Does anyone here have a couple of Disney spirit jerseys? I want to buy another one, but have some concerns about the sizing. My first one (imagination pink) ran true to size, but then I got the Mandalorian one which was WAY bigger (like, by several inches all the way around), and I had to exchange it for a smaller size. Someone else I know got the Mandalorian too and said there's was super big. Just trying to figure out if the Mandalorian one was a one-off on sizing!
I bought the DVC one in January. I'm mostly a Disney Medium (I swear overall Disney runs small), but ended up with a small in the jersey. I know they're supposed to be big, but not that big. I almost would have gotten XS except the neck was too tight.

I hope they're wrong. I have a 30th anniversary Europe trip planned in late August.

I hope so, too. Since ours is a cruise, I pretty much know it's not going to work, but I'll keep hoping you can get your trip in Aug. Ours was planned for the Aug 15th ish through Labor Day weekend. My DD is desperately hoping to get back, but her residency ends in June and as of now only citizens or people with resident visas can get into Norway, but it's not a good time to fly. I also think it will be very dependent on which countries you were planning to visit.

Our vacation there was to begin June 6. So my dilemma is, do I really want to be there a week after they reopen?

Yeah that's a tough one. We aren't till the end of June but even if they did reopen June 1 (which I have doubts about)... I just don't know if we would risk it.

The difficulty for us is getting all the kids together at the same time when there are no school requirements. With older son in band, it makes trips during fall and Christmas break more difficult (and my AP is blocked over Christmas anyway).

Personally I wouldn't want to be a guinea pig and I'm fairly skeptical of that date.

Also skeptical.

So tentatively booking some flights for August. Anyone think we can change planes on a SW flight in PHX in 45 minutes? I’ve been to PHX before but on AA. So is 45 minutes doable?

I think depending on the gate locations it's doable. If it's all SW, at least they're all in the same terminal.

My parents are in Petoskey. They are snowbirds and typically head north around Memorial Day. But they'd rather be in Naples if both places are basically shut down. Also, they'll need to have their car shipped and fly north and that makes me a little nervous (they're in their mid 70s).

Petoskey! Home of American Spoon Foods! Sadly, they haven't had their Cherry Butter in years. It used to be all we would buy.

@LuckyMamaInDE It is not looking good for our dream trips to the Land Downunder! I pretty sure I am about to breakdown! It was bad enough having our cruise canceled and Disneyland but this is too much! I am so over vacation planning! I doubt will be able nab 3 F Class on Qantas again. And now I’ll have all of these Qantas miles that will get me nowhere :( I am going over to the corner with my margaritas to 😭 💔💔💔💔Bye, bye 🐨🐨🇦🇺🇦🇺🍾🍾 😢😢😢😢😢😢https://viewfromthewing.com/europe-...-september-australia-through-end-of-the-year/
I'll grieve with you. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: I've known for a while that the chances of us getting to Norway and Iceland in Aug/Sept were very slim, but it just stinks. We worked hard to get those lie flat seats, the PHPV in Paris reservation and the Marriott in Copenhagen. Plus all the private tours I booked (and our cruise) to all line up at the right times. It's pretty devastating, really. 💔 I'm sorry you're going to be stuck with all the Qantas miles - our's will be Flying Blue, but with no plans to travel it all just makes me sad. I'll join you in the corner and I'll bring a box of Kleenex. 😭

I completely understand how you guys feel so I will share my potential lost trips with you.

July - Hawaii flying first class in lie flat seats, Managed to get a 2 bdrm ocean view over July 4th weekend at Aulani at the 7 month window. Have the luau booked for the 6 of us too. On the way back we were stopping at DLR for a few days and had managed to get a 2 bdrm at Grand California at the 7 month window. DVC banking window will close at the end of the month so if this trip doesn't happen, that's a lot of DVC points I stand to lose.

September - Ireland/Northern Ireland First class on BA using a travel together ticket that was earned by spending $30,000 on the BA card. If the trip is cancelled the travel together ticket will expire shortly after so that was a waste of $30k spend. Four nights at Ashford Castle with UR points and no idea how that will play out as to whether or not we'd get the UR points back.

December - Dubai and Africa. Lie flat business class seats on Emirates, 400,000 BonBlah points for 5 nights at The Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa. One night at Giraffe Manor that is a huge bucket list item and this entire trip is literally planned around having managed to get one night there. Then 5 nights at the Fairmont Mara Safari club in Kenya. I was so looking forward to seeing the Maasai Mara and checking off our 7th continent.

These are on top of the trips we've already had to cancel. We had finally timed the cherry blossoms blooming in DC perfectly and had our 1st class flights booked with points and miles. We had secured 2 nights at The Willard with our last unrestricted free night certs from IHG. We secured a reservation for afternoon tea at Peacock alley and were going to meet up with a fellow DISer for dinner at the Occidental. All of that never happened.

Last week week, I had lie flat first class seats to New York. It was my niece's Christmas present and it would have been her second time ever on a plane and her very first trip to New York. We had free night certs from BonBlah in Times Square and had front row center seats to the Broadway musical she had been dying to see. None of that happened either.

So, I get it. I would never have thought 2020 looks like what it does right now. If you're gonna have Margaritas, I will join you and bring some ice cream and chocolate. While we drown ourselves in tasty cocktails, let's remember that if we travel hacked these trips once, we can totally do it again. :grouphug:

I have Haunted Mansion, Rose Gold & Ariel. All of them are size XS. I usually wear S. The Rose Gold one is definitely larger than the other two. I don’t think the sizing is consistent.

This is terrible. I’m so sorry. We didn’t cancel yet, but I can’t bring myself to actually plan anything for our September trip. I just can’t handle losing another one at this point.

Well, I bit the bullet and canceled our June trip. I was able to rebook in August before school starts again (assuming it does and on the dates already planned ) I was able to rebook our Marriott hotel by using both my 35k and 50k FNC plus points (35k hotel with 40k surge price) We were also supposed to be going to Universal Hollywood but I didn’t rebook that part. Just can’t.
Totally not looking forward to weather in June but we’ll deal if we manage to make it there.

Our school starts July 27.

Maybe I should start looking at early July instead.

HEYYYYYY!!!!!! Way too much talk of trips that are not gonna happen in the second half of this year. Too early to get all doom and gloom.

I'm hopeful for some path to normality beginning July - it may be a slow road back, but there will be opportunities. I just hope they find a way to stop this virus coming round for a second bite.

I am so sorry...really sorry since I know what you're missing :sad1:

Since I'm a control freak I've been busy dismantling my summer plans.

July lemons (aka there went my big 50th trip)-I cancellled my trip to Edinburgh and rescheduled the tour of Lewis, Harris, Skye, Mull and Iona to next June/July. I cancelled my favorite hotel in Edinburgh and won't be staying there (in the spa) for my actual birthday. 😥 Scott Dunn is being difficult (I feel you @*WDW*Groupie*!) but I'm hoping my travel insurance will cover 75% of the nonrefundable deposit. Croatia and Slovenia will happen another year, with another company.

Lemonade-I used the ridiculous number of Bonvoy points I received back to book the Swan during Food & Wine. I'm still waiting for British Air to cancel my flight and hopefully I can use those points to rebook next year's flight and was able to reschedule my islands tour with the same company. I found a FL resident rate for nights covering my actual birthday and currently have a GF club level room for that, as well as reservations for Beaches and Cream and Yachtsman Steakhouse. Fingers crossed that the GF Spa will be open because I plan to eat and spa for 72 hours.😁

I also requested my TA cancel my August Baltic cruise with DCL today. This is the second time I've had to cancel this itinerary so perhaps that's a sign. No plans right now to substitute for this trip but we'll see. Delta was super awesome and refunded my taxes and miles without a miles redeposit fee, saving me what would have cost $900 ($150/per flight x 6 flights).

Lemonade-when we are back to flying again, both DH and I have a healthy stash of Delta and United miles and hopefully soon Flying Blue and BA miles. My love of travel has not diminished (and has grown with absence lol) and I suspect almost as soon as the go-ahead to fly, cruise, go to parks, I'll be among the first queuing up!

More importantly home of Kilwin's and Johan's! Although Kilwin's I can get locally now (and they are so ridiculously expensive) but Johan's is special:)

Ooh I've never heard of those! Will have to check them out.

Years (many, many years) ago I got a gift from my "client" in Michigan- it was a gift box of ASF jams/butters and we were hooked. We ordered many, many jars from them and then suddenly one year they stopped carrying their cherry butter. At the time they said it was because their cherry quality wasn't up to their standards but that was at least 5 years ago and they haven't had it since so I am very sad.

Of course, it was about $8 a jar so my wallet isn't sad... but man, that stuff is so wonderful.

I’ve never heard of a school starting in July! I’m used to late August
Our district is on a "modified year round" schedule (has been for many, many years and some other area districts are starting to copy it) so we have 2 weeks in the fall, 2 weeks at Christmas (which is normal, of course), and 2 weeks in the spring.

All of which translates into roughly 7.5 weeks in the summer 😬

ETA: With marching band camp starting back on July 15, it doesn't leave us a lot of time.

Yikes that doesn't sound fun to me. I do somewhat see a positive behind that, though. Summer is a long gap where a lot of kids forget things they learned from the previous year so having those small breaks here and there and a shorter summer probably helps with that.

Ha, with this year's school closures, all bets are off.... :rotfl:

It's ok because we enjoy the longer breaks throughout the year, but it does make summer planning a bit more difficult.

Plus, band camp (which is not nearly as fun as you're imagining) is TOUGH during the hottest (and most humid) part of the summer. The kids are generally outside early in the morning, then indoors (or at least in a shaded area of the campus) during the hottest part of the day, then back outside after sunset. Of course, sunset isn't until 8 pm or so... but these kids are dedicated and honestly, I don't think they'd have it any other way.

We were supposed to go to WDW May 30 - June 6th but rebooked for end of July. I was back and forth then SW canceled our flights so took that as the final sign that we needed to rebook.

Just logged into my SW account, obsessively checking our flights now and just noticed today in points activity I have:

Customer Service Adjustment0 PTS

Anyone ever have something like that?

Well yeah I don't think you can consider this year lol. Kids all over the country are gonna be in such different places next year.

I did band camp! I absolutely loved it! I lived in Iowa so it was humid, but probably not as hot as other parts of the country. We stayed out from morning until night.
