We stayed at Deerfield Beach last July (when we were there for my dh’s training in boca). We stayed at the Wyndham right on the pier. It was so lovely!! Very busy though but we just loved the area. We drove to Delray too since that was a place we’d considered staying. That whole area was so pretty! I’d love to go back when it is not so hot and not so busy.
I rode there last week -- loved the vibe of the area. Dd and I will go back once things open up again and support some local businesses. During the week I do more 'city' rides -- the beach rides are my weekend treat!

It was kind of a hodgepodge. I’ve been wanting to support my favorite local downtown Boise boutique. I was first thinking gift card and might still do that if the store closures go on a lot longer, but it also occurred to me that a gift card could be risky if they go under. But on their Instagram feed, I saw a super cute Rails sweatshirt and lounge pants set. Loungewear seems to be all that is catching my eye right now given WFH/sheltering in place, lol. I was able to order thru Insta messaging and they are sending to my house. I’m pretty true to size, but I can return it at some point if it doesn’t fit or I don’t like it. I also bought a bag from ShortyLove (the Wonder in camo), a couple of products from Primally Pure and the most random purchase was a pair a camo (there seems to be a theme here) ankle sweats from a site I saw on FB. I don’t usually do that (buy off of FB), but they were inexpensive and I was kind of wallowing yesterday until I made the purchases and got out for a long walk. Rothy‘s is releasing sandals soon, so those might be next....

I love Rails! Rothy's is coming out with sandals you say ? Do you know when they will release them? I see a pair in my future!

A coton, which is what we have. I would ideally like a cavapoo, but finding the right dog in Florida that we can drive to pick up is no easy feat. We found a breeder who lives about a 3 hour drive north and she had a litter at the end of March. I was thinking about a medium sized dog (golden doodle or Aussiepoo), but I have to be able to bring the dogs to Florida in the cabin, so the ideal size is 10-12 lbs.
We have a Shorkie ...she in my photo...8lbs and 11 years old, does not shed...the sweetest little girl

DH said he would be in charge of dessert & what he “made” was a frozen chocolate pie that defrosted on the counter for two hours. So, I feel you.

I tried ordering what we would usually have but that was stupid because we ended up with a 12 lb spiral ham for two people. I did manage to make a hot potato salad but it cost me $10 for 8 oz of Velveeta. That one was worth it, though. Going to be eating a lot of ham sandwiches & split pea soup this week.

We have a 16 lb whole ham for the 3 of us. But I’ll make soup, a casserole and sandwiches this week. We‘ll freeze a portion to use later.
Happy Easter, everyone!

Today also marks the kickoff of National Telecommunicators' Week so if you see or know a 911 operator or dispatcher, be sure to give them a virtual hug!
:grouphug:

Got a text a little while ago that SWA cancelled my flight from MCO to BOI for the now-cancelled Rival Run weekend. This is exactly what I hoped would happen! I called and asked the agent if I could get a refund instead of more travel funds. She put the refund request through without any hassle. I had already repriced that flight once so still have $180 in travel funds for that one. Luckily they expire in May (next month) so should get the new expiration date of June 2021 per SWA’s extension of travel funds due to COVID-19.

Happy easter everyone! Dh made bacon, eggs, and waffles for breakfast. Then we had an Easter egg hunt inside our house for each other. Now we’re watching It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown. This is my first time watching it. We found it for free on Bing video.

After this we’re gonna start making our lunch: deviled eggs (in the fridge now), grilled ham steak, bbq little smokies (in the crock pot now), Hawaiian rolls, green beans, and mashed potatoes. For dessert we bought two slices of frozen turtle pie. Then later we’re gonna start our LEGO diner!

We have 10 lb ham for 3 people. I’ll bring my mom a plate then soups, sandwiches and freeze the rest. Although DS won’t eat slit pea, so bean soup it is.
I had a June SWA flight that went from a nonstop from BOI to SJC, to a one stop going backwards through Denver. I called and explained that the change didn’t work for us and that I already had so many travel funds that I’d really appreciate a refund. They did the refund without any pushback, so it’s probably worth a call.
I got an email that SW miles were returned to DHs account. No notice that the flight canceled, just returned miles. I rebooked but still know we probably won’t be going. Also booked a hotel for August, hoping maybe that will work when the June trip gets canceled. But there are so many ifs there, wed both have to get time off approved, find flights, etc. So much work done, just sad.

Did they send a pic? I checked their website and couldn't see any photos!

Yes, but I’m not able to copy or save it. Looks like two styles, both flat slides. One with three bands across the top of the foot and another with a knot or bow across the top of the foot. Both in multiple colors. Based on the picks, I prefer the triple band style.

So adorable! I have never heard of all of these different dogs! I wish DS wanted one that wouldn’t shed all over the place. I hate dog hair.
I grew up with brittanies and don't think I can handle a shedder (unless it's a rescue). I did the math what I've spent on grooming over the last 18 years (five figures) and I'm super frugal and I still don't care.

So right now we have wdw booked for June and Aug dates. We’re trying to think of back up ideas to these in case wdw doesn’t open by then (but really hoping it does). But I really can’t wait to go SOMEWHERE! What are everyone’s thoughts on any places that may open before amusement parks do? Beaches? State parks? Any destination really because as soon as we can go somewhere we will. I was thinking of Hawaii for next year but could possibly have the Hilton and SW points to get us there by Aug. But I don’t want to do a trip like Hawaii if most things will still be closed because that’s a trip we may only take once. I was just thinking that things like hiking, swimming, kayaks, etc may open to the public before a huge amusement park. I’m just trying to think of a back up summer trip to start working on in case wdw doesn’t work out. Any suggestions?
