Product change question: I've got a CIP that's coming up to its one-year anniversary, and I want to PC to a CIC once the AF hits. I know I need to call Chase to make this happen, but is there anything in particular I should know or say when I make this request? Or is this a totally non-controversial request and I'm just assuming that I'm trying to get away with something sketchy?? :) I'm planning to apply for a CSR in late April, so I don't want to do anything that will make Chase angry with me.

I didn't know James show had dropped. I'll add it to my ever growing list of things to watch. Glad to know that it was both good and helpful. Does he go all over Japan?

Yes! I think it's six episodes and he starts up in like Hokkaido and goes all the way down to the southern end of Japan. I think two episodes are devoted to either Tokyo or Osaka, I can't remember which. It was really great and also funny, DH and I binge watched it in a weekend.

My attitude towards investing as a 35yo with a long horizon:
- The best day to buy VTSAX was yesterday
- The 2nd best day to buy VTSAX is today
- The 3rd best day to buy VTSAX is tomorrow.

Every day is the best day to buy more VTSAX!!
I have my 2020 Roth contributions sitting in a money market settlement fund. I’m waiting a few more days to move it to stock.

It shouldn't be a problem at all, just tell them you don't want to pay the annual fee so you'd like one of the fee free cards.

We are empty nesters, and DH and I mostly do stick to fresh foods, so I don't have much if any shelf-stable things on hand. Just having had the flu, I've had recent experience with different kinds of OTC meds so will be buying ibuprofen/decongenstants/etc. Also supplies for the cats--no idea what we'd do if we ran out of cat litter.

And I'd definitely go to WDW tomorrow.
I think we need to buy an extra bag of cat food. Ours looks to be getting low. We buy our year’s worth of litter on Black Friday every year so we’re good on that.

Daughters got quite addicted to Tieks. And pink was the color of choice for several pair. I liked them also but couldn't pull the trigger on the price.

I will say their customer service was awesome when they replaced a pair immediately based on a small inquiry/complaint.
I have ballet pink, and I think they are far the most versatile. I bought a sliver burlapy pair and thought they'd be just as versatile, but I still go to the pink.

Did he stay on the main part of japan or did he go down to okinawa?

I watch and invest in some stocks too. Timing is key. How far will they drop and when is the right time to buy?!!
I am going to Disney in 2 weeks, not going to cancel our trip. Am I worried? No, concerned, a bit.
We have 4 weeks before our Disney trip. Watching and waiting... we'd only be out Cirque tickets and DVC points (and the free 1 day passes, but I didn't pay for those) if we had to cancel last minute. But, as of now, we're going!

DH used to do emergency planning for the town, FEMA training and all that. So we are getting water, some OTC meds and he's assessing our pantry (we always have too much food anyway). Apparently we have 14 batches of brownie mix! 😳 I told him he needs to make sure we have enough eggs to bake them, LOL!

Amex plat airline credit question. Will it cover upgrades? Or is it one where it might but only if under 100? Still trying to figure out which to eventually pick.

Had thought to pick VS for japan taxes but then if that doesn't work and we do a different redemption route I'm out of luck. Or would it even cover that? And if it does can I pick the airline and then turn around and use it to pay right away?

i PCd mine to a CIU a month ago and forgot that it needed a $5000 CL (I had lowered it to $2000 before) so the phone rep had to get the limit upped first before she could do the PC. I don't know if CIC is the same way.

I work in research too and I so agree with you (though I am a cruise person, lol). Too many unknowns! I was debating if we should keep our Alaska cruise since PIF is coming up. If we did, I was going to get cancel for any reason insurance. But today I realized I can't because the insurance that lets you get it before PIF is before it's fully PAID, not when it's DUE. I paid it off early last month. Oops. So that cinched it and I canceled the cruise. If it all blows over, maybe we can get a last minute deal. Or maybe it'll just be a land trip or maybe a road trip. I'm just glad to not be locked into any penalties until things become clearer.
I'm of the same mind, don't want to be locked in if there's too many unknowns (I like my data reliable, LOL!). But we'd look for something else with less restriction.

How do you know when it's time to buy?
I don't know. But, I have been an investor for quite a while now. Although I don't like to see my stocks go down, I try to look on the bright side and see it as an opportunity to buy more. I did buy some on Monday. But I am going to hold off on more for another week or two at least to see where the market is going.

OT - I posted this in the Swagbucks thread but figured I would post here too since some of you use Swagbucks:

If you had 2450 SB and always cash in for Visa GC, would you cash in now for 2450 or wait until Sunday when it will be 2100?

Trying to decide if I should cash in now and then still get a discounted one next month anyway since I usually get 2-3 GCs a month.
Don't know if anyone answered you, but I would wait until Monday myself. I usually do 1 discounted card each month and then do Paypal for the rest.

I remember you got those Cirque tickets!!! I definitely want to try and get some for our next trip after this one.
I hope that you don't end up needing to cancel you trip.
I will be sure to post once we are down there how things are.
It is always good to be prepared with food!

Anyone have an idea of this answer? If my Sams membership expires tomorrow, can I still go to the store and shop tomorrow?

I'm thinking we'll be OK for Disney. Frankly, airports and WDW are petri dishes of germs ANYTIME and I am always extra consious wiping things down and hand washing.

I will definitely share a review of Cirque!
