Thank You! DH is going to relay the information to his co-worker.

On a side note, DH worked and stayed in Gaithersburg for a couple of years and DD and I stayed with him during some of her school breaks. Have you, and/or have they been to Lancaster County Dutch Market in Germantown? We liked just about everything we got there.

Not sure you saw the private message I sent you.

I haven't been to the Dutch Market in Germantown but I have been to this one as it is much closer to my area. https://www.padutchfarmmarket.com/

It is in Annapolis Harbor Center off route 2.

There are many of these markets circling the DC area that have sprung up the last few years. Son may have gone. They tend to hike on their time off but have been known to go apple picking, etc.

I absolutely hate having to get anywhere close to Rockville Pike either 270 or 355 - traffic! At least since they put in the new 200, it can be used to get over that way without too much congestion - my ezpass gets a workout as I even use it in Laurel.

Hello! Hope everyone is doing well. I've been MIA for a while in this upside down world.

I am finally ready to transfer points into my Delta mileage account and wouldn't you know I am getting this message when I go to transfer them:

We are unable to transfer points to travel partners at this time.

Does anyone know what this could mean? Is it a temporary glitch or has something changed with transferring UR points?

TIA!
Somebody beat me to pointing out that UR's don't transfer to Delta. My guess is that it is a standard weekend issue. I know I've had problems transferring UR to WN on weekends and after hours occasionally.
FYI: Chase Freedom Flex Now Live For Product Changes (and you CAN do it from a Sapphire Card)

Took me 4 minutes to PC my CF to a CFF, they said it would be here by the end of the week. I really want that phone insurance and 3x points on drugstores.

We are looking at a family trip to Philadelphia/Hershey/Baltimore around new years. No real hotel preferences, but we found a Homewood, family-friendly and centrally located for most of the trip. Would you use 140,000 Hhonors points or pay $740 (incl all taxes/fees)? I would rather save up the points for something special, but no idea what that might be right now, so paying cash seems like a waste.

Still have 13 amex small business credits. I am trying buying egifter $10 choice gift cards. Just tried one on ds's account and didn't get the email, but hopefully the credit shows up.

ETA: Just showed up! 12 more purchases to go:)

For those following my seemingly never-ending saga of the Maldives / everywhere trip next year, I got to thinking last night, what if I could get us into an Etihad first class apartment for 1 leg of our return trip (since their hub is in Abu Dhabi, where we fly to from Singapore). After spending a fair bit of time (which is par for the course with this game), I found a flight on the A380 from Abu Dhabi to London (on Etihad on the Aeroplan website), 5 days after we land there. Hmm, what to do, what to do?

Cue the idea for a 90 minute drive (hired driver, of course) from Abu Dhabi to the Al Maha (in Dubai) for 5 nights. But do they have availability on points? Yes indeed they do! Tagging @calypso726 for ideas -- is it worth a 5 night stay here, or would we be better off spending maybe 3 nights here and then 2 in the city?

I still have our flight from Abu Dhabi in first class (via LAX) on the 777-300ER (no apartments in first class) booked until I decide if I really want to extend this trip another 5 days. It's almost all on points, but I don't really have anyone to look after the dog for this long and it is a long time for me to be away.

I still have to book flights home from London to Toronto (on June 4th) using AA miles. Then I will take some time to decide which route to take home (stop in Dubai or fly home via LAX), but right now I'm leaning towards trying out the famous Etihad apartment, even if it's just for 7.5 hours ('cuz who knows when I will get the chance again).

Our plan for a second trip here included a 5 night stay. There are many who say a couple of nights is good enough. Yet, 4 nights weren't long enough for us the first time. We did not want to leave. Personally the minimum amount of time I'd stay would be 3 nights. We did regret not going into the city and were planning to do that on the trip that we cancelled for December. We were going to do 2 nights in the city and 5 nights at Al Maha.

Just curious, (as I have been out of the game this year...too much to keep track of among other things) why are people PC to the Freedom Flex instead of applying for one? Just because they don't want to take up a 5/24 spot? I read on DOC then you won't get the 5xUR on Grocery if you PC, and to me, that would make it pretty valuable. We have two Freedom's (one CSR, CIP, three Amex's, IHG, and a Disney) and are well under 5/24...so as I am trying to read up on this new product, I wanted to see other's thoughts on it.

Thanks!

My guess would be that people PC'ing are either over 5/24, have intentions for another card (me - CSP) or have a lot of cards such as a sapphire they were planning to PC anyway.

It looks like a decent deal but is not attractive for me right at the moment but may be in the future.

I'm sure there are several reasons. I was just approved for a Freedom Unlimited which also comes with 5X on groceries and the same sign up bonus as the Flex, plus $100 referral bonus for DH. SO I will PC one of my 2 Freedoms to the Flex, mostly for the drugstore rewards.

so anything purchased on e-gifter is working? I saw something from DOC on Facebook but didn't read it.

I would use the points if you have them. That is a pretty good redemption for Honors points, only one H now. 1.9 CPP is about three times the usual redemption rate.

I don't think I would get approved for a new card by Chase, even though I am now under 5/24. My Freedom is my oldest card and I would have absolutely no reason to keep it if I got the CFF. This card is much more useful to me than the Freedom was, if only for the cell phone insurance and drugstores. I can now get 3x points on all of my prescription meds, and I'm on a few.

I tried my first one today. Still waiting for the email. I still have 8 or 9 more to use!

I don't even know how many I have left. At least 25 probably. No way I am using them all, but I might do some.
Oddly I got $10 on one of them that we used in South Dakota.

Comes out to 0.53 cent per point, which is close to the minimum I'd use them for. But would mentally struggle with it lol. There's a double points promotion going on. The stay needs to be complete by 12/31/20. If your dates fit, would be something to consider as well.

I think your math is a little off on this one. I get .005285 or a little over 1/2 a cent.

So what you're saying is I no longer have an excuse to buy something from Amazon every single day? Bummer.

I'll need to go back to buying amazon gc. The 5% groceries is the one reason I'm considering the flex but with it being an MC I'm not sure my store will code as groceries. The citi MC I got didn't but with the chase visas it does. Don't want to waste a spot on a card I can't fully use, I have enough of those amex.
