A few questions for @Alexle2007 and anyone else who sells on eBay: Do you use auctions or fixed price? Do you offer free shipping or charge separately for shipping?

I'm about to list a few collectibles that my kids have left behind (apparently older Manga books are somewhat collectible).

It's been years since I've sold on eBay so I'd welcome any tips from those who have been selling.
I use fixed price with payment required immediately...eliminates tracking people down to pay, also charge for shipping based on the items weight and zip code, use to accept returns, but no longer put that in my listings since the shortest is 30 days which in to me is too long
Take plenty of pictures to include in your listing

DH does all fixed price and charges for shipping separately. Sometimes he’ll have buyers contact him for a lower price and he can decide if he wants to take it or not. He thinks the write-ups and the positive feedback are the most critical aspects. He makes sure everything is carefully packaged.

I do mostly fixed price and always charge fixed price shipping. Ebay takes their fee off your shipping too and my margins usually aren’t so great that I want to absorb that. You can send books using media mail so I would choose that and charge shipping. eBay (and Poshmark) have been really good lately!

those were some great days when i can buy an iphone for $2 with $499 shipping... lol

I wonder what card they use and who gets to use the points???:D
We thought it was really weird when DH reserved a United flight with URs and the confirmation says Mastercard #xxxx was used to book it!

@SouthFayetteFan HEY Cars 2 is my favorite! Take it from the mom of a 2.5 year old boy who only wants to watch the cars movies for his screen time, that one is underrated!
We are trying to show him some new movies and we only convince him by telling him they have cars in them :car:
i love Cars 2 also!
“Whatever you do, do not eat the free pistachio ice cream! It has turned!!” 🤣🤣
ETA I missed a word in the quote so had to ask my kids 😂

Oh I had a 2 yr old daughter who carried around 4 puzzle pieces of Finn McMissile as her buddy. Yes...she carried a portion of a puzzle to stores and church, etc.

Eventually we purchased a stuffed Finn to stop looking so ridiculous.

And it doesn’t change the fact the the movie was an atrocity!! 🤣. SO. BAD. I cannot for the life of me explain why she loved that movie but I must have watched it dozens of times that year.

I've wanted to watch Cars 2 for ages solely because I'm a Formula 1 junkie and a bunch of my favorite drivers made cameos.

Also, I'm a longtime Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan so when somebody tells me a movie is bad it just makes me want to see it more, lol.

I’m sure many of you remember my agonizing over our 30th anniversary flights to Honolulu this fall, that I booked last fall. Poured over every flight combo to find the perfect lie fat flights each way ( we have never flown even first class), and ended up choosing direct on Delta on the way out and a connecting American flight on the way home. That of course cause me much stress during the AA chaos. But that one settled in. Now Delta has cancelled my flight and put us on connecting first class (not Delta One lie flat) through Salt Lake City. I know it’s selfish and stupid considering everything, but I lost it. This was the perfect flight to start the perfect trip that we worked so long and hard for and now it’s not what I wanted. Again so stupid, but I really wanted to be able to put my feet up for such a long flight. Anyway... Delta said I can have a full cash refund. I don’t know if I want to do that l, or just keep the flights (even though I paid for a more expensive flight) but if we do, anyone know how the refund works if I used Chase URs to book the flights??
I can’t answer your question, but sympathize with you. This year is our 25th anniversary. First we were going to Italy, but ultimately ended up changing to Hawaii in October. We have flights and resort booked, and yet I’m not sure we’ll even go at this point. You have every right to feel anger, disappointment, etc. You put a lot of effort into creating a special vacation, only to be let down. Yes, we all need to be thankful for our health and that of our loved ones right now, but darn it, sometimes having a small tantrum that all of our well laid plans are being ruined is ok too. I hope we both get to go to Hawaii in the fall.
Oh, I totally feel you both :grouphug: I'm all but resigned to moving our Australia trip to 2021.

OMG youngest dd was such a Cinderella fan that for almost one entire year she wanted to use her entire screen time to watch "Cinderella-two-dreams-come-true" (no breaths in-between the words):sad2:

I didn't watch it but all I'm going to say is, it could've been Planes. Cars 2 wasn't an atrocity, it is the 3rd best but I also found Cruise to be quite obnoxious in the 3rd and she didn't redeem herself to me even though she had the movie character "aha" I'll be a better "person" moment.

Strange admission... I actually somewhat enjoy Planes and Planes: Fire and Rescue. 😳 I probably should head to shun corner now. 🤣

Also worth noting - while those movies come from the “world of Cars” they aren’t Pixar movies.

DH is a little Cars obsessed- yes DH not DS lol. See below what is in our family room. And we had to buy another set of shelves because we have more waiting to be put out... (don’t know how to make the pictures upright)View attachment 491029View attachment 491030View attachment 491031

My DH has always been into cars so it's no surprise that Cars was one of the first Disney movies he and DS watched together quite a few years back. That started DSs huge obsession with the entire Cars line. He owns just about all the diecast and mini versions of the Cars characters in addition to many of the Cars themed hot wheels track sets and an ungodly amount of Cars themed clothes and accessories. He was and still is very much into Planes as well, and has lots of the Planes diecast characters. In fact, he's had both a Cars and Planes themed bday parties. His bedroom decor is mostly Cars themed also. So we definitely watch all of the Cars and Planes movies over and over in this household. DS is often disappointed in the lack of Planes related stuff available when we are at WDW, but the abundance of Cars makes him very happy!
