Since I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs before I can apply again, I sent a referral link for a CSP to DH. The reluctant P2 has turned a corner and has been asking me more about credit card stuff. Apparently someone on his trading board talked it up so now he's interested.

Any successful MDDs lately? Not sure if we should stop with CSP or go for it.

Well, Disney refunded my AP portion (faster than I expected TBH) but it went back to an Amex that has been closed.

I imagine they'll eventually send me a check.

Hard to figure out what I "should" have gotten because I originally went around October 10th or so on a 3 day PH, which cost me $372.95. Then while there I upgraded to the AP, which cost an additional $799.89 (so a total spent of $1172.84). I got approximately 5 months "use" out of the AP. The refund was about $750 so I suppose that's not bad, considering how badly they seem to have messed it up for some folks.

But man am I sad it's officially officially over now.

We paid with gift cards and received separate checks for each pass.

I was keeping an eye on the closed card (I left it on my Amex "profile" or whatever they call it). I think I'm lucky Amex lets me do that because I don't believe Chase does.

ETA: Later this afternoon I also received an email from "Disney Destinations"- but it's very generic. No dollar amount or "what card" listed on it.

I’ve got $5 in Staples Rewards that expires 1/31


I did a CSR/CSP MDD in October! Instant approvals for both, IIRC.

I usually order coffee pods (keurig) with my rewards from Staples. Delivery is free and usually comes the next day. There are a lot of flavors/brands on for 9.99 for 24 k cups, making it $4.99 for 24 or about 21 cents a cup.

In one sense, yes. But, if you are trying to book the hotels that are category 6, they've dropped them as far as they can to avoid dropping a category. It would be nice to get them at 35k, but I don't see this as being bonvoyed, unless the categories themselves were just raised.

Are you looking at the Kierland resorts? or the actual Westin in Phoenix?

This is the special 10% discount off of normal off-peak rates - it’s a great deal vs the 40k it should be. It’s how I got Swan for 144k with the 5th night free benefit.

It seems there’s a LOT of off peak nights out there right now at various Marriott properties and I guess this 10% deal applies to all of them. (Or so I’ve heard from some folks). Good time to book Marriotts for anybody with lots of points!

Reports in today's DD thread about Delta shutdowns. I think it's related to the people who were messing around with sharing Delta NLL Amex links. If you didn't do this you have probably have nothing to worry about.

Phoenix and summer always = off-peak

That is when they hibernate in Phoenix with the 110-120 degree temps.

My agency actually got in big trouble for holding a regional conference there in the middle of summer at a fancy resort despite it being dirt cheap and in per dime. It was just the perception.

After searching the Amex app and Amex online to find the streaming credit, I finally called and they said it ended last year.
Any other cards would work for SirusXM?
I have the 3 Chase Ink cards & CSP (plus basic cards)
DW has CSR, Delta Amex, Discover, etc.

I know you guys are probably all aware - but for anyone like me - who somehow missed this news......Disneygiftcard.com is being upgraded on Feb 3 and all existing gift card balances will NOT transfer to the new system.

Additionally - they are moving Disneygiftcard.com to the shared user login that can access multiple Disney platforms. Not happy with that for my gift card balances so prob will only use DisneyGift card.com for consolidation from now on...and then delete the cards from the site. Maybe I should have been doing that anyway.
