Does anyone have Verizon unlimited plan? I’m thinking about finally switching us to the unlimited plan, but would need to use a debit/checking account to take advantage of the $10 auto pay discount or if we don’t take the autopay discount our bill would go up $8.

We had the Verizon Unlimited plan for about a year, but recently switched to AT&T because they were offering a great deal. I slightly prefer Verizon’s quality, but the deal was too good to pass up. We may switch back once our phones are paid for. But Verizon Unlimited was awesome - with two teenage boys, going to Unlimited was the best decision we ever made! I believe when we signed up there were 3 tiers, and we did the middle tier.

If someone wants to try for a SW CP what’s the best strategy right now?
The goal= 125k

The current SW CCs are 40k unless you can get the 50k in-flight offer.

Easiest path Biz now with in-flight offer, after 30 days Or more, MDD personals you are at 150k

or MDD the personals or 1 BIz, 1 Personal With in-flight offer- 100k that leaves you with 25k. Current offer for 5x for grocery or Amazon up to $1.5k so if do Dec that gets you 4500. There’s a SW shopping portal bonus of 3500 when you spend $1k. That should post for 2021 so you have 8000- 17k more to go. MS $17k or look for another opportunities. Like sometimes there are nice bonuses for buying the WSJ or others for $1 in the shopping portal. Maybe they give people 25k again to get started and encourage travel?

Or wait and hope for better offers.

(I’m actually on a SW flight to MCO right now.)

I'm trying to update Dischurners. My IHG is showing offer no longer available, but when I generate a new link I get the exact same link. Is there a fix for this or do I just need to wait?

Thanks! We have the 16GB plan, which works when we aren't traveling but we have 2 trips these in the next 45 days so we need to switch to unlimited.

Make sure you check for promos. I think Verizon was offering some “extras” if you go to an Unlimited plan (like free HBO Max or something like that?? I can’t remember specifically.)

The discount is $10/line. We have 5 lines on our account so it's $50, making the Plat mobile credits more complicated to use.

Some Unlimited plans come with 6 months of Disney+, others include it with no time limit. We got the lowest unlimited plan when it included 1 year of Disney+. That's coming up soon, guess we'll have to pay for it now.

Have you been able to use the Plat credits?

Thanks! This is great info! I have been considering another amex biz card (or even a personal) but I already have the old SPG biz and the Hilton biz. What is the limit for Amex?

Four credit cards. You can tell if credit versus charge if they have a credit line. The SPG Biz and Hilton would be credit. Overall on charge it is ten now. The business/personal with Amex is not distinct like it is with Chase.

I use my Plat credits every month for Netflix. Other than that I am wasting them. I haven’t been motivated to get any other streaming services. I would cancel Netflix if it wasn’t already paid for with the credits. So it is staying until end of year.

New offers on Amex Gold and Plat personal cards via Resy.com.

https://resy.com/amex-offers?date=2020-11-10&seats=2
These are some enhancements to the already available public offers:
  • GOLD CARD: Added 20% back on Restaurants in the first 12 months (capped at $250 in stmt credits)
  • PLAT CARD: 10x MRs on Groceries/Gas during first 6 months (on up to $15k in purchases) PLUS 20% back on Restaurants in the first 12 months (capped at $300 in stmt credits)
These are both personal cards which will use a 5/24 slot but might be very attractive offers to some folks. Keep in mind the rules of Amex - keep spending, pay your annual fees, don't burn any bridges or you'll be me with a popup message preventing you from earning future bonuses.

There's also apparently going to be an enhanced offer on the BCE card as well.

More discussion here on r/churning:
The Plat is going to be a serious contender for using DH's last 5/24 spot until August. That 10x on grocery is insane. I have 2 months for the extra 3x MR from a referral on a Gold, but then I think I should go for this. I didn't see an end date, but going for this in Dec for a triple dip would be perfect. I'm excited.

GC works. But every single Verizon GC I have ever bought has come inactive. I then have to call and get a ticket submitted. I think many of the reps don't know how to get it fixed. I have to point them back to one of my old ticket numbers - do it like this please. It's pretty crazy. Next month is the last of the credits unless they extend it, so guess I don't have to worry about this anymore.

The 10x is crazy good! DH and I both have plats, so had me wishing I had a P3. 😆 That's a 225k MR SUB if you max it out!

I should be in bed, but I'm sitting here looking at the numbers :D My Disney+ is due the end of the month so I could even use $20 of the streaming credit, so I'm trying to figure out if I should even wait until the increased offer on the Gold is done. I'm definitely looking to max out that grocery, 225k MR would be amazing.

Just realized that my DL AP was purchased on the Amex Hilton Biz... which I just closed.

At such time as a refund is processed, how will that work? Would I even be able to see the transaction?

Agree, it's a horrible price. This is for main cabin from CA (Bay Area) to Minneapolis. I'm leaning towards using cash for the 3x on my CSR and PYB from groceries. I was hoping there's a partner redemption I've overlooked for 25k.
You almost never get good deals into or out of MSP from Delta. It's usually cheaper for me to fly from MKE or ORD to MSP for a flight wherever I want to go than it is to fly direct from MSP. Your best bet for a partner award would be Virgin Atlantic, but I have no idea what's available anymore.

I do, I switched to Verizon last year, and then changed my plan within unlimited tiers last month to get the free Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ bundle. I will not use a checking account for autopay, I use the cell phone insurance on the Freedom Flex. And I don't give my checking account information to anyone, too many problems with companies trying to charge me extra or after cancellation.

I got my flooring ordered yesterday using MRs for Home Depot gift cards. No offers, so 1cpp. I redeemed 300K and have about 50k left between DH and I. While not as exciting as a trip, it was pretty nice to order $3000 of flooring without paying anything. Everyone has their different strategies, but I am a much more opportunistic churner, in that for the most part I go for an offer when it's good, even if I'm not 100% sure how I'll use the points. I was hoping I'd be able to use MR for a trip to Europe for my family of 5, but knew that Home Depot gift cards were an option. While I now have a few cards with hefty annual fees I do try and keep those to a minimum if possible. I thought it would be fun to see how I got to 300k and how much I paid in fees.

DH and I have had the exact same cards

  • BBP: 15K SUB, 0AF
  • Biz Green 25K SUB, AF waived the first year
  • Personal Gold DH 50K SUB, $250 AF
  • Personal Gold me 35K, plus $200 statement credit, $250 AF
So 165MR from SUBs. Lots of cross support, and only one other support to a friend. Total AF $500, which were offset by $200 statement credit, and I split a support with a friend that also got me $187 that I used to offset the AF, so net AF paid is only $113. We both got our first MR earning card 11/19. Not to mention the GrubHub and airline credits, but I just consider those gravy. So $3000 of flooring for $113, not too bad. I love this hobby!

Another reason that Plat offer is looking so good...need to build that balance back up! :D
