I’m looking at shoes today. Would like to invest in some comfortable flats. I’m not used to spending much money on shoes so that’s why I say invest. Lol. But I don’t mind spending $100 on a pair if they look and feel great and will last forever. Last year I know there was conversation about Rothys, Allbirds, etc. I read a review last night that recommended Everlane. Anybody care to give their opinion again and has anyone ever tried the Everlane Day Glove?

How many times can I say I hate/loathe/despise the Verizon company administration, yet I am an Xfinity customer for my cell phone and also cable and internet for the past 2 years and Xfinity phone service runs on the Verizon network. I almost didn't go with Xfinity for phone service but the deal was too good.

Right now, Xfinity is offering a $300 visa card for new Samsung customers - the reason I didn't wait until next month to upgrade. Not long ago they were offering a $200 card for iPhone. I got a Samsung S10 plus for $849.99 with gift card which will arrive in a few months for a net of $549.99. I am paying by the month to try and get credit card offers - right now that will amount to only $40 off using chase and Amex, so I'm sort of holding off hoping to see a better offer. So, effectively I am at $509.99 for my phone.

I wanted a phone with 512GB because I seem to go through my gigs a little fast. I could have gotten a few dollars for my old phone $72, but kept it rather than downloading stuff. It is an S8 and still works as a camera, for email, for Disboards, for music, etc on wifi. The babies now have their own Samsung tablets thanks to younger DD at Xmas, but now I can give the old phone if they are here without. Most of us are android focused except older daughter.

Anyway as to the 512Gb, even the Samsung website is reporting sold out on the S20 ultra 5g model with the awesome camera. That is the phone I wanted and now I am making do until at least a year. The situation in China is being blamed for a shortage of 'new' phones but I really don't know. I do know that no new phones have been delivered yet as March is the target date for release.

I've had no problem with service but I'm in an area that is saturated with Verizon so can't speak for West Virginia. And, after having been on every network, I have to admit that for here, Verizon is the most consistent. ewwww.

Edited to add: there are no extra fees with Xfinity. I did have to pay for taxes at the va tax rate, about $40ish but my plan is still $12 for each gig of data. And we stay on wifi pretty consistently.

I had briefly looked into xfinity. I think it is more than I am paying now. I am pretty sure if I do switch, I will end up paying more anywhere. We are on an old plan. It is not unlimited, but it might as well be. It is 32GB w/rollover. So like this month it says we have 50GB to use. We are paying $85 + $20/phone so a total of $37/line. And we each get a hotspot, that we use when traveling for our laptops. I know a lot of the cheaper unlimited plans do not give you the hotspot.

Conventional wisdom says today will be ugly because it is a Friday and no one wants to be holding the bag into the weekend, market-wise.
Barclays is saying it is too early to buy. I probably agree with that too.

I did buy some on Monday because I thought the drop would be a short-lived fluke. I guess not!
I did the same and I tend to agree with you.

Right now Florida is not showing any confirmed cases. Only one confirmed case showing on the East coast in Massachusetts, but, there are 20 out of 60 cases in the US where location has not been announced. At least 13 of these 60 cases are from the Diamond Princess and are undergoing treatment in Nebraska after being quarantined. 57 people from the Diamond Princess were quarantined in Nebraska total.

I never gave it much thought while at Disney. However, I was a little reticent to tell extended family that daughter was in Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Cambodia in January, just before the epidemic became public. In fact she did not know about it until her return home and I told her. Washington Area airports were not screening yet, but Lax and I believe the NYC airports had just started the previous day that she returned. She was healthy and none of us were sick, thankfully.

Cruises are not my thing and my daughter is constantly asking me to do a Disney cruise with the grands and her. Won't be happening. But right now, risk of getting coronavirus is pretty small in the US.
Thank you for that information. I really need this vacation. If I don't go in 2 weeks, the next time that I can get away won't be until November!

I am a Rothy Fan Girl  :rotfl: I can wear them for hours and hours and hours and walk miles in them. I wore them in Rome with all the cobblestones! I like that they wash so easily and dry quickly (don't machine dry!!) I like that I can have neutral colors and then fun colors (my treat after reaching an interim goal weight was a pair of red flats to go with my Snow White red apple dress).

I've toured in WDW, Rome, and India so far with them. I wear them day-to-day at home when I'm not wearing boots or sneakers.

I have a very high instep and arch. I also injured my foot 2 years ago and the outer 2 toes on one foot don't like to bend that much anymore. The flat style fits me best. I wear the point style when dressing up (like, weddings, awards banquets). I have one sneaker that takes some effort to put on because of the shape of my foot but works just fine all day long.

I have taupe, grayish, and red flats, hot pink points, and a cool blue pattern no longer available in the sneaker style.

(I may have a support link too)

Thanks! I love red. *favorite*

My feet are pretty average width and arch. I injured my ankle 6 years ago and can’t do much of a heel anymore. My go to for big walking days recently have been a pair of Saucony Guides (runners) and if it’s rainy (and warm enough) Teva sandals. Both also big purchases for me. The Guides are probably 3 years old now and the Tevas are 2 years old.

I have all birds, which I like, but I think of them as a substitute for slippers. I wear them after golf or when I'm going short distances outside. They are not supportive (I have the slip on style), and I don't like walking in them long term. They are also pretty ugly even in pink, which is the "cutest." :)

I have a couple pair of Tieks. They are great for travel and aren't too bad to walk in for not long days. They are quite a bit more than $100 though :)

I work in research too and I so agree with you (though I am a cruise person, lol). Too many unknowns! I was debating if we should keep our Alaska cruise since PIF is coming up. If we did, I was going to get cancel for any reason insurance. But today I realized I can't because the insurance that lets you get it before PIF is before it's fully PAID, not when it's DUE. I paid it off early last month. Oops. So that cinched it and I canceled the cruise. If it all blows over, maybe we can get a last minute deal. Or maybe it'll just be a land trip or maybe a road trip. I'm just glad to not be locked into any penalties until things become clearer.

I'm another researcher who usually is very good about not overreacting, but I am stocking up on a few things just in case. I'm not sure what I'd do if I had a cruise or international trip scheduled in the next few months.

@DisneyMandC not sure if you get the science channel but richard hammond's big started a few weeks ago. I'm enjoying it, some humor but mostly just interesting. The VW factory in germany is insanely big. They have their own sausage maker!

Thanks!! DH had mentioned that show to me a while ago but I forgot about it! I'll have to look and see if we get that channel. We loved James May's Man in Japan, especially with our upcoming trip.

We’re buying extra canned veggies, soup, and stuff like that to have. We’re still going to Disney tomorrow and I’m not too worried at this point.

Do you think all of the AA shutdowns have made people less open to posting on our thread? I know I've personally been a little scared to post approvals/redemptions since all of that started on reddit. And I'm not even using "advanced" strategies! Which I will admit makes me sad since part of the "fun" is posting after being approved!
I don’t know for sure. I’d say for some affected by the shutdowns, it has had a ripple affect on their general churning efforts or interest in openly discussing the hobby.

Activity in the thread certainly breeds more activity. So when we have no new offer to discuss or something other exciting event I guess the quietness just starts to build. Lol.

I didn't know James show had dropped. I'll add it to my ever growing list of things to watch. Glad to know that it was both good and helpful. Does he go all over Japan?

We have a pantry and chest freezer with at least 2 weeks of food. So not buying anything extra at this point. Though it would get tiring to not have fresh veggies and fruits.
We have a pretty small pantry and freezer so we don’t usually keep a lot of extra stuff frozen. We do have a lot of frozen meat right now because I bought some in bulk recently and split it up.

We are empty nesters, and DH and I mostly do stick to fresh foods, so I don't have much if any shelf-stable things on hand. Just having had the flu, I've had recent experience with different kinds of OTC meds so will be buying ibuprofen/decongenstants/etc. Also supplies for the cats--no idea what we'd do if we ran out of cat litter.

And I'd definitely go to WDW tomorrow.

Question for you Chase shopping portal experts - I'm looking to make a purchase online. The store has 4% back in URs if I use my CSR or CSP. Rakuten also has 4% cash back. On my laptop, I've got the Rakuten extension (I think that's what they call it? It's the little button that makes Rakuten deals automatically pop up if I go to an eligible website, so I don't have to go to Rakuten first and click-through from there). Can I go to the store through the Chase shopping portal, and then click on the Rakuten "Activate 4% cash back" when the Rakuten pop-up shows up, and get both the URs and the cash back? Or will clicking on the Rakuten pop-up somehow invalidate my original click-through from the Chase shopping portal?

So we are doing 10% back on raise again, eh TCB?? Should I trust you this time or not!

Daughters got quite addicted to Tieks. And pink was the color of choice for several pair. I liked them also but couldn't pull the trigger on the price.

I will say their customer service was awesome when they replaced a pair immediately based on a small inquiry/complaint.
