I came in to my office to get a jump-start on next week and the vending machine is out of Diet Coke AND Diet Dr. Pepper (my two favorites, in that order). So I am now drinking a Coke Zero for perhaps the first time (if I've had it before I don't remember), and it reminds me of Diet Coke in Europe (Coke Light I think it is), which reminds me of our DCL cruises, which is about to make me cry.

On the pet front, both DH and I had dogs growing up and we had one dog when my kids were growing up, and even though she was a great dog, we now have cats and I don't think we are getting another dog. Cats are almost all of the companionship benefits of dogs (one of our cats even has learned a few tricks) but are better for our lifestyle now (DH and I would some days both work 10-12 hours in our not-WFH offices, plus cats are okay with a sitter checking in once a day when we travel).

So right now we have wdw booked for June and Aug dates. We’re trying to think of back up ideas to these in case wdw doesn’t open by then (but really hoping it does). But I really can’t wait to go SOMEWHERE! What are everyone’s thoughts on any places that may open before amusement parks do? Beaches? State parks? Any destination really because as soon as we can go somewhere we will. I was thinking of Hawaii for next year but could possibly have the Hilton and SW points to get us there by Aug. But I don’t want to do a trip like Hawaii if most things will still be closed because that’s a trip we may only take once. I was just thinking that things like hiking, swimming, kayaks, etc may open to the public before a huge amusement park. I’m just trying to think of a back up summer trip to start working on in case wdw doesn’t work out. Any suggestions?

The amex hilton one pops up every so often. Now I see the computers have been listening to mom and I since I know have college hunks hauling junk ads. We need them to get the old freezer and some other stuff when we get the new one. I always blame the rothy and allbirds (also on here) on you all since I don't like the shoes.

Most ads I know what caused them, whether it's something on the boards, conversation it's heard or something I've looked but, but they normally don't hang around for well over a month. After having the weather channel on watching the awful storms in the south I'm sure I'll have something new for that in the next few days too.

OMG I chatted to cancel my spg biz and the rep cancelled my platinum card which I've only had since June

Cashed in a lot of MR points today and ordered a 70" flat screen for the basement. We really won't be traveling anytime soon (Disney in Sept is already paid for anyway) so it seemed like a good time to get something DH really wanted. When I ordered the TV he was so excited when I told him. Really takes a long time to get deliveries now tho. Will be over a week.

I can't believe it. The SPCA answered my inquiry and told me to fill out an application for the dogs even though they're closed and it's Easter Sunday. They said they have people working from home to place animals. So I guess I'm doing this if only the dogs are good with cats.

They say it will be reinstated in 24-48 hours. I was on my spg biz account in the app, then hit chat. Said I wanted to cancel. Rep asked why and I said the free night certificate wasn't valuable. I guess I shouldn't have assumed we were on the same page but I was trying to multi-task. Lesson learned! Glad they can fix it.

I called about my Bonblah biz Friday and was told I had a retention offer for 5000 points with $1k spend. I said I’d think about it. I called today (my AF posted 29 days ago ) and the rep told me nope, no retention offers. “Marriott and Amex have no retention offers on that card.” She was very happy to help me cancel. Like really really happy and very efficient, whole call was 3 minutes. I’m a bit disappointed because of my 3 Amex cards that was the only one with useful offers.
