I’m waiting impatiently for WDW to update us on April. They pulled all the European Med cruises off the website for May, June and half of a July. Cancellation or itinerary change? Nobody’s knows.

If April gets scrubbed I was thinking June, but prices are high. Should I wait for the deep discounts this Fall?
Has anybody ever upgraded their tickets to an annual pass by calling

I have a list of 30 books and not one of them is on there. Maybe it’s the type of books I read?
I'm probably not super picky. I like fiction/historical fiction. I'll read chic lit/romance. I go to Kindle Unlimited and look for books with tons of reviews and 4.5+ stars. I always finish them. If there were something I really wanted I could probably get it from my library but I always have plenty of books in the queue.

I also like it. If your list is more mainstream they are probably not there. It tends to be smaller/less known authors as it's easier to publish. I find a lot I like tho, maybe start with the ones that are top rated in the genres you like?

Wow Kindle Unlimited is terrible. I went through my entire list of books I want to read and none of them are offered. I did the free 2 months just to see what they had. I'm glad I didn't pay money for it
Really? I have not searched for specific titles but we have it free for 3 months since DS just got a Kindle for his birthday. It’s perfect timing since no school. He’s been reading short (way below his level) books but at least it’s something. Finding lots of choices.

Are you still going to DL this summer?

They extended the sun and fun offer to August 1.. saw excellent deals in June.

While our grocery bill has increased as we stocked up on items, our dining out spending has decreased significantly. DS and I typically grab Starbucks, Dunkin or actually sit down on Wed when he has late start at Denny’s or IHOP, all of that spending has ceased. They typically eat breakfast out Sat and Sun, not this weekend. And dinner out 3-4 times a week and so far I got Chinese takeout one night and the boys got McDs fries after grocery shopping yesterday.

And DS has his shirt on backwards and won’t charge and it’s driving me CRAZY!

I've spent an inordinate amount of time today watching a bald eagle sitting on its nest. I find it calming. One of the 2 eggs has hatched, occasionally there is a glimpse of the eaglet, but it is quite cold today so the adult is keeping it warm underneath. I am sad to miss my church service tomorrow so I am humming On Eagles' Wings also!

My Hawaii news - I did book my outbound flights for next January. Not $200 but I did get first class for only $11.20 :cool1: . Return flights will be available next Saturday. I have enough miles for one ticket and will use URs for the other one. I am starting to get really excited about this. DH had to talk me into going but I've been reading trip reports and looking up things to do and really, really into it now.
Before things went crazy, I did this. Just booked the return flights. Figure we either be back close to normal or I'll be able to cancel as flights will be shut down.

So if I have flights, I need to move on to hotels. We are doing 4 nights on the Big Island. I looked on the hotel review thread but didn't see any reviews for the Big Island. Can anyone recommend Waikoloa vs Kona for 4 nights? At this point, I'd prefer to drive distances than move hotels so I think we'll pick one spot to stay. Obviously we'll be visiting Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. Other spots are the coast and beaches (not too planned at this point). Any recommendations on accomodatoins?

I have points at Marriott and Hilton and lots of URs. I am fine with budget hotels. But I'd want to splurge on at least one hotel. Where to pick that - Maui, Oahu or Hawaii?

Thanks all.

Now that the runDisney Rival Run weekend has been cancelled, I DM’d Delta on Twitter late yesterday afternoon about cancelling my flight from BOI to MCO, returning miles to my account and refunding taxes. Woke up to a reply DM that it has been taken care of, and I see the miles back in my account! I still have the return on SW to cancel, but I’m going to wait on that one until I see some extensions on travel fund dates hit my account so I know their new system is working. That just leaves one British Air flight deal with, but BA continues to be completely unresponsive. So unimpressed with their CS. They have already cancelled the long haul portion of the flight on their end but won’t respond about canceling the whole itinerary and returning Avios. Will be avoiding any future bookings directly through BA.
I'm going through a very similar experience with Virgin Atlantic. I've been texting with them, and it's been horrible. My flight has actually been canceled and they are asking me to wait until 3 days before to contact them. ***? I wrote them a scathing response to that. We'll see what I get back.

Kindle Unlimited is mostly books by "Indie" authors, aka self-published authors, and small publishers. You will not find books by big five New York Publishers there (i.e. Random House, Simon & Schuster, etc.). I believe Harper Collins is putting up some backlist titles on KU (older books), but I don't think anyone else has followed suit yet. Not all Indie authors will put their books up on KU as the program requires exclusivity, i.e., if you put your book up on KU, you can't put it up on iBooks, nook, etc.

I’ll try to look through the young adult books then. That’s what I mostly read and usually fantasy, sci-fi, or dystopian. I have books on hold at my library but wasn’t sure if they would actually get them or not

I’m not sure why the books I want aren’t on there. I might have to just look for books that have high ratings in the genre I like

Ahhh okay. That makes sense why none of my books are on there. They are all widely known or published books with high ratings

See if you can change online...they should let you without the fee increase unless the website isn’t set up for it yet

I just tried and it didn't work. It told me I didn't have enough points to change them (which is true. I don't have enough to cover the higher price). So I'll just keep checking back. Thanks though! :)

Yep, if they are bookstore type hardbacks/paperbacks (i.e. from NY publishers), you won't find them on KU.

Edited to add: except for books published by Amazon's own imprints in hardcover/paperback. I believe they make some of their books available on KU.

Scribd is offering free 30 day trial - no credit card required. Found some titles I need for my students if I keep teaching from home. There is a special link you need to use to avoid entering credit card info. It is on the scribd Facebook page.

A family member just texted us a picture of the local movie theater saying it was temporary closed. Her response was “it’s been like that all week. Silly”. People just aren’t getting it and probably won’t until they see it affecting them personally or someone they know
I live in a small, rural town. We don’t have identified cases in our county yet (though I don’t think we have testing capability, either). It’s hitting home as one of our teacher’s parents are snowbirds in Florida. Her step-dad is in the hospital in Fort Meyers with a confirmed case of COVID-19. He’s on a ventilator and not expected to make it. They just visited him about a month ago. Sadly, that’s what taken some people to realize this is a big deal.
