offers for a chance to score the tickets cheaper. Then my kids like staying on property, so there's that expense, and they are used to doing the meals. I'll have to crunch numbers..... I like our more recent vacas where airfare was under $150/ea and everything was cheap or on points, LOL
