I was also surprised it was for foreign nationals only. I assumed it would have been the same as the China restrictions, which were for anyone (Right? Maybe I got that wrong?).

The rapidly changing landscape is making me thing we should cancel WDW next week. DH is not there yet, but he did call DVC yesterday. I assume we'd lose Cirque tickets. :-(

I did just book fliggts for a WDW trip for Oct and our return flights from Seattle in Aug. I used every tool.in my tool kit - companion pass, travel funds from the loophole, Amex credit for under $100 leg, and other DISChurner advice. 😉

Cirque tickets? What night? And at which hotel are you staying? I'm not yet afraid to go to WDW but, I don't get out into the parks much even though I have an AP. I actually think chances of getting randomly exposed are still fairly slim at this moment although I do think it's going to skyrocket in the upcoming months.

I have until tomorrow to revise my Hilton Head reservation. There is a possibility that my daughter and family will leave for back on Friday versus Saturday, so I've been considering other options. That Friday night is 35 points in our 2 bedroom which is 2 nights in a studio if I were to take a little detour over to Orlando on Saturday morning, just a short 300 mile drive, lol. Not even a full tank of cheap gas extra. I could book something local for Friday night with my Marriott points. Or just drive straight to Orlando on Friday morning and stay offsite.....

As you can see I am still hot to travel but with precautions. Also, as I am driving that eliminates the airplane, the airport, the taxi/uber/lyft part of possible exposure.

See what having DVC points, being retired and an annual pass does to you? Plus all these visa and disney gift cards I keep collecting.

With all the craziness we forgot to book our DVC room exactly at the 7 month mark and I can attest that DVC DVC bookings for the fall have not weaked at ALL! We were debating starting the trip at Universal anyway, so looks like we will do that for the 1st 2 nights.

Any advice booking Universal? We are primarily going for Harry Potter stuff. My kids are 7 and 10 and HATE thrill rides, even mild rollercoasters are too much for them. I get motion sick very easily so I don't ride much. So I don't see that much for us to do there aside from the HP stuff. We won't even ride most of the HP rides.

Is it worth staying at the higher tier resorts to get early entrance and from line passes? I don't know if we'll really get use of the front line passes. Or should I save money (or URs) and stay at a mid or lower range Universal resort?

I know we need park to park passes to ride the Hogwarts Express.

The included unlimited express passes are really nice, but based on what you’ve said I would save the money. You’ll still get early park admission by staying at any onsite hotel so you can use that lower crowd time to take advantage of fewer people in the Hogsmeade/Diagon Alley areas and then move on to the rides you are able to handle before wait times rise there. I would do Cabana Bay with two kids that age to take advantage of the lazy river and bowling alley. It’s a longish but doable walk to the parks, or you can do the buses.

We called DVC about our trip next week. If we cancel our points will be redeposited like they were never booked, no holding period.
That's great news! We have one night at the GCA for our trip to California in early April. We discussed before the 30 day period about cancelling, but didn't. We might still cancel though.

We have 4 opening night Cirque tickets for Friday the 20th. I was so excited when we booked them! It's really the only reason why I'm holding out on cancelling the trip. But even Cirque could potentially cancelled.... Ugh!

If we don't go and cant get the tickets refunded, I would want them to be used - I will let you know.

We have a studio at Poly.

I'm not worried about GOING to WDW, I'm worried about being stuck there or being quarantined at home because of the trip. We both work and have 2 kids in school, so I alsp wouldn't want to be the source of anyone's infection. Although, I am pretty sure it is already in our community... It seems irresponsible to be going to Disney when local companies are urging people to work from hone and my kids school is debating closing. This is all taking up too much of my head space!

I believe they told DH he had to cancel by the 15th? We check in 19th. But please call for yourself, I'm not 100% on that timeline and I don't want to be a source of misinformation!

We have three trips in our fam to wdw over the next two mos. First is just dd17 going Mar 20 to visit dd19 (who is down there on her dcp). Then dh & I go Mar 31 to see dd. Lastly in May, we all go back for 11 nights. I'm not ready to cancel at this point but I am concerned with all the rush to close everything that we are seeing right now, some of these cancellation decisions may be made for us. Hopefully, dvc would give us our points back as we have 8 nights in dvc and I booked another room that is nonrefundable :(

My dh's work is meeting right now to decide if they are going to close. We don't even have any cases in our immediate area.

Thanks, that's kinda what I'm thinking on the express passes. And my kids LOVE lazy rivers!

What. Happened. To. SWA. Routes.??? Wow. my dates aren't bookable yet.... but in the days before I travel next fall...the flights are... what happened? All nonstops are gone! from two different airports in Florida! the prices I'm seeing aren't bad but the routes..... what happened?
Agree! For the last several years, they've continued with evening/PM flights to Ft Myers from Chicago during hurricane season. Now the latest is around 2pm!

My flight for Saturday just dropped. Less than 1k points and I have a companion to rebook. Not sure if it's worth the hassle.
Companions are fairly easy. Just cancel the companion ticket, rebook, then readd the companion. I haven't added my companions yet. As long as there is a seat, you can add a companion so I just watch my flights and add them about 2 or so months out or at the point I feel I won't be repricing. Although, my flights never seem sell out of WGA fares so I guess I have that in my favor and that allows me to be chill in adding them. I have added them to my May flights, but not my July flights yet.

DD has been trying to rebook her Spirit flight to come home instead of school. It is not going well. They said to call or text. She waited on hold forever (claimed she fell asleep and was on hold for 12 hrs lol, not sure if that is true) and now it just goes straight to busy. Tried a million times. Also says to text and they will reply back. She has texted a bunch and no reply. Twitter is full of people saying the same. She finally gave up and just booked another ticket entirely. If she gets a credit or not at this point I don't really care. What a mess. Also had her fly to BWI instead of PIT because it was over $200 cheaper.

Cirque is letting us rebook our tickets from next week to our October week at no extra cost. I'm kinda shocked (in a good way). So we are definitely cancelling next week's WDW trip.

DH spoke to his dad earlier today (they help with our kids a lot) and they aren't comfortable with us going and exposing them when we get home. That pretty much settled it for us.

So so much craziness in the last 24 hours! I Haven't caught up on this thread since yesterday evening, but I wanted to post about how much peace of mind this points and miles game can offer. My DD and I are scheduled to leave for Scotland on March 29, arriving March 30 (we fly from Maui to the Bay Area on March 28 and are leaving for Scotland out of SFO). It is a super quick trip to attend Offer Holder Days at the universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow so DD can make her final university decision. For the time being, I am leaving everything in place. Our outbound flights are exclusively U.S. and U.K. on BA. Our return flights on April 2 were on Lufthansa through Frankfurt, so that of course no longer seems like a good option/high chance that one could be cancelled. So this morning I booked alternative return flights on BA from Glasgow through Heathrow back to the U.S. Our original return flights were in Business, but I was able to get Premium Economy on BA using 50k Avios each. I can cancel within 24 hours if the situation worsens or if the universities cancel their Offer Holder days within the coming 24 hours. (So far both university websites indicate the days are still on.) Worst case is a $55 redeposit fee per ticket, which I'm hopeful BA would waive if the travel restrictions are extended to the U.K. or the universities close and/or cancel their events. I'm going to wait on cancelling our original return flights to see if Lufthansa cancels first so I don't have to call and try to get my United miles redeposited without a fee. It seems like the possibility of our going is growing slimmer and slimmer, but I want to maintain optionality for as long as possible for DD's sake. But back to the point about the flexibility and peace of mind having points and miles can offer. I have literally never booked on BA's website and had zero BA Avios in my account this morning. But I did have my stash of one point four million URs available to use. I did an instantaneous transfer of 100k URs to my BA Avios account and was able to book the alternative return flights. And if we do end up making the trip and something happens with the return that leaves us scrambling, it does give me peace of mind to know that I have one point three million URs remaining at my disposal.

I started to like you with a love, meaning I am glad that they let you rebook Cirque!

I changed it to separate out that I'm also sorry you are not able to go, but I sense that it has lifted a weight off your shoulders so all seems good!

I think if I were flying I would be having a lot of second thoughts.

It does take a weight off. Honestly, this was a bonus trip. We just got back from Hawaii, we have (hopefully!) a weekend in NYC in April, Seattle and Alaska cruise in Aug, and now a week at Disney and Universal in Oct. I can't complain.

Sounds like what we dealt with when trying to contact Disney+ :faint:

Thanks, that's kinda what I'm thinking on the express passes. And my kids LOVE lazy rivers!
Then for sure stay at Cabana Bay. CB is our normal spot to stay and it's an easy bus ride to the parks with little to no waiting for a bus and a short 5 minute ride. If you go during a slower period you generally don't need express pass. I recommend going in the morning as the lines are typically shorter then.
Volcano Bay is right next to CB and is an easy walk with their own private security screening. If your kids love lazy rivers they will love Volcano Bay. My son and I usually do at least a half day at VB making sure to do early entry. During our park days we do mornings at the park and afternoons at VB. Make sure you read up on the tapu tapu system just so you know how it works in relation to VB rides.

This is how I felt yesterday and for similar reasons. A month ago I was sure we wouldn't even think about cancelling. Still can't believe how fast things changed.
