Hello! Hope everyone is doing well. I've been MIA for a while in this upside down world.

I am finally ready to transfer points into my Delta mileage account and wouldn't you know I am getting this message when I go to transfer them:

We are unable to transfer points to travel partners at this time.

Does anyone know what this could mean? Is it a temporary glitch or has something changed with transferring UR points?

TIA!

Maybe because Delta is not a transfer partner of UR? :confused3

I assume you plan to quickly use your $300 TC before you cancel or PC your CSR. You can PC it to a CFF or CFU. If you cancel it, make sure you have your URs safely housed on a separate card.
Thank you so much!

Can one use the TC and then cancel the card? Tbh it never occurred to me (would they claw it back?). I could use the TC in a heartbeat :)

Any recommendation on which is better: the CIC or CIU? I doubt I'd use either much, but would prefer to PC rather than cancel.

I applied for the CSP around 11am on 8/17 and it was in my mailbox on 8/24.
I applied for the CSR around noon on 8/18 and it was at my doorstep on 8/20.
Just in case it makes a difference, it looks like they are sent from Ohio and I live in TN.
Thank you! Based on those timelines it should work. My main concern is holiday mail, but I'm going to go for it and hope the cards get to our Florida house, picked up and couriered up to our house in Toronto (overnight courier).

Yes.

You’re confusing Chase with Amex. Get it? RATs have claws.

CIC if you’re going to buy GCs or actual office supplies at office supply stores for 5x UR. CIU if you don’t and want a card that earns 1.5x UR on your non-MSR non-bonus category spend. Both have no AF.

Thanks to all who answered questions and gave tips about EBay! I listed and sold my first item. Printed a label, just need to pack it up and I'm done. Another question, which cards do you all use for shipping fees? I used Discover today since it's 5% PayPal this quarter but need to have a plan going forward. Do shipping fees thru PayPal code shipping on CIP? Or is there a different way to pay shipping fees?

It's a townhouse so an individual owner. Son's old apartment was on Pooks Hill Rd just inside the Beltway off 355/Wisconsin Ave. There are quite a few buildings in that area with smaller (my opinion) 1 bedrooms running/starting around $1600. I don't know the names of either of these. Fiance is about a mile away outside the Beltway off Rockville Pike (355), near White Flint, again 1 bedroom apartments in that area are starting over $1600 plus.

They've both found this area to be convenient as neither travels Downtown for work. He was able to walk if he wanted and she isn't too far either. But both are predominantly working from home at the moment. He does have to go to the hospital once or twice a week.
Thanks. They are at NIH. The co-worker that is looking for a different location is currently in an efficiency near the Capitol and is paying around $1800/mo without parking. He's been taking the redline to work. I have no idea if that is furnished or not. He was sent to this job sometime in April or May. With the marches and the upcoming election he wants to get out of the area. He owns a house in S.C. and his truck is kept there.
He told DH that he's going to buy himself a car to use while there and is looking for a new apartment. He is considering anywhere around NIH up to as far north as Germantown. DH cautioned him about the gridlock that occurs on the roads during the times and directions he would be traveling. Apartment hunting on the weekends doesn't give an accurate picture of what he will be dealing with during the week (and times) when trying to get to work and back "home".

Okay but I also need to transfer URs to Marriott but it didn't let me get that far. I get this message:

We are unable to transfer points to travel partners at this time.

That's not the kid of message that would show up if I try to transfer to a non partner - it would just not show up as the partner. It's probably a glitch with Chase right now, I'm guessing.

CIU it is then! I like 1.5 x UR on spend. I'd probably get a fair bit of use out of the card!

On another note I was looking at my UR account a little while ago and noted some minor spend on Apple netted 10 x UR. Is that a recent promo? Anyone know when it ends?

Grrr. I got the same message. I hope they fix this ASAP as I need to transfer URs to Singapore Air for a flight from Male to Singapore in May and there are only 2 seats left on points. Very frustrating, compounded by the fact that it takes 3 full days for the URs to show up in my Singapore Air / Kris Flyer account.

Congrats on the sale.....yes eBay shipping fees on the CIP code as shipping

Will you have someone at your Florida house to get it? Mine was delivered in an Express Envelope before noon by UPS. It was literally left on my doorstep! They didn't ring the doorbell when they dropped it off so I had no idea it was there until I opened my front door to go check my mailbox (that is on the street) and it fell at my feet. LOL

So does anyone know of a Marriott that will sell me a gift card in the DC area?

Pooks Hill is a perfect area for NIH. Tell him to look at Pooks Hill Tower and Court. It's basic but safe and has parking included. Son lived there with room mates about 3 ish years ago. If he's looking for fancy, it's not, but should be convenient. If he's living with granite and stainless in what he has, this is more formica if I remember correctly - although I've only seen the one unit. I don't know if they have efficiency units.

Son and Fiance started looking at $1800 as top of their budget so they could save for a house. The townhouse they found is now $1900, but was listed at $2K. It's nearer to Gaithersburg and they will have gridlock also but son has the ability to adjust hours a bit, plus once they start looking for that house, they will be out further anyway. There house range is under $500K and they won't get much closer in for that, that they would want.

The townhouses they saw at $1800 were certainly livable but not many updates, on the smaller side, postage stamp green space, and a lot of them were built back to back so neighbors on 3 sides. Plus parking included but minimal and guests would almost have to leave their cars home. So, they are fortunate to have found the one they did.

If he wants to move in November it's time to do it. Son gets the new place mid October, and they started looking in the spring, but they were pretty picky about staying on budget and getting what they eventually got.

Does he get parking at NIH? Son does get parking at Walter Reed.

I also just read the google reviews (4.1) and they are pretty positive for the Tower building. Bad reviews were 1 star with no message, which to me is a fishy review.

My husband's COO goes by a few times a week; I also have a neighbor that watches the house for us (she would pick up the envelope and place it in the mailbox for me). The house is in a gated country club, on a cul de sac and doesn't get a lot of street traffic, so anything left at the door should be fine for a few hours.

You should sign up for ups and fedex alerts. I get emails whenever one of them gets shipping info and lets me know when it'll be delivered. And if you haven't, you should sign up for informed delivery with usps, those 3 would cover pretty much everything you'd get there.

Thank You! DH is going to relay the information to his co-worker.

On a side note, DH worked and stayed in Gaithersburg for a couple of years and DD and I stayed with him during some of her school breaks. Have you, and/or have they been to Lancaster County Dutch Market in Germantown? We liked just about everything we got there.
