FYI: If anybody is checking in for a SW flight tomorrow, check in “25 hours” prior due to the clock change.
Have you tried selling on the Nextdoor app? It seems a little safer than Craigslist. My Dd has bought several items posted on Nextdoor. She also found many babysitting jobs there while attending grad school and she still babysits for the ones she likes even though she has a real job now.I have a desk I just decided to get rid of. It's Frenchprovincialcountry styled and by Ethan Allen but from way back(1990's). In very good condition. Been in a bedroom for many years and not used as a desk but as a catchall for stuff. Time to go. Hopefully I'll get something for it. But, doubt the demand is out there as even I have changed and collect more modernistic styles now. Maybe someone older will want it.
On top of that DD just ousted a table I had stashed in her area - she has a bedroom, plus small sitting area/office plus bathroom. This table is sentimental to me. So where am I going to put it?? I can't just get rid of it. Or maybe I can.
Seems to me I need to have a yard sale. Or do Craigslist after our trip next week. So much work...
Edit: Found it on Ebay for $895. I'll be happy with much less.
Yeah, he lives in the Seattle area and works from home. He has a few friends there, reads and plays video games, has meals delivered. (So he's pretty much self-quarantined already!) Between buses and ride share, he's good. He likes to hike and apparently there is a bus to the trailheads around him. When I talked to him about giving up the DL, he said he's not confident enough to drive and would have to take a class anyway if he decided to. I'm disappointed, but he is a self-supporting adult.Wow. I guess he lives somewhere with good public transportation. As long as he continues living there I guess he is good. Though I would worry about vacations. There are just some you can’t do without renting a car. I guess there are probably many people who live in big cities that never drive.
I guess they are not thinking about kids yet. I can’t imagine not having my license with kids. Who is going to be the mom taxi? Lol
I have a friend who raised 3 kids in Chicago and she only got her DL a couple of years ago (and doesn't use it). I think a car is more of a liability in some places than others. As far as travel, we almost never rent a car - DH drives so much around here that the last thing he wants to do on vacation is drive. Sometimes it's easy to forgot that many people don't live in the suburbs and do quite well without a car (and this is coming from someone who lives in the suburbs and can't imagine not having one).
I love garage sales! My aunt used to live in Celebration and she says they had a community wide garage sale day that was amazing. Unfortunately they moved away but we had planned to go spend the weekend at their house and do it.We got some amazing deals at garage sales today! I never wake up early on Saturdays but I’m so glad I did today. We went to one place where this lady had clothes from her church that people donated. She said to fill a grocery sack for $1!! We also got this cute Eric Carle set of books with a tablet for 75 cents that’s $30 on amazon! I’ll share some pictures.
The only thing I don’t like about garage sales is awkwardly leaving after not buying anything. I always say thank you but still feel weirdI love garage sales! I made it to almost 30! LOLI said that also. I made it to almost 26 before things changed.
At least some of them have plans to resell. Dh’s grandma just buys junk and stores it in her car without ever using itJust ask them when are they going to put the good stuff out. J/k - I know that the people who do go to yard sales regularly get there as early as possible to scout for what they are going to resell. Daughter had a friend whose mother did that.
Will do! 7 days and counting!Well...color me wrong. I’m seeing some DPs that fly in the face of my 99.9% confidence.
So keep checking those SW flights!
My Costco is now limiting purchase of items such as clorox wipes, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. to two per member. But thankfully it wasn't busy today as the dog needed her rotisserie chicken!
You and me both!I’m so confused on the run on toilet paper. Lol
I don’t get it either. Unless people just want to stock up on essentials Incase they don’t want to go out later. You and me both!

There are a few people here who have had their kids even younger than 24 get a CIP...don’t forget to have her apply from your support linkWhat are the odds of younger person being approved for CIP? DD24 needs to get rolling on her credit history. The only cc she has is a Discover Student card which she's had for about 2 years. She barely uses it. She also has a car loan plus student loans with perfect payment history. Total length of credit is 5 years.

Just FYI 1990's isn't vintage yetI think sometimes for furniture craigslist can work better. It really depends on your area though. We did a garage sale before we moved and barely sold anything. A lot of it ended up going to goodwill.
I also think you might be surprised about people wanting the “older” style furniture. Some people have really gotten into the vintage stuff. My SIL buys a ton of second hand furniture like tables and repaint a them herself
