Thanks for your reply! We love water and snorkeling and boating, so we sound like your terrible friends who thoroughly enjoyed themselves! :rotfl2:
Now I'm thinking maybe we'll do just a 3 day trip to the Keys. And then a separate weekend trip to NOLA. We are about 8.5 hours from NOLA and don't mind driving.... we could leave early on a Friday, and then return on Sunday for just a quick little getaway. I'm not super interested in cemeteries, or zoos for that matter because I can see that anywhere. My husband loves history/war stuff but as long as I don't tell him there is a WW2 museum, he'll never know!

It wasn’t all bad. This is my favorite vacation photo of all time. Still makes me laugh and remember what a great time we had. My friend was goofing off in the harness and slipped through and spent most of our airborne time like this. We were laughing so much.

UA flyers: UA used to allow free cancellations for 2 hour schedule changes, DoC claims they’ve changed it to 25+ hours of schedule change. I don’t know if this was ever laid out in the contract so idk how much ammo one has to fight. It’s certainly worth contacting them with alternate flights if they don’t re-book you on what works. And it might be worth it to plead your refund case, you never know.

DoC says this could be in advance of mass schedule changes as airlines start cutting capacity. Makes sense to me.

There have been some complaints people who already booked aren’t being given the same considerations as new bookings. Well buckle up. If this article is correct it’s about to get a lot worse for us. Airlines are moving to survival mode, that sucks for them and those of us who already gave them our money.

ETA: looks like cancelled flights should be entitled to a refund. Scheduled changes are screwed if trying for a refund as those are not defined. https://www.transportation.gov/individuals/aviation-consumer-protection/refunds

OMG just looking at it gives me anxiety! Your trip sounds like a lot of fun - we love Key West and don’t really get out on the water. It’s our weekend getaway from the kids place every few years and our plans every day are basically one historic or natural site, walk around, pool/hotel, go to happy hour. It’s been several years and I’m really missing it.

Wow, just saw the list of available to rent already made dvc reservations with a popular rental company and the list is way way longer than usual. :sad1: Makes me feel sad. So many vacation plans being wrecked.
If we’re looking at the same site none of them are good deals though. The list is definitely longer. Dh and I would take advantage of them but I don’t get excited about one unless it’s over 60% off.

We drink water from the fridge so I don’t think we would have an issue. Even if we do I guess we have 3 cases leftover from last hurricane season
everyone should have access to at east 3 days of water in case of emergency...at all times. That's just standard. (anything can happen) in cases where people are panicking, they prob buy more. I cannot overstate that simple thing....EVERYONE should ALWAYS have 3 days of water on hand per person(or pet) at all times. This is the most basic of emergency preparedness.

I guess we don’t normally follow that. The only reason we have water right now is because it’s leftover from hurricane season. In Iowa we never kept bottled water around

...When you’re trying to make a joke and then real life circumstances make you question everything you just said.....

Gerald!!!

Bath and Body Works. I stocked up the other day when everyone else was out. That or you can make your own (or so I've heard) with alcohol and aloe vera.
I make my own,,,it's easy- alcohol, aloe, witch hazel.....for a spray it's alcohol, some essential oil and that's it -so many recipes to google(I started making my own b/c trying to avoid the chemicals added to premade stuff)

I worry for my friends who don't have that stash.... I think no matter where you live, it's wise. We always did when I was growing up too....(I'm not a survivalist lol I promise!):coffee:

Lol you only slightly sound like one 😆

We aren’t big on having plastic bottles around so we try to never buy them unless we have to. We have 3 cases leftover from last year. I honestly don’t know if we’ll ever drink them

Sorry ... :rotfl: I'm truly not in that camp.... I guess I just grew up on a homestead in the woods, where we learned how to manage if the water/electricity/heat went out (it seemed to go out a lot) I can cook on a woodstove if needed! (I don't like it but I can lol) I also don't buy extra plastic bottles etc. Just for this purpose. Other than that we have our own water purifier for regular use.

DH and I are flying to FLL at the end of this month. I had originally looked at the Keys, then decided against it and now looking at switching again. lol He has never been. We are currently booked at the Hyatt Confidante on Miami Beach. We are not beach people, but the hotel mentioned bikes so was hoping we could ride around and explore. I drive DH crazy because I can not stick with a decision. lol We do have to use a Hyatt FNC somewhere, it was the whole point of the trip. We could use it for one night at the Hyatt Place on Marathon Key also.

In have enough beer and wine to get me through longer than that! Water, not so much.

I actually did find some spray in the baby aisle LOL, apparently no one looks there for hand sanitizer. It's Honest brand and smells exactly like a fresh juicy grapefruit!
I thought about making my own too, but no alcohol or aloe anywhere to be found either.
I saw the immune medications aisle was completely empty also, I wasn't wanting any, just noticed the HUGE empty section so went to see what it what.
