Thanks so much for your help. Points were on my statement that closed on December 14, 2016. Does that mean that I can apply on December 15th? That might be too late, as we are having friends pick up our mail twice per week and courier to Toronto once per month. I will have to give the DD some thought; could I just go for the CSP then upgrade back to the CSR during the year?

The 48 month rule is for both sapphire products, you can't get the bonus on either until the 48 months is up, that's why people dd. So if that timing won't work you'll have to find another card.

Now they do expedite the card but I'm not sure if waiting until the day after is enough to apply or not.

If I could turn to my experts for advice, please.

I think Japan in November is looking less and less likely- not because my flights are going to be canceled by the airline (which is what I was "hoping" for to get a refund), but because we won't be able to get into the country (or we will, but not without a lengthy quarantine).

Does anyone know whether ANA will refund my (VS) miles under this circumstance (if Japan is still requiring the 14 day quarantine)? I mean, it's miles plus roughly $500 in surcharges so... I'd sort of like to not lose that, but I'm not sure how any of that works.

Thanks everyone. I've been sort of low for awhile and trying to remember what needs to be canceled is, like for all of you, not helping.
I was going to go to Japan this April I don't think it's going to happen until there is a vaccine I have heard from miles blogs that people are getting ana miles refunds not sure about the surcharges I haven't heard anything regarding that but I would imagine they would as japan isn't allowing visitors.

Yeah when we asked to cancel our passes they were going to expire in about 30 days give or take. We did not renew them because when this all started in March we knew we most likely wouldn’t be taking him to the parks for the rest of the year. I honestly don’t know when we’ll feel safe to take him again. We’re hoping for next April for his birthday but that’s a long time from now.

There is now a Florida Resident Disney Magic Flex ticket out. 2 days for $130. It's good until September 30, 2020.

That would be too early for me as an older at risk adult. And I absolutely wouldn't take an infant or go and possibly bring back something to my home and family. It's too bad they didn't make it good until early next year. Maybe they will come up with another offer in spring. I'm leaning towards canceling my November trip. But I've also got January and February nights booked, plus I have tickets already that can be used. I just have to get modified food and wine festival out of my head. I'll decide by August 11 so that I can go for the remainder refund on my AP.

The schools in my area, both in Maryland and Northern Virginia are not opening - looks like most are planning 2nd semester Feb 1st. Maryland and Virginia have been made subject to quarantine by New York State. Wasn't planning to go that direction anyway, but this surprised me when it happened this week.

It looks to me like 2020 is a washout. Hope 2021 is better for all of us.

7 Chase cards and no offer not even on my Disney card. However, I have 8 Rite Aid offers and they closed our Rite Aid a few years ago. I have 2 Rite Aid offers on the same card with 1 day difference between them in expiry.
I had 2 Starbucks and, unfortunately, they don’t stack like AmEx.

I didn't think of that but it would have been sweet! Probably just buy some Disney gift cards and start the stock up process for next years dues. But I'll have to drive up route 1 to find a rite aid.....

You can't upgrade the CSP until after a year due to the CARD Act. I think you can downgrade your current CSR to a CF or CFU. Get the CSP. Then upgrade the CU/CFU back to a CSR. I wondered if the one Sapphire rule would prevent this, but it appears to work.

We definitely wouldn’t be going in September. I’m curious because disney gave us a free night to stay at any mod and I’m not sure how that will work now. It didn’t have an expiration so hopefully we can use it sometime next year.

Yes we are virtual for qtr 1 in a lot of central va. (Two adjacent more rural counties claim to be going five days in person but I highly doubt it). I don’t expect my kids to step foot in a school building this year. And it’s dd’s senior year. Also don’t think sat or act will be administered.

And ny has 31 states on their list but I too was shocked va got added. Our issues are mainly in the eastern part of the state (beach). I’m from ct and frankly have zero desire to ever return to the tri-state area so it doesn’t bother me. Just hoping mi doesn’t do something similar in the next five weeks.

I was afraid Florida might get jumpy and add us on their list for quarantine.....that would help make a lot of decisions for fall trips.

Can anyone verify if you can convert Universal Orlando theme park tickets bought on the UR portal to annual passes? I'm assuming you can, but just want to verify before I purchase. Thank you!

It's rather unpredictable and illogical so who knows. So incredibly discouraging.

DS’s private school is doing blue and red groups. They do 4 days in class, 4 days virtual. They are installing cameras in the classrooms so they will actually be “in class” during their virtual days. It will make for a long day though being on the laptop. The kids will need to wear masks all day and will eat lunch with their advisory group. I am not sure how I feel about it. I want him back but the idea of wearing a mask all day is daunting. They did virtual school really well so I think I would be happy to continue. Chemistry would be the challenging course for virtual.

I did it a few weeks ago. The guy at the ticket window couldn't believe it only cost $15 to upgrade to a Seasonal Pass. I on the other hand was mildly annoyed that it cost anything at all because technically I "paid" more than the cost of a Seasonal Pass through Chase. But I didn't feel like arguing as we were at the Hogwarts Express and just wanted to hop on and go.

Which ticket did you upgrade?
